Kucinich Looks Safe
If Dennis Kucinich's (D-OH 10) early lead holds, he'll beat back Cleveland City Councilor Joe Cimperman (D) and three other Dems to easily win re-election to his House seat. With 26% of the vote counted, Kucinich leads Cimperman 53-32%.
Of all of the vulnerable incumbents in primaries tonight, Kucinich appeared the most in danger. Cimperman was well-funded and ran a very good campaign. Kucinich was frightened sufficiently enough to dump his WH campaign, and returned home to campaign full-time for his re-election bid.
But Kucinich rebounded sufficiently by raising $689K in the last few weeks of the campaign. He used those funds to run several "person-on-the-street" TV ads that touted his hometown appeal.
Kucinich will face state Rep. Jim Trakas (R) in the general, but Kucinich is heavily favored for re-election.

Well you people who voted for this (?) deserve him. We can only hope he gets picked up by a U.F.O. to offer his extreme intelligence to other alien races.
I am a republican but I think Kucinich is an honorable man. He is honest and he can not be bought and sold. Even if you do not agree with him at least you know he isn't going to pretend he is something else just to get your vote.
I would rather have him that a corrupt republican.
A UFO is an unidentified flying object. Not an alien. I find it funny the worst anyone can think of him is the UFO thing.
First, "erin," you're not a Republican. I just love it when Liberals write anonymous messages online claiming to be Republicans and saying how wonderful Democrats are. Is that supposed to make Democrats feel good about themselves or something?
And second, I can't understand how that district can elect someone like Kucinich. They might as well just all stand up and say "we're Socialists!" and "we don't want a free market economy & choice!" and "a Congressman who admits to seeing a UFO is perfectly sane and rational!"
The West Side of Cleveland keeps reelecting Dennis. It's inexplicable. This town has contiued to slide downhill while local government has been chock full of bozos. Dennis is worse that most of our incompetent pols though -- he is both AWOL and extreme. The AWOL part is what is most damning, as he flies in every so often only to hold a meaningless press conference in front of some plant closing.
Meanwhile, yellow Dennis! signs (with a peace sign at the bottom of the exclaimation point) litter the West Side. Why? What has he done for US? What has he done for anyone? Even if you agree with his views, why reward someone who has never managed to pass even one bill in Congress in 6 freaking terms. People refer to him by his first name, like he's their wayward little brother who's outlandish behavior is excused around the holiday dinner table. Meanwhile Dennis has carved his kooky niche out of the declining neighborhoods of Cleveland's West Side.
Dennis Kucinich is a man of integrity and vision. His clear grasp of the issues and the truth that lays behind the hijacking of America to line the pockets of those who already have more money than they know what to do with. The same people who have sent the sons and daughters of America to a needless and early grave. The same people who are enemies of humanity and indeed of life itself.
He would have, and possibly will in the future, make the greatest President America ever had.
