I hope Senator Kerry gets a grasp on reality. We can do our job without him. He can't do his job without us uneducated military. C ya at the voting booths.

And it appears to be a political statement, made in uniform.
I seem to recall that such activities (in uniform) were a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
I find that interesting - very interesting.
