Obama Re-Blasts McCain
Here is Sen. Barack Obama's response to Sen. John McCain:
“Progress in Iraq cannot be measured by the same ideological fantasies that got us into this war, it must be measured by the reality of the facts on the ground, and today those sobering facts tell us to change our strategy and bring a responsible end to this war.""No matter how much this Administration wishes it to be true, the idea that the situation in Iraq is improving because it only takes a security detail of 100 soldiers, three Blackhawk helicopters, and two Apache gunships to walk through a market in the middle of Baghdad is simply not credible or reflective of the facts on the ground."
"What we need today is a surge in honesty. The truth is, the Iraqis have made little progress toward the political solution between Shiia and Sunni which is the last, best hope to end this war. I believe that letting the Iraqi government know America will not be there forever is the best way to pressure the warring factions toward this political settlement, which is why my plan begins a phased withdrawal from Iraq on May 1st, 2007, with the goal of removing all combat troops by March 31st, 2008."

More of this please Mr. Obama.
Amen.
Lets compare credibilities of McCain and Obama on Iraq.
Obama: excellent credibility
McCain: no credibility (will say anything and then call his lies "misspeaks")
McCain, your time is over. If you love the surge so much then become Bush's War Czar.
More of this barack. McCain, sadly, learnt nothing from Vietnam.
This is the same McCain who REFUSED to condemn Imus about his racist comments. So McCain stands for escalating war in Iraq and the racist attacks by Imus. He stands for things that are wrong.
Bravo, Barack.
What McCain learned is that there are consequences of failure.
What Obama has learned is pandering to the blogosphere helps you raise cash.
McCain is saying nothing different than from what Joe Biden, Richard Holbrooke and Wesley Clark are saying. Leaving behind a failed Iraqi State endangers far more Americans than continuing to provide security and buy time for the political process to work. If Obama doesn't understand this most basic of truths, he is too stupid to be President.
McCain has lost credibility on Iraq. His Dukakis moment in Baghdad spoke volumes.
Forget it. John McCain is non-starter to me and I voted for him in the 2000 primary in NH. His head in the sand on Iraq has completely turned me off. He's caught the Bush disease.
Kujan- Biden, Holbrooke, and Clark are saying nothing even remotely similar to McCain. However, it is telling that McCain's approval is so low these days that his supporters are now trying to align him with Democrats just to help him gain traction on the Iraq issue.
I love what a hypocrit Obama is. His security detail when he announce he was running was 10 snipers, 3 helicopters flying overhead and ATLEAST 100 guards, a 20 car motorcade with three huge buses and road blocks. That was in Springfield, IL. John McCain was a visiting presidential candidate in a foreign country. How do you think Tony Blair's secirity was when he was in the U.S.? It was about 2 times what McCain had!!! So apparently, by Obama's standards Springfield, IL and Malibu, CA are as dangerous or more than Iraq simply because prominent political figures had security when visiting.
