Rudy And Hugo

Rudolph Giuliani's law firm lobbies for Citgo Petroleum Corp., a unit of the state-owned oil company controlled by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, the U.S.'s chief antagonist in the Western Hemisphere. (Bloomberg)

1. The firm is called Bracewell Guiliani.

2. Giuliani's spokesperson, in her response to Bloomberg, does not say whether Giuliani
(a) knew about his firm's work for Citgo
(b) knew about his firm's work for Citgo and disapproved
(c) has veto power of his firm's contracts

3. Don't blame Giuliani's current campaign for this political malapropism. But did anyone from his inner circle advisers
bother to object?

4. Perhaps one way to spin this affirmatively for Rudy is to suggest that he wasn't thinking about running for president when the contract was signed and therefore had no reason to vet clients for political sensitivities.

5. As president, would Giuliani negotiate with -- or hold talks with -- Venezuela, Iran or North Korea? If not does he have to explain today the morality of permitting a firm that has his name (and rep) attached to it to do business with Chavez?

Rudy is a all talk and no actions to prove it. In fact his record proves that his actions are totally opposite of what he "claims" to believe in. Here are some examples why Rudy is a WIMP..

- He either supports Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez's views about Bush and US or he opposes them. If Rudy opposes then why is he lobbying for Venezuelan govt's oil firm Citgo? He just can't hide behind the some wimpy logic like "I didn't know about it" or "We represent the Chavez govt but I do not agree with his views". If he owns a firm and as a co-owner he does not even know what his firm is doing then he is horrible at managing a firm. If Rudy can't even manage his own firm then how can he manage a country?

- Remember how Rudy was supposed to be a strong prosecutor and supposed to be strong with law enforcement? If true then why is he wimping out on US Attorney Firing scandal? Why he is refusing to comment on it? As Richard Wolff said, this is a complete egregious abuse of the Patriot Act -- had nothing to do with terrorism. Rudy is the only former US Attorney in the race. So why is he declining to comment? If Rudy can't even comment on this then how can he be elgible to lead the country?

So enough of spinning and using the standard GOP line "my right hang didn't know what the left hand was doing", the evidence shows that Rudy is just not upto the task. Rudy is slowlu turning out to be a joke and he is going to fade. Its going to be either Brownback or Gingrich as GOP nominee.

Negotiate with Venezuela? Why, to stop them from subsidizing heating oil for poor people?

Really, putting Venezuela in the same sentence with Iran and North Korea is beyond shabby, it's downright dishonest.

Guess who else is involved with lobbying for Citgo? Barney Frank and Meehan. You are very selective in your targets, aren't you?

Where's the malapropism? I can't find it.
By the way, Chavez doesn't antagonize me, so they should watch their generalities.
