Clinton Hires Deputy Campaign Manager

Sen. Hillary Clinton has tapped Bob Nash, a former Clinton administration official and currently the president of a pioneering community development bank, to be one of several deputy campaign managers.

It's unclear what Nash's portfolio will be. He's been informally helping the campaign contact and massage the egos of prominent African American political leaders, so he might manage the campaign's outreach to allies or perhaps its political operation.

Nash is the vice chair of ShoreBank Corp, which bills itself as the "country's first and largest community development bank." In the Clinton administration, he served as director for presidential personnel and prior to that, undersecretary of Agriculture. An Arkansan, Nash was a top aide to Gov. Bill Clinton in the 1980s.

Nash will report to manager Patti Solis Doyle.

Get the book Compromised: Bush, Clinton and the CIA by Terry Reed, a former CIA operative, and he tells about the time in the mid 1980's in a Little Rock, AR National Guard bunker, when Oliver North, future Attorney General William Barr, Clinton, Terry Reed, longtime CIA guru Felix Rodriguez, Budddy Young and BOB NASH were in a bunker, plotting to ship arms to the Nicaraguan contras and, apparently, cocaine back to the USA to supposedly fund the contras.
Clinton is there complaining how his very close friend and contributor Dan Lasater and brother Roger Clinton got busted on drug charges in 1984, saying, that was not "kosher."
The hiring of BOB NASH shows just how desperate the Clintons are for the black vote, which seems to be slipping away every day.

I'm black and the Clintons have always had blacks on their team. Why is it desperate to hire a black person as if this was out of the ordinary? Should Hillary now ignore the blacks just to prove she's not desperate? I don't follow your logic.

This move by Hillary Clinton should be seen in the context of Barack Obama. Hillary is obviously trying to hold onto the African-American vote that Obama is siphoning off from her.

In what way does this show that the Clintons are desperate for the African-American vote? As the post says, this guy has been working with the Clintons since the '80s - long before anybody had ever heard of Barack Obama.

If you think the Clinton's are that "weak and desperate" you would not have to be on here pouting and crying to take them down, you know they are strong enough and you know they can win, and you are afraid of that fact. Stop trying to play the racial divide card. . . Is Obama only half desperate since he's half black? Please don't answer that, I might have to laugh.

I'm African-American and it is no big deal that they hire talented people. What's made of the fact when Obama hires whites?

See the latest Rasmuusan poll...Mrs. Clinton's numbers are sliding down hill for every demographic group...she can hire whomever she wants...the majority of Americans don't care for her...

You don't care for her and it does not matter. However, it does matter whom she hires and she will do fine without your vote. I saw the polls and she is still ahead of those who are voting.

I don't think anyone is of the opinion that my cousin, Bob Nash, was hired to "save the campaign" of candidate Clinton. I suppose he was asked to help based on what he has to offer the campaign, and his friendship with the Clintons. Is there anything wrong with that? I didn't think so.

Whether or not you like Hillary, you must admit that she is very bright, intelligent and wise. I was always told in order to be successful I must always surround myself with people that are smarter and wiser than myself. It's obvious that's the reason she has hired Bob Nash. SHE WANT'S TO WIN! So what's wrong with that?

Obviously this person feels threatened by Hillary, but she is a very intelligent lady who cares about the people as her husband did......
GO HILLARY!!

If you want a suggestion that will grarantee National reform.....contact me and I will share what I know, for a fact, will influence the American People to vote you in as our next president. It is just icing on the cake. It is a message that will make a difference in Social Security Reform by reducing funding we already have in the Social Services Budget. It is a fix that everyone I have polled agrees with.

I know Bob Nash, in fact I worked for Bob Nash at one point and believe me when I tell you, he is a man of great integrity and is very intelligent. Ms. Clinton has made a very wise decision hiring Mr. Nash who also possesses one of the most prized characteristics of any political campaign.... Loyalty!

will the sociopathic clintons kill him when they're done with him like many others before him? those who crave power the most are the ones who should never have it.
the media never holds the clintons feet to the fire. its a crime what they get away with. we are all bit players in their world because its all about them.

I wuld like to become a part of the campaigne for Hillary Clinton.

Mrs. Clinton, why don't you get your head out from under your arm. This presidency is critical to the American people. You have allready failed on the Iraq war situation, do not fail us on the illegal immigrant situation. The American people want them deported asap. These folms are draining our recources, medical, education, and othe social services. We are getting tired of listning to the voices on the other end of the line asking ,espaniol or english, senator the last time I looked, the language in America is english.
Senator we want our borders sealed, now and deport all illegals.
One other item senator, it will be a disgrace to the people of this nation if you allow illegals to draw on my S/S. tHESE ARE SOME THINGS THAT AE NOT IN YOUR BEST INTREST TO BE LET GO. rEMEMBER IT'S NOT OVER TILL THE FAT LADY SINGS. have a nice day,and MERRY CHRISTMAS, AND THOSE THAT CALL SANTA RED CLAUSE SHOULD HAVE 20 LASHES.

I am a black female from Columbus, Ohio, and I do not perceive Obama to be electable. One thing that I think will help seal Hillary's position on the IRAQ WAR is for you all to come up with a viable answer when Obama says that he was against the war from the beginning. PLEASE DO NOT LET OBAMA GET AWAY WITH THE LAST WORD ON THE IRAQ WAR! You have got to come out and say that it was a mistake to vote for the war. You have got to say that things in IRAQ HAVE CHANGED. OBAMA talks about CHANGE. So tell him that you are changing your position on IRAQ WAR due to the changing conditions in IRAQ. TELL OBAMA THAT THE IRAQI GOVERNMENT IS NOT MAKING ANY PROGRESS AND THAT IT IS TIME TO LET THE IRAQI GOVERNMENT KNOW THAT IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE AND TIME TO BRING OUR TROOPS HOME. Please admit that you made a mistake and that you are ready to correct that mistake by doing all you can to change the course in Iraq by bringing our troops home.

I have some vital information to deliver to someone in charge of security for Mrs. Clinton

obama is saying what we all whant to here and people are eating it up also he has alot of republicans promoting him think people something is very wrong here since when do republicans promote demecrats during election time
he says a whole lot of nothing no one has hit me with e reasonable argument yet ive even been called racist hate to brake it to you but i have a brother who is a quarter black
if someone can argue my point reasonbly id like them to but insults only prove that what im saying is correct

As an African-American, I'm particularly concerned about Sen. Clinton's decision to replace her previous campaign manager with an African-American, now.

To me, it has the appearance that Sen. Clinton believes African-Americans are only valuable as a "tool" to use to gain support when you're having trouble with African-Americans.

Why wasn't Ms. Williams qualified to be in Campaign Manager from the beginning?

I believe Oprah said my sentiments best, "Don't play me small!", when referring to inferences that she's voting for Barack Obama, because he African-American.

African-Americans, and all Americans supporting Sen. Obama are not small-minded. This belittle-ing, late and transparent effort by Sen. Clinton will not sit well with most Americans who want real change and not more of the "appearance" of change!

As African-Americans, we've witnessed, time and time again, simple devicive efforts like this.

IT'S NO DIFFERENT ...
than very elder African-American coaches, onlyy getting a head coaching job, late into their 50's and at a 1-15 team, while seeing white coaches hire in their 30's, some performing horribly (Dave Wandstedt, etc.) and immediately getting a new head coaching job.

IT'S NO DIFFERENT ...
than African-Americans being used as puppets and props, and only during time of unrest among an African-American community -- so, it's color, not talent that dictates an African-American's opportunity to lead. Watch for all the photo-ops that Sen. Clinton will parade Ms. Williams on! Previously, I never even saw her former campaign manager.

IT'S NO DIFFERENT ...
than the experiences that African-Americans have gone through.

IT'S NO NEGATIVE REFLECTION UPON ... Ms. Williams. I know that she's deserving, thus should have been the campaign manager to begin with! I KNOW, Bill Clinton, would never have made such an error or slight to African-Americans' intelligence!

Are we starting that old "Race war" again? Let Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama bring on board whoever they want to help them say to the country what their aspirations are. Stop the Biggering!

Thank yu all.

I adore you Hillary,
I am a black woman in Africa and we look for you as a model for all women of the world.
I hope the world will have peace when America gets a woman president, she is a mother, she wont go around killing children of other women in the world. She voted for Iraq war that time because America was in danger and it is the duty of any mother to protect up her children, Americans should see that.
Americans women should be proud of Hillary, men should not use them to go against Hillary, even if a black man is standing for presidency.
We should stand beside her as women , please open your eyes, men always say that women hate each other, do you want men to prove that? NO not this time, please NO, vote for Hillary, she can do it.
God bless you Hillary, be startegic and let the people see you vision
I salute you and Wish you all the best
Naki,
Tanzania

I hope it is not too late to put this advice forward to Hillary Clinton-future President, I hope!
1) Get rid of the big fat microphone, it looks falic and like you are talking to a men's member.

2) Stop flailing your left hand and arm. Have your hands free and give a speech either with hands resting gently on the podium or clasped easily in from of yourself. I think by now everyone knows you're intelligent, self confident, a good leader, and a winner. Now, show them your softer side without being mushy. Talk the talk of women everywhere-middle class forgotten women, think how Oprah talks to women. Get excited, be your own cheerleader. Have fun with it. If you go out not a winner-which I doubt, you will look like you had fun, not like you will fall apart or be devastated.

3) Let your husband do his thing but be separate. You are not a man and you don't have to be a man to be powerful. We raise families and work. We multi-task better than any man can conceivably imagine. Remember to mention that to your audience. We are multi-faceted, multi-talented, multi-dimensional and we put have put up with the tunnel vision and maze oriented men (not all men) who go to work and come home. Then, go to work and come home. And, expect everything else to come together like magic.

4) Mess up your hair a little. Let the wind blow through it. Men are soft for moving hair and it makes you real. Not a plastered picture of perfection. Your intelligence is coming off like you have to be perfect. Not SO!

Good luck-from a woman who is voting this year for sure!

Notice presupposition in the titles on yahoo news
they are like this:
Will Hilary survive after Texas (presupposing she will loose)
Obama is gaining on Clinton (presuppositions that he will pass her)

Those title can have strong effect on peoples mind. They make an impression that Clinton already lost, so why bother to vote for her. I guess the press is the real voter, they choose who will be president, the same way they have chosen president Bush. Until press called him front runner he was virtual unknown. Just recall first Bush election.

SENATOR Clinton,
I am an African American man who has voted democrat in every election, except 1984 when I was having surgery. If you should win the nomination this year, I will not cast a vote for president in the general election. Your race baiting has really turned me off and reminds me of the early southern democrats who used race and fear to win elections. Robert E. Farmer

Having just returned from Gary,Indiana where I volunteered to canvas for Hillary, I had the pleasure of meeting a group of intelligent, dedicated and fair-minded people who were working their hearts out because they believe in Hillary Clinton as the best candidate to be our next President. Our headquarters had no computers or copy machines, just organized professionals who knew what they were doing and inspired and lead and recruited volunteers to do all they could to get the vote out for Hillary. A highlight of this experience was meeting Bob Nash, who impressed me as being a first-rate human-being who is bright, capable and doing everything he can to deliver for Senator Clinton, and thereby deliver for America. By America, I mean the country of the people - all of them, even including the poor and disenfranchised. Can you imagine during the Clinton admistration, that Americans would be abandoned to suffer and die in New Orleans? - that totally unqualified people would be installed in positions where they could only insure that Government did not protect and serve the people? I have never volunteered to work for any campaign before this one. Voting and serving the needs of my private psychotherapy practice in NYC had always been enough until now. We have to start recognizing and living the meaning of decency and start distinguishing between the good people of this country and the defective ones, regardless of how much we may envy their money and power, and distinguishing between good people who understand what is at stake in this election and good people who don't get it. Let's help these good people to get it, and lets help isolate and take aim to dis-empower the defective that lack a conscience, that lack what it takes to be a full-fledged human being capable of recognizing the dignity in each of us.
