I pesonally like Obama because I believe he can be more politically honest. He seems to be a bit of fresh air when compared to others.

I do have one question. While recently visiting in Paris, France, one friend told me that she had seen something that puzzeled her. In some "swearing-in" process he was going thru, Obama requested a Koran to put his right hand on rather than a Bible that the others used. I told her that I seriously didn't believe that could be correct because being Muslim would SERIOUSLY hamper his ability to get votes at this particular time, especially after 9/11, and the Democrat powers would not allow this in such an important race.

I've tried to find information on this since I returned home---but to no avail. This very well could be some kind of French joke that my friend didn't understand?????

Is he a practicing Christian and when did he join the christian faith. Although we do not have a "religious test" for President of the United States, Americans would be fools to elect someone who has a basic belief that denounces American values and that supports the overthrow of our American value system. Barack is a charasmatic speaker. It seems that his "differences" need much more explanantion. Yes, foreign countries will see we have "new" leadership were he to be elected President, but will they see us as newly aligned to Terrorist groups, etc. Personally, I think they'll see quite clearly where we stand if McCain is elected. At mimimum, can we all agree to elect someone that we know has America's best interests at heart. We don't need to be selling out America to every other nation of the world. If you disagree with this, don't bother to go to work anymore, give up all of your assets, etc. because, hey, we're all citizens of the same world, and we should just give everything into the same socialist pot. Christians do share, of course, but, bringing about world peace may require some things such as strength through strength, etc.

I think it's pretty sad that the average American has to depend on the media for their imformation as well as their entertainment (seems to be one in the same). We ask all the questions, complain about our lives, our kids, and those stupid computers that they waste all their time on, yet fail to realize that they know more about what is going on than we do.

Is this just a way to attack him, or does he have ties to terrrorists? Say what you will, but after the cold war the country needed a new enemy, so the USA created one. After 9/11 we were programmed to hate Muslims. I for one am a Christian and I don't "hate" because the TV tells me too. So my thinking is a little outside the box here. According to the media, we are being targeted by Muslims, then why would we vote one in. I'm confused about how the media could go through such excruciating efforts to make everyone hate the Muslim faith and people then we turn around and glorify a Muslim and elect one as the president. I know he says he is a Christian, but how can we trust him. Religion has nothing to do with government, unless the religion is bent on destroying our country.

As Obama's running mate stated recently, America can look for trouble within six months of Obama's election. He is inexperienced and will be tested. I hope America is ready.

In response to Woo, if Obama wants to use a Koran, congress will let him. Since he is now a practicing Christian, whatever that means, I'm guessing he won't ask for a Koran.
