It isn't going to save them to say "look, the Democrats are corrupt too" because they are not the ones in power and indeed, they are no where near as corrupt as these Republicans have been.

I noted the color coding as well, where is that black color appearing. I didn't see "black" in the Republican area either. That was my point. It doesn't clearly illustrate where his personal money went.

Ah, already we're seeing the "Everyone does it" defense. And, as usual, it doesn't describe the situation: Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff's scandal is a Republican scandal. The net will be wide and catch many fish, but the ones doing the most wriggling will be people like Tom DeLay, a Republican leader under indictment for corruption all on his lonesome.

Jack Abramoff has indeed given to both parties! In fact, his lobby group directly gave approx. $1.2 million to the Dems! He DID give $2.8 million to the Republicans, as well.

Also, Patrick Kennedy has said he will not return the $47,000 given to him by Abramoff's lobby for representing indian interests.

what's the big deal with Republicans saying "everyone's doing it so it must be okay"? 'cuz on this blog, all the Democrats are saying "the Republicans are doing it, so it's okay that us Democrats are corrupt, too."

I don'y know about the rest of you, but I'm sick to death of the Republican party and the neo-conservatives in general. They claim to be the "moral majority"? So patriotic. So very American. The quicker they are got out of office the better!
