Signed, Sealed, Delivered

In a new mailing sent to IA voters today, Barack Obama’s camp notes the Senator voted against the recent “amendment that raises the risk of war with Iran.”

The piece says, “While other Democrats voted for the Kyl-Lieberman Amendment, Barack Obama opposed another Bush foreign policy fiasco.”

The direct-mail piece comes days after Hillary Clinton sent out a similar letter defending her vote on the Iranian Guard, using one of Obama's key supporters, IL Sen. Dick Durbin, to defend her vote [NORA McALVANAH].

Does the Obama camp really hold voters in such low regard that they think he can slam Hillary for a vote he skipped and not be called on it?

Obama missed the vote on Kyl-Lieberman. Not voting is not the same as voting no.

But wait, there's more.

Earlier this year Obama co-sponsored a bill entitled "The Counter-Proliferation Act of 2007." One provision of that bill designated the Iranian Revolutionary Guards identified as a terrorist organization.

Kyl-Lieberman, which Hillary voted for, says Iran is responsible for problems in Iraq and designates the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization.

Desperate times (and flagging poll numbers) call for desperate measures, I guess.
