GOPers Thinking Of Lieberman Support
Following up: A senior Republican official in Washington confirms that the party might encourage Republicans and others to support Sen. Lieberman if he runs as an independent. There's no sense, just yet, about what those signs and signals might look like. Says the GOP official: "I just think there will be folks who want to support – regardless of what we think. And, we don’t think that’s a bad thing." And Kevin F. Rennie reports that some GOPers in CT are thinking about ways to financially support Lieberman's independent bid.... [MARC AMBINDER]

Odd. The margin has been at ~7500 votes since the reporting precincts was in the teens -- now it's at 44% reporting. Which means the last 25% of precincts have been split equally between the two.
How I wish we could trust our election processes and technology. Whenever there are statistically improbable results we naturally suspect the worst. Unfortunately, the current technologies employ NONE of the standard security methodologies, so we are forced to always be suspicious.
Yes, I think that the GOPers should support Lieberman. Strew his path with flowers and candy. That would clarify things even more.
I wonder what a CT republican candidate would think about the RNC supporting another republican running as an indy?
Does the RNC have ANY scruples?
Prove it.
That's because there is no Democrats vs. Republicans. That is not the true division. It's an illusory one. The real divide cuts across party lines and is happy to lump lieberman with delay with bush with clinton. Buy Coke or Pepsi, you're still buying junk.
"That is not the true division. It's an illusory one."
No that's not what GOP support of Lieberman means. It means the true goal of the GOP is and has always been power. Period. All this fancy talk about conservative principles is just so much smoke-blowing. The GOP Liebermen reward loyalty, and Lieberman has demonstrated where his loyalties lie.
