Giuliani Snags Santorum's Campaign Manager

Vince Galko, formerly Sen. Rick Santorum's campaign manager, is slated to become ex-NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani's regional political director for Northeastern states. Galko is a former exec. dir of the PA GOP and was dep. exec. dir. of Pres. Bush's '04 re-election.

If Giuliani wins the nomination, New Jersey and Pennsylvania would suddenly be in play for Republicans, so the post of NE regional pol. dir is particularly important. It's a post Giuliani's campaign manager, Mike DuHaime, knows well. He was Pres. Bush's northeast regional political director in the '04 campaign. [MARC AMBINDER]

Well you can stick a fork in Giuliani now. Santorum lost by twenty how does this guy help Rudy?

There's this myth, whispered in hushed tones on Republican talk shows, that Santorum is wildly popular "to the base" and Casey's win was a fluke (like I said, it's a myth). In this myth, we Pennsylvanians are too stupid or too insane to understand what a prize Rick was--Kathyn Lopez, a shill on the National Review website was still talking about what a lousy, undeserving campaign Casey had run, days after Casey had run up a 20% win.

As a Pennsylvanian and a Republican, I can tell you that Santorum wore me out with all his opinions. Arlen's about Arlen, and will tell me exactly what I want to hear so long as it keeps him in the Senate. He represents Pennsylvania well.
