Obama: Decision Was Not Correct

From Sen. Barack Obama:

“I strongly disagree with today’s Supreme Court ruling, which dramatically departs from previous precedents safeguarding the health of pregnant women. As Justice Ginsburg emphasized in her dissenting opinion, this ruling signals an alarming willingness on the part of the conservative majority to disregard its prior rulings respecting a woman’s medical concerns and the very personal decisions between a doctor and patient. I am extremely concerned that this ruling will embolden state legislatures to enact further measures to restrict a woman's right to choose, and that the conservative Supreme Court justices will look for other opportunities to erode Roe v. Wade, which is established federal law and a matter of equal rights for women.”

Mr. Obama,

I challenge you to watch a trimester abortion being performed and also one before the trimester being performed. I believe I can get one for of each for you and if I can't, I will find out where I can get one for you. But, I'm sure you will turn my offer down. The name of the videotape for the trimester is "The Rising Sun" if I'm not mistaken. This is murder is the first degree.

To ban abortion is the most horrible discrimination against women.
A female cannot become pregnant by herself.

To sit in judgement of another is the bigger sin.

This very much needs to be seperation of church and state, God will judge, and he doesn't need the help of those that would ban legal abortion.

Lots of date rape, so lets ban sperm.

It,s Three o clock in the morning and the white house phone isn,t ringing.Seems our president sat down and talk to that so called enemy of the U.S.and found a better way to keep us safe.

Women should always have the right to say I'm not ready to be a mom. To force a women to carry something inside of her that she doesn't want is a CRUEL PUNISHMENT. At what point does something turn from sperm and an egg into a thinking, feeling, knowing being that deserves to have it's own choice? After the first trimester. Until then a mother, a woman, a person has the right to decide what will happen IN HER OWN BODY.

Now to come to terms with rape. If a women is raped and becomes pregnant who is the government or anyone else to say that she must have her ATTACKERS BABY! It was not of her choice, so she should still have one. Forcing a women who has been attacked to have that man's baby is like, 1.) having her raped everyday 2.) forcing her to GIVE BIRTH and feel pain for something she does not love fully and 3.) letting that man decide that any woman he wants will have his baby. What are we, simply incubators? Any man could look at a woman and say you will have me baby weather you like it or not. Better yet after the baby is born does he have the right to visitation? Should the mother have to look at her child everyday and think that this is not what she wanted.

After all of these issues the most important issue is that no matter how many restraints you put on a woman she, if she doesn't want the baby, will WILL find a way to end her pregnancy. Allowing women to have the choice to do it SAFELY is the only option.

If your belief is that it is murder to get an abortion than let GOD decide who is guilty and accept the 'spirit' of that baby. It is not your decision to make for all. Don't take the option out of the equation. Those who are against it will not get an abortion but they should not have the power to make that decision for all women.

There is church and there is state. Learn the difference. Learn the difference between freedom and partial freedom.

Personally I believe only women should have a vote on things ONLY women can go through and if your going to a catholic church you are being led by a man. Stop looking up and start looking in. That is where the answer is.

Well, well, well.

"Women should always have the right to say I'm not ready to be a mom." JEANE

Then don't have sex or unprotected sex!!! duh.

All I heard in your selfish post is that YOU don't want to be BURDENED with a baby. It's an inconvenience, so just KILL it. Just treat it like a wart. How selfish of you.

Out of the countless MILLIONS of abortions performed each year, only a small percent were due to rape. So, it does come down to inconvenience.

You speak of decisions. Aren't you making the decision for the life in the womb? All because you don't want to be burdened!!!

Have you ever watched an abortion? I have and it is MURDER. Do your callous heart a favor and watch one before spewing forth nonsense.

Again, if you don't want to get pregnant. Don't have sex or unprotected sex.

Feff - sad, man, real sad.

I always love it, when a man tries to tell women what they have to do. Makes You look so manly, my face turns green.

To the subject:

How ist it that men decide what is and what is not right for women? - Is it really just the fact that those judges are not touched by women losing rights?

I wonder what would happen if it was MEN they had to decide on.

Just let us take this decision a bit further: Women have to get the babies. But after that they are left to their own - often meagre - devices.

I would agree with the judges. - IF they had taken justice where it belongs and not stopped half way. If, say, they had demanded that any state that decides to make abortion harder HAS to offer help to the women to take care of their unwanted children. To offer to take over the children´s education and welfare. But THAT is something judges seem never to do. - To demand commitment from those who take away rights.

I may be an idealist. But if any government takes away the right to freely decide, they HAVE to offer alternatives. If they don´t, what they do is as far from just as a government can get. it means they decide for the people but leave them in the often proverbial cold.

The judges say they want to protect life. - Well, they are doing a terrible job if their idea of saving anyone is to take away their freedom and leave them to their own devices to get by.

It may be just me. But wouldn´t it be safe to say that women would WANT to have more children if that wouldn´t mean ruining their future and present? Wouldn´t it be safe to say that a woman would better like to have a child if that child would be sure to find good prospects for education and jobs?

The government takes away everything needed to make a good living for most everyone. - Ane THEN it says that women have to make it worse by having a child they don´t want.

The right to decide for others is not so easily dealt with. Because in a democracy the right can only be just if it is offset by an equal measure of responsibility. Judges that take rights but also shove the responibility to those whose freedom they just diminished, have no right to call themselves anything realted to just.

As I said: I may be an idealist. But I for one can not see how our current world of gain without any responsibility in any field can work for the good of the people. No matter how much we decide to copy and paste into our own mouthes the words of people gaining from how the world is today, we have to start thinking for ourselves. For our own freedoms and choices.

And taking away those choices from women is a step back in a world that needs to go forward if it wants to survive more than a century.
