Reagan Would Be So Disappointed

Ronald Reagan's political offspring are laying into each other on this Super Tuesday, violating his 11th commandment not to speak ill of another Republican.

Let us update you on this spat ...

Former Senate majority leader and 1996 GOP nom 'Bob Dole, Bob Dole' wrote a letter yesterday asking Rush Limbaugh to temper his criticism of John McCain's conservative credentials. In response, Mitt Romney said of Dole this morning on FOX: "He's probably the last person I would have wanted to have write a letter for me." Ouch!

Watch:

So the latest is that Sam Brownback, a McCain supporter, is reprimanding Romney for smacking Dole, whom he calls "an American hero." Brownback says that Romney's campaign is "fading" and suggests he apologize to Dole.

"I was disappointed to see Governor Romney's desperate attack on Senator Bob Dole, a great Kansan and an American hero," Brownback says in a statement issued by McCain's campaign. "Governor Romney's campaign is fading and this outburst is the latest in a long series of contradictory statements that remind us of his confused political views. I call on Governor Romney to apologize for his disrespectful comments."

Fellas, this behavior is positively, well, Democratic ... WWRD? What Would Reagan Do?
