Fred Thompson's Already Getting Endorsements: What Does This Mean?

Our Missouri affiliate, John Combest Blog.com, passes along two press releases: MO Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder

For President of the United States, I will be backing former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson and urging support for him among friends and colleagues.

Also: the Speaker Pro Tem of the Missouri House has suddenly endorsed Thompson.

Two statewide endorsements from Missouri Republicans in the course of a single weekend? Here's what we think is happening.... either Thompson, or someone operating in his orbit, has started to solicit endorsements in the hope of either pushing Thompson into the race by sheer force of will, or to begin to build momentum towards a Thomson-endorsed presidential candidacy.

With Blunt, Talent, and Jetton already in the Romney camp, does this represent a Missouri Republican Split?

i would like to see Fred run for president i would vote for him most of the rest running is for amnesty for the illegals.

Missouri Voter: Yes, this is most certainly a split in the MO GOP. I can't wait to watch and see what it means for the state at large, particularly for the upcoming governor's race.

Yes I would vote for Mr.Thompson in a minute.I would even campaign for him in Missouri. He is a common sense guy with a back bone.Bring him on,he is my guy.

Thompson is the only sensible person in the USA that would make us a great leader. Wonder if Jetton backed Romney prior to the emergence of Thompson? I urger everyone to get behind Fred Thompson, who is REAL presidential material

Blunt, Talent, and Jetton would certainly be a little quieter, if not fully reverse, their support for romney in the face of a Fred T run. Thompson, unlike romney, would have strong voter support in MO and the entire South. Romney would not even be a contender...not that he is one now anyway.
