GOP: 'Clinton Will Give Illegal Immigrants Voting Rights.' Say What?
Fred Thompson and Mike Huckabee are on the same page today in trying to advance the Hillary Clinton driver's license imbroglio:
During the Tuesday Democratic debate, Clinton offered a hazy answer to a question about Gov. Eliot Spitzer's proposal to offer limited licenses to illegal immigrants, opening up an angle of attack for Democrats. But the issue is proving fertile ground for Republicans as well.
Thompson and Huckabee are now saying that her position would give illegal immigrants voting rights. (Think Motor Voter.) It's not surprising to see Republicans pounce on HRC for this – after all, it links up nicely with one of the GOP’s key campaign issues: immigration. So by going after Hillary, Thompson and Huck accomplish two things – they hit Hillary on an issue that’s made her vulnerable to attack from her Democratic cohorts and hit on an issue that polls well with their Republican base.
Per NBC/NJ's Adam Aigner-Treworgy ... Flanked by a mechanical bull on one side and the "Cowgirl's Restroom" on the other, Thompson today in Nevada:
"I never thought I'd see Hillary Clinton get pinned down and have to answer a controversial question," Thompson said to laughter and applause. "She finally came around and said that in fact it was a good idea to give illegals driver's licenses. If you can imagine that…We might as well, uh, give driver's licenses, which along with a Motor Voter law that we have now that says when you register to vote you get an opportunity to uh, I mean when you get your driver's license you get an opportunity to register to vote. So, you know what that's going to lead to."
Meanwhile, during a radio interview with National Journal Contributing Editor Linda Douglass, Huckabee pitched a similar position.
"I think that’s a big mistake because if a driver’s license is also the basis of being able to vote, the next thing you have would be illegal people voting. Voting is a precious right of a citizen. It is absolutely not the privilege that should be extended to somebody who is not a citizen of this country, period."
Douglass's full interview with Huck will air tomorrow on National Journal On Air at 1 p.m.

Since we already have government agreements in place with Mexico regarding SS payments, why not give them the right to vote, since a lot of the long term illegals think that the longer they stay here the will be grand-fathered and since they own homes and cars they already are trying to vote now ,there was an item in Dade City, FL, where an illegal was voted into a government position and then tried to run for a council position in Homestead FL, and nobody checked, since she claimed to have lived her for 25 years.How many more of these cases are out there, or how many people get their DL by taking an interperter who answers the questions correctly and the person is issued a license and still can't speak or read english.
Hillary has dug herself into a big hole she will not be able to get out of. Giving driving and voting privileges to illegal aliens is pure lunacy. Whether Dems believe it or not, immigration is going to be a top issue. I know many Americans, who are fed up with all the illegals running around, who want the laws enforced and illegal immigration stopped. I will NOT be voting Democratic if they continue with their illegal-loving policies. Its time all candidates start respecting Americans instead of pandering to the illegals.

DIPSs (formerly the Democratic Party who I now call the Democratic Illegal Party) wanting illegals to VOTE? Eight of the 911 hijackers were registered to vote.

Mexico does not allow noncitizens to vote either. In fact Mexico does not allow non-citizens to be a part of any political activities, ie marches etc. Yes, people from the U.S. have been expelled for this.
The U.S. Constitution is why non-citizens are not allowed to vote in federal elections.

This issue should be cut and dry and the politicians are waffaling because none of them have the guts to do what is good for this country...why??? because they know illegals are voting eventhough they shouldn't have the right to. If your drivers liscence is suspended, you will get arrested for driving because it is a privaledge, If you are here illegally, why should you be able to vote...that is insanity.

I am so sick and tired of our government allowing illegals to drain our systems. I cannot believe they use them for votes? Worse yet, they are illegal, and yet give them the right to vote? This is insanity. Not to mention, giving them amnesty? Allowing them to suck our financial resources dry? What is wrong with this country? And what ever happened to becoming a working member of the community and working for what you want and need? Whose gonna pay for me if I go broke and I'm a citizen who speaks English. I detest the fact that we have spent so much money on hiring bi-linguals...It is an insult to this nation what the government is allowing...and all for votes. Not one candidate to me, wants to better this situation for the American public...hospitals are closing...b/c they take advantage of going to hospitals for free medical care. It's this sense of entitlement they own, which will cause hatred and divid the country. And we're supposed to be safer then we were during 911...they didn't do a thing to close off our boarders????? Our immigration system is a joke.
