CNN's Morning Grind reports this morning that the South Carolina Republican Party is on the verge of scheduling a presidential primary debate for May of 2007. That'd be the first we know about.
Recall that in 2003, ABC's George Stephanopoulos hosted the first-in-the-nation debate for Democrats in South Carolina.
