Bush To Campaign With Kilgore

President Bush plans to campaign on Monday for VA Gov candidate Jerry Kilgore, a week after Kilgore snubbed a Bush appearance in Norfolk, VA.

But here's the werid thing: Bush isn't due back from South America until around 9:00 pm ET on Monday night.

So if Bush campaigns for Kilgore on Monday night, will anyone notice? Is that what Kilgore's campaign wants?

Kaine spokesperson Mo Elleithee said "he could not think of a better visual to drive home" their message. Elleithee: "Do you want someone who is going to govern in the fashion of Mark Warner, or someone who's going to govern the way they do it in Washington?" Elleithee added that he just needed "to figure out where to send the thank you note."

Update: we just got this e-mail from the Kilgore campaign:

"Reporters: There will be changes to Jerry Kilgore's Monday schedule.
For further information, you must contact the White House Office of Media Affairs at...."

This could be the nail in the coffin (if VA voters ever get the news from the MSM).

Are you guys some kind of kindergarteners or what? Your postings are always choke full of spelling and grammatical errors.

Hotline on Call is an embarassment to the media.

Seems like a risky move by Kilgore. If it was me running in Virginia I'd stay away from Bush and not mention his name.

It the MSM in Virginia is anything the MSM I listen to, they'll try and spin it as some kind of big deal and make Kilgore look like some kind of hot shot because Bush came to campaign for him

Despite the media's knocking Bush every single broadcast, and Bush never fighting back - he's still liked by the red state public and has a good track record of endorsing the eventual winner - see e.g., Sen. Thome and Sen. Chambliss. There are more Bush voters out there than indicated - just not politically correct to admit it as indicated in the Bush-Kerry exit polling. Kilgore in a squeaker.
