Lieberman Looks Up
The Lieberman campaign is feeling both feisty and confident. They can start checking names off their list of Democrats who turned on the three term incumbent after his August primary defeat.
The Lieberman people took delight early last week in telling a story of John Kerry’s rebuff by Senate Democratic leaders when he lobbied them to lend some aid to Democrat aristocrat Ned Lamont’s flagging campaign. Lieberman’s campaign is delighted it still has friends in high places. They received added satisfaction when Lieberman got to pile on Kerry mid-week as the haughty Massachusetts neighbor limped off the campaign field. [KEVIN F. RENNIE]
The hooting from Lieberman supporters grew louder when the Lamont campaign was reduced to featuring one of its many highly-paid consultants to fill a testimonial ad. Former Republican state chairman Tom D’Amore turned independent-turned Democrat, appears on a bench singing the praises of Lamont’s belief in the power of government for good. Maybe, but there’s no doubt that Lamont’s been good for the D’Amore exchequer, though there’s no mention of that in the ad.
During lulls in the action, the senator and his campaign found time to remind the world of their disappointment with Senator Christopher Dodd’s embrace of Lamont. Dodd has spent most of the campaign promoting the busman’s holiday that masquerades as a presidential campaign. He found a couple of days to help Lamont and shot one of the cycle’s most awkward commercials with Democratic nominee. A call for change does not flow easily from 32-year Washington veteran Dodd.
On Friday, the Lieberman campaign took its delight to the street when it chased the Lamonts and their entourage away from a Hartford campaign stop on the obligatory bus tour. Noting Lamont’s “pimped out” gold bus from Arkansas, the Lieberman blog poked fun at Lamont’s skedaddle back onto the bus after a brief encounter with swarming Lieberman supporters. “F@#$-you” and “you, too” were directed by young ladies to Lamont and suburban matron Lt. Governor candidate Mary Glassman. The Lamont campaign called them “wild-eyed thugs.”
After Tuesday, the retribution tour expects to move to the tony precincts of Capitol Hill. They’ll spend December checking their list more than twice.

So you are promoting Lieberman? How nice!! I notice you don't comment on the words used by Lieberman supporters towards Lamont. Do you work for the DLC, Kevin?
Seriously, can Roll Call abandon the title of impartiality now?
This is one Democrat who will be proud to be on Lieberman's enemy list. I would consider it a badge of honor. Please Kevin Rennie, please make sure that I'm on Lieberman's enemy list. I'm begging you.
If Lieberman wins this election, I will personally send him military enlistment forms and tell him he needs to sacrifice his kids and grandkids to that hell hole he helped crate in Iraq. Anyone who supports Lieberman should be willing to sacrifice themselves to our military and demand to be sent to suffer in Iraq. If they are not, then they are moral hypocrites and cowards.
Do you think this tactic will get me on Lieberman's enemy list? I hope so.
Gee, Lieberman better get a grip, he ran on a failed ticket for Veep in 2000, and couldn't get his campaign for Prez off the ground in 04, and he got beat in a primary in his home state for a job he has held for quite awhile, and those supporters who yelled at Lamont were paid to do so. Joementum is still a joke and his fellow Senators should realize this and put him in his proper place, somewhere out in political Siberia.
Ah, bitter revenge. That shows a great deal of maturity on the part of Joe Lieberman. Very senatorial. Jesus would surely approve.
This is the kind of trash article that the hotline reprints...YUCK
Whacking Lamont would be another defeat for the Kosites, and one that will hurt more than most since they were so instrumental in getting Joe kicked to the curb.
That's one election result I'll love watching.
On what basis does the National Journal Group decide the winners and losers of the Presidential debate? Is it because you know Rudy McRomney can be bought like the whores they are and Ron Paul cannot? Ron Paul was the clear winner of the debate. Go push your propaganda elsewhere
Are you going to censor my comment? Are you afraid to debate with me? Are you afraid to debate with Ron Paul or anyone else who will confront you with the truth? The only thing you have is opinion, as David Hume spoke of, and once the American citizens don't buy your opinion anymore, you are powerless, and so is Rupert Murdoch, and all of you crooks and murderers
