Pregnant Pause

It was, in this reporter's opinion, the most interesting moment in today's Clinton campaign phoner with reporters. Responding to the release of HRC's new TX TV ad, which asserts in no subtle terms that only she has the experience to deal with a major world crisis, and, relatedly, to keep your children safe, Slate's John Dickerson asked the obvious question:

"What foreign policy moment would you point to in Hillary's career where she's been tested by crisis?" he said.

Silence on the call. You could've knit a sweater in the time it took the usually verbose team of Mark Penn, Howard Wolfson and Lee Feinstein, Clinton's national security director, to find a cogent answer. And what they came up with was weak -- that she's been endorsed by many high ranking members of the uniformed military.

Take a listen ...

The same thing happened on CNN. The Hillary supporters just had the "deer in the headlights" look.

Your headline said "Pregnant" another anti-feminist post!

Complaining about the use of "pregnant" as being "anti-feminist" shows either a lack of knowledge of the possible meanings of that word, or a deliberately obtuse and biased perspective.

Please look it up. "Carrying developing offspring" is one definition; there are several more, including "weighty or significant"; "of great or potentially great import"; "fraught; replete"; "creative or inventive"; and "potentially productive."

We Obamanians are seeing the world through inclusive lenses, and it's a far more beautiful place when viewed that way. Try it, you might like it!

Barack Obama: All drive, no ditches.

Umm, I'm guessing the "Pregnant" comment was meant as a joke.

Oh, and the moment of silence....priceless. How could her campaign NOT see this question coming and have an answer??

Makes the Kirk Watson moment look good... at least he didn't try to make something up...

This is why Slate/Salon and the web news sites are so much better than the MSM.

Ridiculous premise. Recall this country had in mind citizen representation in all houses of government, not to be denied because one lacked either royal blood or military crisis experience.

Joe Biden with Milosevic; Biden for VP!!

She has "participated in some international things"? How embarrassing.

So after a long time, they come up with her speaking out on women's rights in China once. And some generals, who are all highly decorated and stuff, who support her cause, ya know. Classic.

"Maybe, Lee, eh, you wanna go through some of those?"

LOL. (And then, note, he doesn't..)

This is hilarious in its revelatory nature. Ten minutes of hemming, hawwing and absolute nothing from the campaign team that brought you the scoop on Barack Obama's scandalous kindergarden essays.

Don't forget the other half of her team's response. They also said she showed leadership by giving a SPEECH in China about women's rights. Have they no shame, or at least a dictionary with the word 'irony' in it?

hahaha

Love It.

I agree with Obama: The only pressing decision she's ever had to make was the war vote.

Does anyone else have Clinton fatigue besides me?

Lets turn the page already!!

Obama 2008

And Hillary has the audacity to tell us she is ready "day 1" ?

And the great Jennifer Skalka anti-Clinton nonsense continues unabashed!

What's Obama done in this area? Give me a break.

Hillary was tested by many crises over the last twenty years: Whitewater, mena drug connections, Monica Lewinsky, Vince Foster murder, and so on. It seems she's followed by crises wherever she goes!

Mountain. Molehill.

Jen, this post and the "pregnant pause" title is totally contrived and pathetic. And Jen, your injecting opinion on what you think is WEAK? You ignore the main point they made about her historic speech about Women's Rights in China! HOW COULD YOU IGNORE THAT AND CALL THEIR RESPONSE WEAK?!?!?!

Total crap. I am shocked. Ok, actually, I'm NOT shocked given your track record here. But your past poor reporting and clear bias against Hillary are shameful.

It is just unfathomable to me that you, a young liberated woman, would fail to see the genuine -- and bipartisan -- praise that Hillary received after delivering that ballsy speech in 1995.

Jen, and everyone else, I think you'd better read this article before you diss her on this issue (complete with high praise from BOTH sides of the aisle), and that goes double for Obama supporters:

query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=990CEFDF133DF935A3575AC0A963958260

Bottom line: I'd like to see *any of you* -- including you Jen -- give a speech on ANYTHING to a conference that included 5,000 Chinese Communist representatives.

Once again -- and I had recently commended on what I thought was better reporting from Jen of late -- I find myself APPALLED at not just Jen's horrific bias, but her total disregard for FACTS on the issue at hand.

Shame on you, Jen. Shameful and poor. *shakes head in disbelief*

[For the record, I support Hillary but voted for Obama in my primary... I just believe that the press is OBLIGATED to report ACCURATELY even when injecting opinion]

All talk - No Substance this time from Hillside! Really Hillarious!!

she made a speech in China. But I thought speeches were bad?

By their logic we should vote for Rudy. Blech.

There was a great line in Newweek

"The Clinton post Feb 5th strategy reminds us of the Bush post Iraq invasion strategy - non-existent"

I LOVE watching libs spins themselves into such a tither.

It's in interviews like this that McCain will squash either of the completely unqualified democratic nominees.

I, John McCain, do solemly swear that I will support & defend...

Lewinsky is sort of a foreign name, so you could say that was a foreign policy crisis.

So she cut her teeth on that.

Ugh,ugh, ugh, Answer the question!

Are all her endorsements going to be sleeping
in bed with her at 3:00am in the morning?

She supposedly claims that "she" can make the most important decisions at the spur of the moment. She better hope all her endorsements they just listed have their blackberrys on!
Answer the question, don't evade it.

Hilarious! They don't answer the question.

And FYI, Hilary's work at Beijing in 1995 was nothing special. She just was a figure head. Other women who were there did the work.

I'm not hearing of any experience here boys....way to go!

Maybe I'm missing something in reading the comments of those praising Clinton's speech in China. The question posed by the ad was clearly on how a 3AM crisis would be handled. The planning, protection and speechwriters involved in a ceremony takes a little less snap judgement than how to deal with a middle of the night call saying that the worst possible thing has just happened. So who is the empty suit?

McCain's gonna' wipe the floor with these two wannabe's.

How in the world is giving a planned speech to a receptive audience of her fellow feminists in a country that we now know was a willing Clinton contributor an example of decisive action in the face of a foreign policy crisis? The rest of the rambling response is just as relevant.

I am no McCain supporter but his prisoner of war experience makes this seem more than a little silly.

...what a lame answer.

Oh, and the reason her team has no response prepared is that they are used to fielding non-substantive questions posed by a friendly media. The debate skills of the Dems have gone soft over the last few decades without having any direct challenges from a media that thinks like they do. That's really why they avoid Fox, IMO, and why the internet with its back and forth is so much more interesting than the MSM. The only reason Hillary is getting any tougher treatment these days is that Obama has changed the game.

I guess women in China -- and elsewhere around the world -- being slaughtered, imprisoned and tortured is NOT a crisis??? Talk about twisting the rhetoric. You righties make it sound like human rights don't matter one bit (oh wait, according to your idiot Prez, they DON'T).

Since most of you, who responded to the China link I posted, are willing to succumb to your own ignorance, this is for the rest of the thinking people who may be reading this:

"""""...Mrs. Clinton expanded on a theme that Pakistan's Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto, raised on Monday when she told the delegates that violence against women thrives when there is a "crisis of silence and acquiescence." ...

Continuing with references to domestic violence, genital mutilation, coercive abortions and sterilizations, Mrs. Clinton told the delegates from more than 180 countries, "If there is one message that echoes forth from this conference, let it be that human rights are women's rights and women's rights are human rights, once and for all.

...This is a United Nations conference and she was speaking out on a global problem."

...

Representative Christopher H. Smith, Republican of New Jersey, who had called on Mrs. Clinton to speak out against "barbaric and egregious" human rights abuses in China during this trip, said he was satisfied to a great extent with her speech, but believed she could have been even more specific in criticizing China's abuses. He called her speech "eloquent" and praised her for "raising the issue" in China.

Still, the impact of the speech seemed to reverberate through the hall.""""""

As Jen wrote, the ad in question is a comment on what Hillary sees as a strength of hers in that "only she has the experience to deal with a major world crisis"....

I don't think the ad states that ONLY she is capable, but the point is CLEARLY that she IS capable to handle major crises, and that she is probably the MOST capable given her experience over the decades with foreign affairs. Which, contrary to what the GOP head-in-the-sand folks believe, she actually does have considerable foreign policy chops.

As for John McCain, what has he ever done in crisis in his political career? Again, in his political career, NOT his time as a captive, but his political career, there is a big difference (and I commend him for that service, but it has NO bearing on being a decision-making elected official whatsoever). So can anyone answer me that? Let's see, 9/11 happens, he supports INVADING AND OCCUPYING the WRONG COUNTRY and still does so 6 years later and after 3,973 dead US GIs, an estimated $3 TRILLION price tag, and countless dead Iraqi civilians and displaced individuals.

Real good. Can't wait for 4 more years of THAT kind of leadership. Ha. What? We're running our country into the ground, running our military into the ground, and depleting immense amounts of money from our Treasury? Let's have 100 YEARS of THAT! Hahaha. Just bizzarre. Gotta love the headstrong GOP commenters here... but you are truly deluded if you think your Cowboy Diplomacy attitude is going to help your candidate in the General. haha. Good luck with that.

They didn't have an answer for this question, because she does not have any personal 3 AM crisis moments. This just shows how weak their position is currently, they were forced to pull out the "Big Gun" advertisement that really should be run by an incumbent. Unfortunately for them, the big gun is a little too big to handle at the moment.

Do not forget, Obama replied with nearly the same commercial, but he was actually able to point to something good judgment during a stressful time. Regardless, his examples still fail to meet the 3 AM criteria of the ads. His ad is stronger than hers.

Both candidates need to avoid running this ad against McCain.

Ethan,

I gather that you don't approve of the Iraq war, but it's true that Saddam was a purveyor of just the kind of human rights abuse to which you suggest Republicans are indifferent: violence, torture, rape, arbitrary imprisonment and killing, etc. Why doesn't the left at least acknowledge that Saddam was a monster worth removing, and that someone finally took office who was willing to do it?

Leftists talk the talk, but the U.S. Marines walk the walk.

Is the video still active? I can't get it to play.

Ethan
After 911 we did not attack the wrong nation, We invaded Afghanistan. Perhaps you were asleep between 9/11/2001 and March 2003?..Now as far as attacking the wrong nation I point to the 1998 US Indictment of BinLaden for the Embassy Attacks.Clinton attacked Iraq and Serbia in 1998. Nice.

>>>Why doesn't the left at least acknowledge that Saddam was a monster worth removing, and that someone finally took office who was willing to do it?

Please, your "logic" is rife with fallacy. Everyone agrees Saddam was a monster. He was militarily contained. He could not so much as throw a rock outside Iraq's boundaries. Yes there were abuses in Iraq that were deplorable, but we did not go in to liberate the Iraqis. We went in to remove Saddam of WMDs that did not exist. Don't you remember that?! Or are you just being intellectually dishonest like your President?

Our mission was to STOP AL QUAEDA in Afghanistan. Instead we diverted the mission, then tortured and killed our way in Iraq to a stronger Al Quaeda that is still rampant today in Pakistan. We never got Bin Laden. We have allowed the Taliban to control 10% of Afghanistan and anarchic tribes to control another 60% of the country. While the USA and NATO control a pathetic 30% in and around Kabul, with opium poppies completely out of control and funding the Taliban resurgence.

Why won't the Right at least acknowledge any of that? We've been having this discussion for 6 years and people like you.

>>>Leftists talk the talk, but the U.S. Marines walk the walk.

God, your politicization of military forces is not only disgusting and insulting, but it denigrates the very political freedom THAT THE MARINES FIGHT FOR. I support the U.S. Marines. I do not support you or your ignorance.

John Dickerson is the man. He's the one who stumped Bush years ago by asking what mistake he's ever made.

They didn't see it coming because she is slotted to win-we don't need these kinds of questions because the elite have YOUR slvery, er, destiny already planned. So we don't need those kinds of questions! Silly people.

I was in NYC watching the towers fall with my own eyes, where were you?

>>>and March 2003?

Protesting the worst policy decision in US history, where were you?

>>>Now as far as attacking the wrong nation I point to the 1998 US Indictment of BinLaden for the Embassy Attacks.

Clinton responded by attacking the AQ camps. And the GOP complained about 'Wag the Dog'. How did Bush respond to the Cole? Oh wait, he didn't. He cut counter terrorism programs. Nice.

>>>Clinton attacked Iraq and Serbia in 1998.

Clinton was managing the no-fly zone in Iraq and stopping ethnic cleansing in Serbia. And yeah, that IS nice.

I can't believe we are still talking about these absurd GOP logical fallacies after all these years.

What about Bill's 'fellatio' moment? Doesn't that count?

Since when is giving an admittedly courageous speech on women's rights in China, the equivalent of having having the experience and judgment to deal with a crisis like that envisioned in the red phone/3am call. "where's the beef"! I she gets a call, how long will she take to write a position paper on it?

"Clinton responded by attacking the AQ camps. And the GOP complained about 'Wag the Dog'. How did Bush respond to the Cole? Oh wait, he didn't. He cut counter terrorism programs. Nice."

Yes, I continue to have these non-sensical arguments with pathetic liberals, too. Lobbing a few bombs at a couple of empty tents does not constitute a proper response to terrorism. And I believe the Cole attck happened on Clinton's watch, too.

How can you claim to be better when you have the
same nonexistent record to stand on as your opponent? Is
Hillary simply inferring that Bill will be "around" and thus
voters can be more assured of an experienced actor being
present? I hope so, I would hate to think that its playing on
enduring stereotypes of blacks as untrustworthy, irresponsible
and intellectually lazy? I fear that we have might have gone
from the "kitchen sink" to the toilet.

Funniest thing I've heard today. Just shows again what an empty pantsuit she is.

Yea, reading from a prepared text at a women's conference in China when she was the First Lady of the US is to be considered as being tested under crisis? Wow!

She's a lot of poll-tested hot air than anything else.

>>>Lobbing a few bombs at a couple of empty tents does not constitute a proper response to terrorism.

As you well know, the GOP was crying Wag the Dog (effectively tying his hands and preventing a more thorough military response). At least you don't refute the historical fact.

>>>And I believe the Cole attck happened on Clinton's watch, too.

And as you well know also, the determination as to that attack was delivered to Condi Rice and George Bush. And they did nothing (but CUT COUNTER TERRORISM PROGRAMS). Another point you do not refute.

Thank you for at least not refuting key historical facts.

Remember the jackasses who claimed "Election Stolen!" because they were somking pot during the Social Studies class that taught us about the Electoral College? Now that those people have found out that their own political party have the same thing under the name "Super Delegates", where is all the cries for "RECOUNT! FRAUD! RECOUNT!"......oh, right, since its your guy who is benefiting from this "fraud", suddenly its no longer called "fraud".

So I guess what they're trying to say is:

Its 3 am. The phone ring. Its a foreign crisis. Hillary will be able to tell Prime Minister Putin that she was endorsed by a bunch of generals.

Pretty weak stuff from the Clinton team.....

Hillary can't even mount a competent leadership campaign. How does this prove her "leadership"?
She reneges on signed agreements on election rules.
She uses stealth racist attacks on her opponent.
She has accomplished nothing. And her haughty disregard for her New York constituents has been apparent from Day 1 of her Senatorial career.
She is sadistically pro-Iraq war. She has nothing to say about a million dead Iraqis. She is only sorry America is losing in Iraq.
She is an incompetent politician. She changes her moral stance according the flavour of the week.
She supports Bush and then tries to deny it.
She will lose in Texas.
Her own political career means more to her than the good and future of her own country.
She is arrogant.
She is a poor communicator.
She is uninspiring.
She is shrill, nagging and abrasive.
She hyperventilates when angry.
Canada is praying she loses.

@Andrew from Canada | 03.01.08 04:25 PM

Why be so wordy, Andrew--why not just say that she's a real bitch?

I can't believe you are all making light of Hillary's speech in China. After all, it takes quite a bit of courage to stand up against your fundraising base.

Wow Ethan, thanks for pointing out that Clinton's hands were tied and he couldn't have a more thorough response.

This shows the problem with his Presidency:

Unable to make decisions based upon what is right but rather what the polls tell him.

Had he not compromised the postion of the Presidency there would have never been a problem. I wonder how many other important decsions were compromised by his actions?

Don't go blaming anyone else either. The simple fact is that Clinton (the Clinton's as well) never took responsibility for his own actions.

Examples:

I did not inhale.
It all depends on the meaning of the word is is.
It's all a vast right wing conspiracy.
I did not have sexual relations with that woman.

This is one of the downfalls of Bush. The fact that he has never backed away from any of his decisions and admit when he made mistakes. There are many examples including his loyalties to people like Rumsfeld.

Now if he could just lay the blame on everyone else....

When they keep having to [hack, hack] clear their throats, that's always a dead giveaway.

An expert ways in on Hillary's television ad.

Are these campaigns to see who has the 'leadership' and 'management' team to run a democracy and economy ? Obamama as statesman is so far ahead of Hillary and her campaign I feel is over. They are getting desperate and dirty now, but they have no where to go. Unless America gets a smarter leader with charisma to appeal to market, the USA economic future is all in reverse. You have had a complete Jackass running the country into the ground and waging war, killing and torturing people. How could you put in such an idiot. America has lost the meaning of democracy and does not need another tyrant in power, as another one will continue to alienate it from the rest of the world. The world is going forward, except for USA, Afghanistan and Iraq which you have completely screwed over. How many innocent people do you have to kill, to feel in control when really are losing it. But to feed the $475 billion a year defense industry probably needs a leader who wants to invade and control so business is good in this area. Lets hope you dont vote them in, this time and America can rebuild its manufacturing base and respect in the world.

Once again gentlemen, the question is "What foreign policy moment would you point to in Hillary's career where she's been tested by crisis?"

This campaign is a complete and utter disaster, a total failure. What a bunch of highly paid losers has Hillary roped in to run her campaign!

>>>thanks for pointing out that Clinton's hands were tied and he couldn't have a more thorough response

I assume there is sarcasm in that comment, but you have to know that political pressure DOES figure in to Presidential decision-making on both sides of the aisle. To ignore that fact is simply not accurate. It seems most people ignore that, but it is very much a reality. Btw, I in no way approve of BC's actions. He lied to a Grand Jury like an idiot and got caught in his own web. However, it IS also true that the entire escapade was a Republican-driven witch hunt. The entire episode reeks, and I believe is one of the most tragic examples of partisanship in my life time.

>>>This is one of the downfalls of Bush. The fact that he has never backed away from any of his decisions and admit when he made mistakes.

I agree. He is stubborn and arrogant, and it would be no big deal if his behavior didn't have real-world consequences. But they do. And he will be known as the worst President in US history.

As for BC, I think he was easily one of the best in the modern era (jobs, economy), however, the Lewinsky episode, NAFTA, and the inability to neutralize Bin Laden (regardless the rationale) clearly are damaging to his legacy. I think his campaigning for Hillary will also damage his reputation. But again. 20+ million jobs + budget surplus make his 8 years as President one of the most fruitful and prosperous in modern history.

I appreciate your comments bystander. I do have partisan feelings, obviously, but I also try to weigh as much historical fact as possible in coming up with my views. I wish there was more of that intellectual honesty coming from the GOP. If there was, we would not be in this hyper-partisan era that has unequivocally weakened our country.

Lewinsky was clamped on to Bill while he was on the phone with some foreign leader. Maybe that was the crisis that tested her. But I forgot, Hillary never knew that Monica was in their bed with them.

Howard B. believes Hillary is just an empty pantsuit, when all the visual evidence shows he is absolutely wrong. She fills up every inch of her pantsuit and then some. Two million unpaid for donuts is all the evidence you need.

Jeez. That's pathetic. Reminds me a bit of that uncomfortable moment with the Obama surrogate on Chris Matthews -- except these people here aren't just Clinton surrogates, they're the people in charge of her freaking campaign!

Dems, do you want the Democratic Party to AGAIN "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory" come November?

The Clintons caused the 2000 defeat of their own Party, and the ENABLING OF THE 8-YEAR BUSH-WHACKING OF AMERICA; by debasing the Oval Office, destroying their own White House legacy, turning off the American voters and denying Al Gore!

Once AGAIN, the Clintons are trying to DESTROY THE CHANCES OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY by prolonging the INEVITABLE!

So, Dems, put your attention on the final stake been driven into the heart of the witch, come Super Tuesday redux. lol

We should not want 4 more years of McBush just to satisfy the PERSONAL & THIRD TERM AMBITIONS of the self-centered and self-absorbed Clintons!

BC the "best" president of the modern era? If you don't count the fact that the prosperity he built was foisted upon him by a Republican congressional majority + the empty calories of the dot com revolution. But I think you left out the manipulation of export laws to allow the sale of satellite technology to the Chinese, the abuse of campaign finance laws that allowed AG to take millions from Buddhist monks (gee wonder where they got it from)the Elian Gonzales fiasco, Waco, and the fact that his adventures with Monica should have been prosecuted under the sexual harassment laws that BC himself signed. And there is that impeachment thing too. Yep, he must be the better than Harry, or Dwight, or John. Oh look, a partisan right winger named two Democrats and one Republican as better Presidents than Slick Willie. You mo.

Whoever said that making a speech barely foreign policy--its really telling them what our policies are, and then walking away, hoping that they maybe agree with us. Not that I support the man, but what if Bush had travel to Pakistan to give a speech following the 9/11 attacks? Would this have been an acceptable response? Would it be a foreign policy? No. It would have been a speech. Did H. Clinton enact trade embargoes or other punitive measures resulting from their humanitarian "crisis?"

Further, by definition (dictionary.com) "crisis" refers to a "turning point" or "a condition...leading to change." By this definition, women's rights in China are NOT a crisis--women's rights have (nearly) always been threatened in China, nor have we seen any change following H. Clinton's response to this "crisis."

The "Gettysburg's Address" was not a domestic policy, no matter how much "courage" or "strength" it took Lincoln. The "Emacipation Proclaimation" WAS domestic policy. (From dictionary.com)Policy= a course of action adopted and pursued by a government. Hence a single action can never be policy.

BTW, I am a liberal, a women's rights activist, and a leftist philosopher. I am not criticizing H. for her liberalism, nor am I claiming that women's rights are a non-point. What I am claiming is that giving a speech is nothing more than something to ease one's conscience, to say, "I've done what I can do" and leave it at that. If I were, in fact, to criticize her liberalism, it would be that she is not liberal enough. She, by giving a speech, and only that, implicitly acknowledges her complacency in these matters.

Finally, Obama may not have any MORE foreign policy experience, but he is not claiming to have any. Hence, disproving his claim is not at issue. However, H. is making that claim. Hence, the validity of that claim requires verification. "It is far better to keep one's mouth shut and appear stupid, that it is to open it and remover all doubt."

Where is the pause? Didn't sound very long to me.
She has the EXPERIENCE;
Obama has NONE.When asked about 'personal crises' that prepared them for office during the debate--Hillary has been under attack by the right wing conservatives for 15 years--
Obama replied:
Well, i was raised by a SINGLE MOTHER...??
LOL. Hysterical.

They never answered the question. I have a lot of friends that are doctors, but that doesn't give me the experience of a doctor.

Just words? Just a speech. Actions not words. Right, Hillary?

Hillary's campaign is all out contradicting themselves. Do we really need this kind of disorganization in the White House?

Clinton and her lackeys speak volumes but say nothing. It is however, quite amusing to see her squirm for once. It's just unfortunate that we have three liberals running for President.

Why let them ramble on like that? It is embarrassing. John should interrupt Lee's long convoluted answer. Please sir, answer the question.

I cannot stop laughing. This is hilarious...and another classic example of the Clinton team tripping themselves up with their own BS.

Hillary's so called experience is just the biggest joke. Just look at how she is running her campaign, how she fumbled the healthcare task in the 1990s, and her vote for war in Iraq.

She is overrated because of the Clinton brand.

Um, the uh, the uh, very, uh.

Good job, guys.

She's not even going to get enough votes to surreptitiously steal the primary against public opinion. I bet she goes down kicking and screaming, there's no way she would concede gracefully at this point.

Vote Obama in the big sham election in November! It won't really matter anyway cause the government's all corrupt and paid for by business interests.

Democracy's dead guys; we've become something far worse. Sorry to be the one to break the news to you. We hold the world to a hypocritical double-standard - that we have the right to invade at our discretion, but not vice-versa. The rest of the civilized world is horrified that we've declared an open state of war, expanded executive power including warrant-less wiretapping of our own civilians, and detained people outside of the laws afforded to civilians OR POWs, not to mention government-sanctioned torture (and you know there's more of that than you're hearing about). But no one can rebuke us, and accuse us of drifting dangerously close to fascism; indeed to do so would invite certain destruction.

The next step is, they'll start imprisoning people just for dissent. The news is already pillow-soft and avoids the major issues, the only free press exists on the web and even THAT is chiefly a cesspool of misinformation. Free speech is next. Just wait and see.

"In order for a country to be truly free, people must be responsible and fair-minded. Right now, I believe the Internet is taking us in the opposite direction. And there are few voices speaking up against it."

-Bill O' Reilly

Isn't this the same woman who when she was First Lady dispised the Military and wouldn't even let the military members wear their uniforms in the White House. Cankles is a leftist pig and she will hopefully be toast soon. Oh, and Barry is a used car salesman and not CIC material.

For those of you that still say Hillary is ready on day one.....give me a break.

The only testing she's been through is with Bill's transgressions.

Most of you seem to miss the obvious. Noone answered the red phone. It rang through the whole commercial. That just shows the judgement-or lack therof- of the Clinton campain.

If that were Hillary answering the question, you would here a moment of silence, followed by a loud 'cackle'.

If that were Hillary answering the question, you would here a moment of silence, followed by a loud 'cackle'.

It makes you wonder why so many smart people don't even bother voting. All lies all the time.

They didn't point to a moment where she's been tested by crisis in a foreign policy context. And given where the race is at the moment, that means only one thing: there isn't such a moment. So all this bluster about being tested is just blather. Blather. Dear me. Well we all knew this already right? The only way to attack her opponents on inexperience is for her to claim experience, and since she hasn't got it. well there it is. "Next".

Too funny. That was the best! Thanks for sharing. Would be a great SNL skit! Can't believe the Hillary campaign didn't have an answer for the question that obviously would be prompted by the "red phone" ad. They weren't prepared to spin her much "bally-hooed" foreign policy experience. Hillary ought to sue her strategy team. They have not served her well. LOL!

i just hope that CNN,FOX, MSNBC, et al will replay this as often as they did the kirk watson incident. what a joke of a candidate she has proven herself to be!

OBAMA '08!

Hillary's ad is not good for the Democratic Party. My opinion has nothing to do with Barack. Hillary is dividing the Democratic party, which is why she is known for divisiveness. She has run such an ugly campaign against her Democratic opponent, that I cannot in all consciousness vote for her in the general election, if she wins.

The Clintons leave a nasty taste in many people's mouth. They are ugly, bullies, and mean spirited. They feel entitled to rule the country. After her, it will be Chelsea - then back to Jeb Bush. I want so badly to break the cycle of this meanness.

This election is a win-win for Barack, because the American people will be able to look back on this campaign and see that his intentions were to only become President of the United States, not to belittle or undermine anybody in the process.

Not only Clinton fatigue but her team!
Oh well, these people are weaker than she and they are advising her. No wonder Obama is winning easily.
This is incredible.
What a joke her campaign has been all along.

When Hillary tried to push the plagiarism issue, she employed a double standard... Barack was running on his rhetoric, so his words needed to meet a higher standard. This wasn't true of course. He never said vote for me, I speak well, though of course it is his abilities as a public speaker that has attracted many voters.

Hillary on the other hand has run specifically on the issue of READY ON DAY ONE, and here it is DAY ONE THOUSAND of the campaign and her top advisors can't come up with one specific example that shows her ability to respond to a crises. The stand she took in China was brave, but does anyone doubt it was planned and orchestrated. It's not responding to a sudden and immediate threat.

They flunked this one, and it ain't the first time.

Hillary will be ready on day one, Jan. 21 to continue her service in the United States Senate.

To Ethan,

So Hillary gave a "ballsy speech" and you laud this as something important in terms of an international crisis. Well, as per Hillary and here campaign, giving good speeches are to be demeaned and words don't matter. Ironic that her supporters would laud her for a speech and then harangue Obama for his speeches. Forked tongues!!!

www.whyobamaworks.com

Ethan,

I've got just one question for you: Do you want this country managed like the Hillary Clintoon 2008 campaign? (budgetary problems, Bill off the leash, divisive 50+1% triangulation) Well, do ya?

What track record Hillary has separate from Bill's is a disaster.

The country is narrowly dodging a bullet here.

"Bottom line: I'd like to see *any of you* -- including you Jen -- give a speech on ANYTHING to a conference that included 5,000 Chinese Communist representatives."

Boy, as a conservative I'd love that opportunity.

I'd rip their g.d. faces off and shove them down their throats.

My guess... none of them understood a word in either case. The Chinese just sit their and listen to McLiberal or McConservative from the USA and think about their "5000 years of culture".

"she made a speech in China. But I thought speeches were bad?"

Only eloquent ones!!

Some ask what are Barack Obama's accomplishments.
He is not Hillary
He has promised to end the war
He is way over four feet tall
He is way less than 100 years old
There are some others but nobody cares.

She made a speech to China, but they didn't broadcast it, they just wanted the publicity of having her name at their convention.

This is getting funny. Now we know why we never hear about the good things Hillary has done. Look at this blog as an example, a perfect place for Hillary and her people to correct the record and even here, after 4 days, no one has been able to do. Guess her campaign is so focussed on the smears (cropping photos in Congress to claim a snub, an archive of Republican advertisements of a family sitting around a table, interviews with kindergarten teachers in Indonesia...) that they forgot to think about Hillary actually being qualified. Even I can think of some good replies, but that's for Hillary's campaign to do.

Here are some of Obama's Senate legistlative successes:

Legislation Passed in US Senate

* Lugar-Obama Act to decrease nuclear and conventional weapons proliferation around the world.

* Coburn-Obama Transparency Act transparency in federal spending, found at httP://www.usaspending.gov

* Cosponsored the Healthy Kids Act of 2007 and the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) Reauthorization Act of 2007 to ensure that more American children have affordable health care coverage.

* Obama worked to pass a number of laws in Illinois and Washington to improve the health of women. His accomplishments include creating a task force on cervical cancer, providing greater access to breast and cervical cancer screenings, and helping improve prenatal and premature birth services.

* As a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs, Obama passed legislation to improve care and slash red tape for our wounded warriors recovering at places like Walter Reed. He passed laws to help homeless veterans and offered an innovative solution to prevent at-risk veterans from falling into homelessness. Obama passed legislation to stop a VA review of closed PTSD cases that could have led to a reduction in veterans' benefits. He passed an amendment to ensure that all service members returning from Iraq are properly screened for traumatic brain injuries

* Congo: Obama and Leahy successfully passed an amendment to provide $13 million in assistance to the DRC for military reform and election assistance. The bill also provided the the US policy is to oppose and fight against the rape and killings of women that is a particular horror there. Obama has recently sent a letter to Sec. Rice demanding a report of their efforts there.

* Darfur

* Introduced Patriot Employer Act, August 2007, to reward companies for keeping jobs in the US

* As a member of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions committee, Obama helped pass legislation in the recent improvements to the Higher Education Act to increase the maximum Pell Grant award to $5,10.

* Obama passed legislation with Senator Jim Talent (R-MO) to give gas stations a tax credit for installing E85 ethanol refueling pumps.

* Obama sponsored an amendment that became law providing $40 million for commercialization of a combined flexible fuel vehicle/hybrid car within five years.

* Congressional ethics legislation, called the Gold Standard of ethics reform, passed by Obama and Feingold that ending subsidized corporate jet travel, mandating disclosure of lobbyists' bundling of contributions, and enacting strong new restrictions of lobbyist-sponsored trips. The Washington Post wrote in an editorial, “The final package is the strongest ethics legislation to emerge from Congress yet.”

* Obama has introduced and helped pass bipartisan legislation to limit the abuse of no-bid federal contracts.

Here are some of Obama's Illinois Senate successes:

Illinois State Senate 1996 - 2004

* Welfare legislation

* Created the Earned Income Tax Credit program that gave over $100 million in tax cuts for families throughout Illinois over 3 years.

* Expanded early childhood education

* Enlisted the support of law enforcement officials to draft legislation requiring the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.

* He passed a law to monitor racial profiling by requiring police to record the race of drivers they stopped. The law was at first very controversial, but due to Obama's skills as a negotiator and bipartisanships, he won the support of the police. During his 2004 general election campaign for U.S. Senate, he won the endorsement of the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police, whose president credited Obama for his active engagement with police organizations in enacting death penalty reforms.

* Pass the toughest campaign finance law in Illinois history. The legislation banned the personal use of campaign money by Illinois legislators and banned most gifts from lobbyists. Worked with U.S. Sen. Paul Simon (D-IL), 1988. Before the law was passed, one organization ranked Illinois worst among 50 states for its campaign finance regulations.

* Created a working, affordable health care plan in Illinois, that covers 70,000 kids and 84,000 adults, where all kids qualify for $40 per child. Obama sponsored and passed this legislation, working with Rod R. Blagojevich(IL Gov.) See All Kids http://www.allkids.com/ . It is a model for a workable, affordable national health care.

Our pitcher has a great fast ball.
When has she thrown it?
Well, never but a lot of good fast ball pitchers like her.

Flawed logic and another blunder by the HRC camp. Just because you say it doesn't make it so. This is right out of the GWB playbook. Repeat it enough and it becomes fact.

This incident sums up her campaign. Bloated claims with little or nothing to support the claim.

Clinton spin: The media is out to get us.

A SPEECH?? But those are meaningless. Just words!
LOL. The Empress has no clothes.

Umm, what a non-answer answer. I just read something from someone in Texas that is really appropriate here: "that gun kicks as bad as it shoots."

Her campaign is grasping at straws and they've spent so much time trying to tarnish Obama that they're running out of silliness; they're killing themselves because she looks trite, petty and panicked, I can hear her and her supporters now: "I'm a woman, the country owes this to me, I was married to a president, Obama jumped line, it's my turn, I should be first, then he can have his turn; it's so not fair."

This is a weak, uninformed, unintelligent response to the moderator's question. They have not clearly articulated one simple foreign policy experience HRC has got. I would presume that if she gets elected we would be faced with these overpaid consultants and managers who forgot to plan post super Tuesday. It will be a 'sorry situation' that the US would find herself in should the Clintons come back into power.

REAL News - Dick Cheney's NEXT Big Energy MONOPOLY Power RIPOFF:

Obama is the pre-packaged "New & Improved Chocolate Flavor" Presidential candidate PRODUCT - being hyped & PUSHED by GE and its WHOLLY-Owned subsidiaries NBC & MSNBC...along with Westinghouse & its subsidiary CBS...while slamming the Clintons all day every day. (Assisted by...CNN/FOX/ and a lot of newspaper & radio media dependent on advertising$$.)

GE is the 2nd largest corporation on the planet.

Obama is IN with the Nuclear Industry: Excelon Corp of Illinois has been one of his largest contributors from his entry into politics to the present. Excelon is the largest nuke operator on the planet;owns Con-Ed of NY; more nukes in Illinois than any other state.

GE, Westinghouse, Excelon & 3 consortiums of other companies are planning to build 29 new nuclear power plants. Their Wholly-Owned & Wholly Influenced "News" media are selling the Obama Product because Obama is in favor of Nukes.

In 2005 Obama Voted FOR the Cheney Energy Bill (H.R.6) which ENABLED the nuke industry to make its Plans to build 29 new nukes-by Guaranteeing Taxpayer Payback of any nuke loans that default. (No nukes were built for the past 30 years because the banks wouldn't loan the money - too risky)

Obama Voted FOR the Cheney Energy Bill-despite the fact the Congressional Budget Office rated the risk of default on the nuke loans at 50% or greater. (Does that sound like...GOOD...JUDGMENT to You?)

[NY Times has several articles about the nuke plans & a map showing all 29 locations; Wikipedia covers the subject]

Clinton Voed AGAINST the Cheney Energy Bill and said her Energy Plan does not include nuclear.

? "Its about the FUTURE...Turn The PAGE" ?

Nope. ts about Turning the PAGE BACK to the PAST: Obsloete 50 yr old nuke power plants-the dirtiest most expensive kind/centrally-controlled MONOPOLY POWER-instead of inventing New, Clean, Green De-Centralized inexpensive Energy.

An ad campaign has already begun on the TV media to re-package & re-name nuclear power plants as: GREEN & CLEAN -for-everybody too young to remember the 1970's anti-nuke movement and all the Bad News about nuclear energy.

Don't be taken in by the ad campaigns-Google:'nuclear waste dumps' & read about the hundreds of BILLIONS of gallons of nuke waste at the Hanford Washington dump; 140 tons of plutonium stored at Rocky Flats, Colorado; Barnwell, South Carolina; leaking into groundwater and rivers; plutonium released into the air around Denver from 500 instances of fires at Rocky Flats; stored on-site at every nuke reactor in America...presenting hundreds of potential "dirty bomb" targets for terrorists.

Is it true that Obama takes No Contributions/NO MONEY from Registered Federal Lobbyists?

Yes. It's a LawyerSpeak/Trick of: Speaking a Small truth covering up a Big Lie.

Nope, doesn't take money from REGISTERED FEDERAL Lobbyists.

DOES take money from STATE Lobbyists, Not Registered Lobbyists, AND the wives, husbands, law partners, aunts, uncles cousins...of Registered Federal Lobbyists. Gets money from the same big corporate donors as any other candidate.

Obama's campaign finances are involved in the prosecution (by Patrick Fitzgerald)and trial of his friend of 20 years Antoin Rezko. Some of the funds... allegedly...extorted by Rezko went into Obama's campaign coffers. Curiously, Iraqi Power Plants amd fraud are also involved in Rezko's trial. (Google: Obama -Rezko- Alsammarae-Auichi- IRAQ POWER PLANTS)

GE & the same wealthy people who sold the "new & improved vanilla flavor" Presidential PRODUCTS: Reagan & Bush/s 1 & 2 - are behind the massive ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN to sell you OBAMA.

At the beginning of this campaign season a large majority of voters were looking forward to electing Clinton. Then Obama stepped in and started the dirty campaigning that has created the DIVISION he so hypocritically decries. Obama played "the race card" so he could win in South Carolina. He was caught red-handed playing that race card-but the media blamed it on Clinton-even though they all knew they were pushing the Big Lie.

With nearly ALL "the mainstream media" pimping for Obama & slamming, smearing, and lying about the Clintons-it is truly amazing enough voters have seen thru the Media-Created Obama "movement"-for Clinton to STILL be in the race.

The only way a very small minority can CONTROL a very large Majority is: DIVIDE & CONQUER-Exactly the same Republican Strategy/Deception they have successfully pulled for most of the last century And ALL of this century, so far. . .

GE, the nuke industry/wealthy have hedged their bets & they will get Billions of your money via 29 new nukes IF either Obama or McCain is elected President.

Ladies & Gentlemen, Dads & Moms buy nothing GE & Westinghouse are selling - not Obama, not a washing machine, a dishwasher, 29 nuke power plants, or a garbage disposer .... because there is no garbage disposer for Radioactive Nuke Waste. Do not allow them to poison the earth and your children anymore.

elme, you are building a huge strawman there. Obama's endorsement of nuclear power is one of the most forward-looking things he could do. Would you rather see all nukes go off-line and instead have billions of tons of greenhouse gases and heavy metals pollute our atmosphere? Nuclear power, though it produces small quantities of concentrated waste, produces virtually no atmospheric pollution. And, given the more limited supply of fossil fuels, it's the only way we can keep our current energy production levels until the perfection of nuclear fusion reactors.

Furthermore, smart management of nuclear fuel can result in the burning up of the tons of plutonium you speak of (weapons-grade plutonium can be diluted and used in civilian reactors,) and reprocessing, a proven technology, can give new life to the fuel that's sitting in swimming pools at reactors around the country.

I am an environmentalist and hate nuclear contamination as much as the next guy, but our nuclear plant design has been proven - around 50 years and countless gigawatt-hours of energy produced with only one major incident (TMI) and a handful of smaller ones. This, combined with the unbelievable security around plants, is a reasonable assurance of safety. I would not be any more scared living near a nuke plant than I am living a mile from a major freeway.

Sure, a high-profile politician like Obama may get palm-greasing from various corporate interests, but I challenge you to name one who doesn't. As long as it is legal, it will occur.

Thermonuclear bomb fallout, Hanford, nuclear arms races, TMI and Chernobyl are (hopefully) relegated to history books forever. We need to look forward to Peak Oil and how we are going to deal with that impending catastrophe to modern society. Coal exists in large quantities, but its use produces huge amounts of environmental toxins and requires large-scale raping of the land to mine. Nuclear fission is the only form of energy that will bridge the gap between oil and fusion and will give us the amount of energy we need to keep society as we know it going into the 22nd century.

Howard B. believes Hillary is just an empty pantsuit, when all the visual evidence shows he is absolutely wrong. She fills up every inch of her pantsuit and then some. Two million unpaid for donuts is all the evidence you need.

San, thank you, you've made my day. Actually, my friends and I call her the oversized pear in a pantsuit. Also, do you know why Bill Clinton's nose is so red? Is it from all those years of snorting cocaine? Remember the Mena cocaine Trafficking and monedy laundering he and the Rose Firm were involved in? That's why Hillary had all those documents shredded at the Rose Firm when they were being investigated?? I believe Vince Foster knew all about what was going on and I believe he was ready to tell the truth. Unfortunately, he met his demise before he could speak up. Remember Maggie Williams taking all of Vince Foster's files from his office before the police could get to them? Pretty scary, and they got away with it!!

The Clintons lives have been filled with lies and more lies, scandles and more scandles, and coverup after coverup. Remember these things are what really kept Bill and Hillary busy during their residence in the white house. And some people want them back?? May God forbid! I have read "The Case Against Hillary Clinton" by Peggy Noonan, Copyright 2000. In one area it says the Clintons lie so freely that they believe their own lies as reality. Pretty darn frightening and something we definitely DO NOT need in our leader!

I recommend others read this book, also recommend googling "THE CLINTON CHRONICLES" free audio.

This is so funny...the whole basis of her campaign is experience. Her and her campaign say it so much that they start to believe the lie. It is a shame.

"... international things" OMG is she sure that these guys are not on Obama's payroll?

Not everyone running for President is going to have this specific kind of situations in their resume. This is why character is such a significant but lately overlooked trait to have in a candidate. If you can get a sense of someone’s character by how they handle themselves you can get a sense of what they will do when faced with difficult situations. Are they going to deal with it or try to find someone to blame to protect themselves? With Hillary's campaign and the controversies that surround it, she always has a cushion of plausible deniability. This is not the kind of character I am looking for in a leader.

YOU MIGHT BE AN IDIOT:-)

If you think Barack Obama with little or no experience would be better than Hillary Clinton with 35 years experience.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience can fix an economy on the verge of collapse better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) led the greatest economic expansion, and prosperity in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience fighting for universal health care can get it for you better than Hillary Clinton. Who anticipated this current health care crisis back in 1993, and fought a pitched battle against overwhelming odds to get universal health care for all the American people.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience can manage, and get us out of two wars better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) went to war only when he was convinced that he absolutely had to. Then completed the mission in record time against a nuclear power. AND DID NOT LOSE THE LIFE OF A SINGLE AMERICAN SOLDIER. NOT ONE!

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience saving the environment is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) left office with the greatest amount of environmental cleanup, and protections in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with little or no education experience is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) made higher education affordable for every American. And created higher job demand and starting salary's than they had ever been before or since.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience will be better than Hillary Clinton who spent 8 years at the right hand of President Bill Clinton. Who is already on record as one of the greatest Presidents in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that you can change the way Washington works with pretty speeches from Obama, rather than with the experience, and political expertise of two master politicians ON YOUR SIDE like Hillary and Bill Clinton..

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think all those Republicans voting for Obama in the Democratic primaries, and caucuses are doing so because they think he is a stronger Democratic candidate than Hillary Clinton. :-)

Best regards

jacksmith...

If you think Hillary = Bill...
You ARE an Idiot

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you support Hillary Clinton for President of the United States...

I'm almost as sick of Senator Clinton as I am of President Bush.

Let's get this thing over with and focus on Senator McCain.

Republican voters in Ohio and Texas PLEASE PLEASE vote for HILLARY so she wins again and will keep this self destruction fight with Obama till the bitter end.

Republican voters in Ohio and Texas PLEASE PLEASE vote for HILLARY so she wins again and will keep this self destruction fight with Obama till the bitter end.

They had such an easy answer and they didn't remember!!! What they should have said, "Hillary has shown the nation and the world what kind of 'reaction' she would take during a crisis that is "foreign" to her when the RED phone rang and Monica was on the other end of the line." (Her reaction _ "Bill you now OWE me this White House!" Yessir, the lady has been tested and vetted by the best ;-)

Ethan,
Even President Clinton and other democrats said that Saddam had WMDs and was dangerous. It wasn't until Bush planned on doing more than lobbing in the occasional bomb that I ever heard anyone say the WMDs didn't exist. There is evidence that said WMDs were simply moved to other countries.

Personally I don't intend to vote for either of the likely nominees. The war is not as important to me as things like tax cuts, respect for the Constitution, reducing federal government, respect for 2nd amendment. I'll write in someone.

McCain is now talking the talk of a conservative but other than the war his administration would work to further the liberal agenda. And a republican president can push the left's agenda easier than a democrat president.

It seems that Hillary's people have been taking extemporaneous speaking tips from Miss Teen South Carolina.

John said, "The Empress has no clothes."

Shame on you for putting such an image in my head.

Speaking late afternoon at a rally in Akron, Ohio. Hillary spins a story about a young girl in Ohio that was working in a pizza parlor or some such place. Sure enough, she ends up pregnant. She’s having some trouble with the pregnancy and goes to the doctor. She is told that she’ll have to pay at least $100 for the doctor’s appointment. She doesn’t have the money, so she goes home. Eventually both the girl and her baby die … though we’re not told from what. Hillary then tells the audience that “It is morally wrong that a young woman should be denied medical care.”

OK … let’s talk about “morally wrong.” First … we have no names (at least not yet) and no details about Hillary’s touching story. We don’t know whether or not this woman tried to avail herself of a local government medical clinic. We don’t know if she presented herself to some charitable organizations for help. What DO we know? We know that she was not married. She lacked marketable job skills as evidenced by her pizza job, and that she engaged in careless and unsafe sex. Isn’t there something “morally wrong” with a young woman getting pregnant with a baby she has absolutely no ability to care for without relying on the government to seize another’s property for her benefit?

While the left is pontificating about morals, you will never hear them address the possibility that there is something wrong with irresponsible decisions that lead to the confiscation of another person’s property. We’ve created this mindset in this country that it is perfectly OK to take any action or make any decision you like, no matter how irresponsible, and then sit while the government makes everything just fine … using someone else’s life and property. Ignore your education; obligate yourself for those expensive car payments instead of buying a health insurance policy; and get knocked up by just about anyone … and the government is there to take care of you.

Can you imagine what our society might be like of people grew up understanding that they were going to be held responsible for the stupid and irresponsible decisions in their lives? Wouldn’t it be amazing if people actually thought before they acted … and they did so because the nanny government wasn’t waiting there to protect them from their own idiocy? With our government schools, that will never be our reality.

How many of you really want to live in an assisted care living center. Well .. that’s what we’re building here: entitlement program by entitlement program – Democrat by Democrat – our country is turning into a glorified nursing home.

Oh .. and don’t you just love Hillary preaching to us about morals? Come on, folks … is this really the woman we want to turn to for lectures on what is morally wrong and what isn’t?

THE 3:00 A.M. CAMPAIGN AD.

Did you hear about the dueling 3:00 a.m. campaign ads over the weekend? First of all .. these ads are decades old. Walter Mondale used the same ad against Gary Hart. Carter used it against Reagan. Bush v. Kerry … there it was. The message: When that red phone rings in the White House at three in the morning you want to make sure the right person is there to answer it. Hillary’s message was that when the crisis erupts, she is the one with all the experience.

OK .. a question? Can someone please tell me what national crisis Hillary has ever handled? There was a conference call this weekend between the media and some of Hillary’s campaign staffers. That very question was asked: “What crisis has Hillary ever handled?” The campaign staff stumbled around for a bit, and then responded with “She’s on the Armed Services Committee.” Wow! I feel much better already. I guess that means that every single Senator serving on the Armed Services Committee is qualified to be president by virtue of the fact that they have all that experience handling crises.

The ugly truth here? The only crisis Hillary ever faced at 3:00 a.m. during her years in the White House was trying to figure out where in the hell her “husband” was.

I hope someone will exlpain to Sen. Clinton that the presidency is NOT her birthright. The fact that she happened to be married to the former President does NOT qualify her to shoulder the responsibility for my freedoms. I'm married to an Attorney but that does not qualify me to represent individuals in court!

Basically her main 'test' was getting Bill through impeachment. No one wanted to admit this.

It's funny hearing these guys try to spin, to make nothing looking like something.

HAHAAHAHAHAHA

Ethan is seriously trying to compare giving a prepared speech to a captive audience to a spur-of-the-moment decision that must be made at 3a.m.?

This is the intelligence of your typical Hillary supporter.

Keep it up! You hurt her campaign a little more every time you post.

I heard a very interesting comment over the air today. It pointed out that Mrs. Clinton's campaign made such a big deal plagiarism because Mr. Obama "lifted" a commentary from his friend and campaign chair. It went on to say that her entire TV ad about the red phone was taken right from Carl Rove just about word for word.

All along it's been said that Mr. Obama is inexperienced, he hasn't been around long enough, etc., etc., Then they turn around and ask people to name his accomplishments. That is biased and unfair intended to put Mr. Obama in poor light. I've read his website from cover to cover so I am somewhat familiar with his accomplishments; but if I wasn't, I would answer that he has put together a great campaign far more effective than his opponents, financially and organizationally, and this shows that he is a leader, uses sound judgment, and he knows his business; I would trust a person of that caliber to manage our Country.

Most people that listen actively and think things through know that Mr. Obama is the best pick for the presidency; others that are lead by those that want to smear his name because they can't find anything else that they can put him down about thankfully are in the 1/8 of the equation.

Obama for President; vote for him in Texas(vote early and often, you guys can, Ohio, Rhode Island and Vermont on Tuesday!! You will be glad you did! Oh dear, should I have used quotation marks?

Wow, these people speaking for her are getting paid like millions of dollars, professional spinners, spun too much and too often...

Stop Plan Mexico! Bush's Merida Initiative...

Well, when McCain touts how he was a prisoner for 5 years Hillary can top him by pointing out how she was a prisoner for 8 years.

...a prisoner of her own ego that led her to suffer being disrespected by her husband time and time again.

Anything to preserve your future political career, eh Hill?

...and women "support" this misogynist enabler?!?

Want to intice a even longer paniced pause? ask a hillary staffer about Peter Paul. currently swept under the rug but i get the felling it will become more of an issue and probably in the general election.

Let's be honest those that have an issue with the title invest in a dictionary before you run-off talking about what you have no idea of. Secondly the statement she made is valid, HOWEVER, the answers that are being provided are not. The reason while she feels the best qualified to answer the phone at 3am is because she has the added benefit of being married to a former president that she can go to at any time for guidance. We all know it in the back of our minds that the Clinton camp will not dare tell the truth.

the real crisis American have seen her facing is when she lost in new Hampshire and she responded to it by crying on TV and turn her campaign into the kitchen sink strategy. I don’t thing she can answer that phone at 3am in the morning because she cannot even face any reality. She is really silly.

Those hinging on Hillary in China speaking on women's rights was just that a speech. It's not a crisis. It is an important topic but it was still a speech. Touting commander in chief threshold this just doesn't cut it.

I hate to say it, but Hillary is going to steal this right out from under Obama, even if it destroys the party. Howard Dean needs to grow a pair and tell Hill and Bill and McAuliffe that their choke hold on the party is over. The is no low she will not stoop to.

If she steals this and the DNC allows it I am done FOREVER with the party.

I had forgot that Hillary years as an elected official is shorter than Obama. Being a first lady doesn't count as being elected into a postion by the American people. I think she has forgotten too.

I would like to quote factcheck.org here

Clinton claims to have "negotiated open borders" in Macedonia to fleeing Kosovar refugees. But the Macedonian border opened a full day before she arrived, and her meetings with Macedonian officials were too brief to allow for much serious negotiating.
Clinton's activities "helped bring peace to Northern Ireland." Irish officials are divided as to how helpful Clinton's actions were, and key players agree that she was not directly involved in any actual negotiations.
Clinton has repeatedly referenced her "dangerous" trip to Bosnia. She fails to mention, however, that the Bosnian war had officially ended three months before her visit – or that she made the trip with her 16-year-old daughter and two entertainers.
Both Bill and Hillary Clinton claim that Hillary privately championed the use of U.S. troops to stop the genocide in Rwanda. That conversation left no public record, however, as U.S. policy was explicitly to stay out of Rwanda, and officials say that the use of U.S. troops was never considered.
Clinton's tough speech on human rights delivered to a Beijing audience is as advertised, though Clinton herself has been dismissive of speeches that aren't backed by solutions.

LOL!!!!! All that rambling and no answer. The Hillary boyz are TOAST!
