Pelosi To Jefferson: RESIGN...from Ways & Means
Just released from House Min Leader Nancy Pelosi's office:
May 24, 2006
Congressman William J. Jefferson
2113 Rayburn House Office Building
U.S. House of Representatives
Washington, D.C. 20515
Dear Congressman Jefferson:
In the interest of upholding the high ethical standard of the House Democratic Caucus, I am writing to request your immediate resignation from the Ways and Means Committee.
Sincerely,
Nancy Pelosi
Democratic Leader

It just goes to show you the difference between Democrats and Republicans, had this been a Republican Congressman they would have circled the wagons, blamed the media, smeared a few Democrats, and waited for indictments before any action was taken. Pelosi is right Jefferson should resign, we do not need any corrupt Congressmen in our party, that's the Republicans job.
Coodos to Nancy Pelosi!Great example, now when will a high ranking Republican call for the crooks in the Whitehouse to do the same?
Edward De Cesare, Do you get ALL your news from the LLL Blogsphere? Tom delay stepped down from the Speakers podium and resigned his seat. Cunningham is currently serving a prison sentence. Where/when/who "circled the wagons around these two?
P.S. you can use the RIGHT side of your brain.
I'm heartened to learn that Minority Leader Pelosi is exhibiting great leadership in calling for Mr. Jefferson's resignation from Ways and Means.
Let's continue being open, transparent and honest in our party and work hard to stamp out corruption regardless of party.
Pelosi talked to Jefferson before the letter went out. They cleared each other's statements.
She did it for the press, not the a real push on a guilty criminal.
Nice One Nancy,
From where I sit it sounds like you have already judged him and found him guilty. Why bother with a trial. I doubt you would have the same reaction if Represenative Jefferson was white
