Behind The Scenes "Excitement" From Tom Tancredo

COLUMBIA -- Can you imagine what Tom Tancredo's campaign manager, Bay Buchanan, said to him after the Ronald Reagan library debate? Our guess is that several of her words had four letters and that her body language was animated. Tancredo missed several opportunities to draw a clear contrast with the rest of the field on his signature issue, immigration.

Tonight, here's one clue that Tancredo will be more aggressive.

He sent this e-mail to his supporter list earlier today:

am sitting in the airport in Chicago, on my way to South Carolina for Tuesday's debate. Of course, there are weather delays, so I thought I would spend the time updating you on the latest excitement from the campaign trail.

Friday in Iowa, I rushed off a plane to a conference on preventing child trafficking. I had no time to change -- so my shirt was creased -- and I followed Senator Brownback who was in a suit and tie. But as the Rocky Mountain News reported, it didn’t matter because when I went in there and spoke plainly about the issues, the crowd response was amazing!

The next day, I joined bikers from across Iowa at the ABATE conference. Next to these bikers, I may have looked out of place, but I felt right at home as we talked about helmet laws, jobs, healthcare, and illegal aliens. I then got to ride the new 2007 Harley Davidson Fatboy. Now, I have a Harley back home but this bike was much bigger, and I was actually worried about rolling it. Turned out to be a great time!

Saturday night, at a townhall meeting, a young lady disapproving of Senator Edwards’ expensive habits, asked me how much my haircuts cost. I was thrilled to show her a card from my local barber with seven hole punches in it. Three more cuts, I told her, and I get one free! She loved the demonstration and so did the press. The AP sent it out over the wire.

But by far, the most uplifting moment of the trip came on Sunday, just after church. A number of congregants approached me and told me that in the fight for conservative values they have been looking for a David; and now they have finally found one.

So last week was very exciting. This week, I will be focused on the First in the South debate in Columbia South Carolina. It would be great if you could watch it, and then write me back with your reactions and suggestions. The debate airs live Tuesday night at 9 PM on the FoxNews channel. My blog will have all the behind the scenes excitement in the hours leading up and regular updates during the debate. Be sure to check it out.

Speaking of the debate…I need to get back to these note cards I am working on. Wish me luck and have a great week!

Thank you so much for all your support.

Tom

This guy is the worst candidate ever, a shame for himself and the great republican party. Among his misdeeds, this guy wants to bomb Mecca (yes, check for yourself), called Miami a third world country, met with white supremacists and sang "dixie" with them, and the list goes on.

And, he came to politics promising to institute a terms limit and he himself broke his own terms limits that he pledged. GOP: Kick this extremist out of the party

Tancredo never said he wanted to bomb Mecca, he said that he would consider attacking a Islamic shrine as retaliation and future determent if America was attacked by a nuclear device. (Look it up) He said massive unchecked illegal immigration was turning Miami into a third world country which it is. He never met with 'white supremacists', he held a campaign event hosted by local Republicans in South Carolina where Dixie was sung. It is the south afterall and they do have a right to celebrate their heritage. Tancredo is one of the few genuine conservative candidates in this race.

Tom Tancredo is finally a Man's Man, with standards and ideals that could make an awesome President. He is not scared of terrorism, wants to face it head on. Is for protecting our boarders and not letting amnesty put illegals ahead of the ones waiting to do it the right way!! (what part of "illegal" do the democrats not understand?) If I did something illegal, I would have to pay for it some way. He has a very high mark for balancing the budget. He is pro guns "2nd Ammendment" YES. I want my right to protect my home and family. Pro-life too. What makes abortion no less horific than the Nazi's murdering millions. We kill more babies everyday than are being killed in all the wars all over the world a day. How pathetic that we don't fear God's judgement for that. No Gay marriage. God did not create Adam and Adam, he created Adam and Eve. He doesn't believe in Evolution which make him one of the 3 smart men in the debate. Only a shallow person with a low IQ would think something so perfect as our universe or world could come from a big bang. Give me a break. I have only seen chaos from explosions, never once something perfect.
If people don't like Christian standards our nation was built on, they should go to another country and stay there. Try Iran or Venenzuala or North Korea. By the way, when was the last time you went to Miami???? We are from the south and proud of our heritage, but we are foremost Americans. To keep America on track I would cast my vote for Tom Tancredo in a heartbeat. "Keep English as Our Official anguage"

Tom Tancredo has kept the flame of resistance to
the ongoing Mexican Folk "Reconquista" alive. He is not always the most charismatic figure, but he has been right to put up a fight...I thank him, and I think he has earned a cetain place in US history. That being said, he could be a "John the Baptist" to a badly needed, AMNESTY "Saviour". We need an iconic candidate to take up the Cudgel against unchecked ILLEGAL immigration, and win in 2008. The 20 plus million ILLEGALS are an immense threat to our future. Sen. Fred Thompson, in my opinion, has the needed flair accept this important ROLE. If Tancredo will gradually cozy up to Thompson and his House peer, Duncan Hunter, we can havea political "TRINITY" of credentialed and credible anti-AMNESTY campaigners! If these three can harmonize their message, and never run-down any of their trio, they can scare the pants off of any "RINO" candidate, friendly to a man I call "BOOSH". They can refer to the MIRACLE that has just happened in FRANCE (of all places !!!) Hunter would be good running mate,or a brilliant Secretary of Defense. Maybe Mitt Romney would fit the group as an attractive V.P. candidate. The fact is, that a sizable part of the GOP are truly disenchanted with "BOOSH", they figuratively pray for his fall from grace, within the Party, along with wishful negative fantasies of bad political & even legal fortune. The F.A.I.R. blog, "Stein Report" must have nearly a hundred ongoing contributors who consider him guilty of "Treason" and worthy of long term incarceration. Granted, they are about as resolute against "Amnesty" as "BOOSH" is implacably for it! An interesting sidelight, here in S.California, is that a few "Left of Al Franken and Bella Abzug" ultra-lib seniors,in my circle of friends, are getting behind Thompson, and making screaming calls to Feinstein and Boxer's staffers over the "AMNESTY" issue. I am seeing spray painted slogans on a few walls against Bush & Amnesty. It seems like, we, in beleaguered California are now we living in "interesting times!"

Good for, "Honest Tom Tancredo".

I think that is the debate where I saw, "Honest Tom" speak openly and candidly on every topic.

It was such a contrast to see many of the other candidates Mexican Hat Dance around the topics. They seemed to carefully word their answers in order to mislead. They acted like someone trying to carny sell us on their positions.

It was excellent. Tom acted like a president and a true world leader. Not the kind the needs to impose his will, but the kind of man that engages in the sort of actions that others may find wise to follow.

On a Sunday morning program, I heard Tom Tancredo express views regarding those who gained illegal entry into this country and I thought it refreshing that he has such a clear perception of what is actually happening to our country as a result of their presence. I cringe whenever I hear the term "immigration" used regarding persons that have gained illegal entry into this country. Each such person should face a minimum 30 days in jail and $1,000 fine that should double for repeated illegally entry in addition to whatever else the law allows. Persons who have brought children accross the desert should face child endangerment charges. I am so tired of taxpayers funding catch and release. Our national security is not a game. If drug activity, identify theft or fake documents are involved they should forfeit any assets in this country. I am against this current bill. "Immigration Reform" does equal amnesty. I am a registered independent voter and I vote.
