"Very Close"
On the eve of Super Tuesday, a new Mitt Romney Web ad asks: "Is John McCain really the heart and soul of the Republican Party?"
The spot asserts that McCain and Hillary Clinton agree on amnesty for illegal immigrants, are unified in their opposition to the Bush tax cuts and would impose a 50-cent tax on gasoline. They also would block conservative judges, according to the ad. It quotes Bill Clinton saying HRC and McCain "are very close."
Narrator: "Don't we need a leader who agrees with conservatives?"
Here, by the way, is McCain on the trail this weekend, affirming his support for strict constructionist judges, per the Chicago Tribune.

GOVERNOR MITT ROMNEY: "I'm Mitt Romney and I approved this message."

I worked HARD to stop John McCain and his amnesty bill. I SURE don't want him as president. I am hoping today Mitt Romney can win ehough delegates, but if he doesn't I think I will vote against McCain in the final vote. I just don't trust or like the little SOB.
