Obama On Veep Offer: "I'm In First Place Now"
Barack Obama, on the stump today in MS, had a few things to say about Bill and Hillary Clinton's assertions that he would make a fine veep on an HRC ticket:
"With all do respect, I've won twice as many states as Sen. Clinton. I've won more of the popular vote than Sen. Clinton. I have more delegates than Sen. Clinton. So I don't know how somebody who's in second place is offering the vice presidency to the person who is in first place. I mean, I'm just wondering, cause if I was in second place, I could understand it. But I'm in first place right now."
More: "There's a second point. This is an interesting point. I want you guys to follow me on this. President Bill Clinton back in 1992 when he was asked about his selection for vice president, he said the only criteria, the most important critieria for vice president ... (was if) he or she would be ready to be the commander in chief. That was his criteria." Obama said that HRC's campaign has spent the last two or three weeks challenging his credentials to be commander in chief. "If I'm not ready, how is it that you think I should be such a great vice president. Do you understand that?"
"You can't say he's not ready on day one unless he's willing to be your vice president, then he's ready on day one."
And this: "I just want everybody to be absolutely clear. We are in a tough battle. And I don't presume that I have won this election. Sen. Clinton is fighting hard. She is tenacious. And I respect her for that. ... But I want everybody to be clear. I'm not running for vice president. I'm running for president of the United States of America. I'm running for president of the United States of America. I'm running to be commander in chief. And the reason I'm running to be commander in chief is because I believe the most important thing when you answer that call at 3 in the morrning is what kind of judgment you have, not how long you've been in Washington. ... And I believe that I have shown better judgment than Sen. Clinton. I believe that I offer a clean break from the policies of George Bush."
Hillary Clinton, Obama added, "went along with" Bush's Iraq war policy and joined in his saber rattling against Iran.
Obama said voters should not be fooled by the Clintons' promises of a new kind of two-fer. "You have to make a choice in this election," he said.

So, the Titantic, on it's rapid descent into the murky bottom offers to the Queen Mary to tie on to the descent but only as second-in-command....what a deal.
All the superdelegates should be jumping ship right about now
All the superdelegates should be jumping ship right about now
Superdelegates, You need to come out in support of Obama and put this 'stupidity' out of its misery!
Obama is so full of himself. I belong to a group who will write in Hillary's name in the November ballot if she is not the Democratic nominee. We formed this group soon after the following: "I have never been proud of this country until now that my husband is running for president"...On day one I will enter the Oval Office get behind the desk and say "cool"...what about day two, three and the rest of the 4 years?..."No, I would not consider the VP position with Senator Clinton"...arrogant or not!
I am not giving up on Senator Clinton anymore than she is giving up on herself.
I have heard Obama supporters say..."I would love to have a woman President but not Bill Clinton's wife"...Take a good look, Hillary is not Bill she is herself and ...oh well...we will fight and continue fighting.
If I could just hear Obama give me a good reason why I should vote for him if he is the Candidate...he hasn't thus far.
For those of you who don't remember when the Senate Voted on the Resolution to invade Iraq...if you carefully look for facts you will note that Senator Obama was not in the Senate and in fact he most likely used this to begin his career to run for President. His intentions are now clear. He is still in his first term representing Illinois and now he wants to be President? I don't know any more than the rest of you what Obama would have done given the same imformation the rest of the Senate who voted for the war received from the Bush administration. He can't convince me that he would have voted NO...perfect political rhetoric though. And guess what, most folks who support him actually think he voted NO and have not bother to check if he was in the Senate or not.
I have absolutely no problem in the fact that some of you support Obama for right reasons. I do have a problem when you don't know the facts and it is easier to trash Senator Clinton. We live in a great country, no matter what Mrs. Obama says, we should all be proud to be US Citizens and to be able to vote for the candidate we feel speaks to us. If he or she truly does speak to us and it is not just because the media or the husband or the uncle or the nephew says we should because...Be strong and make up your own mind but also take time to do some research and get your facts straight. Project VoteSmar.org is a great place to look and ask for facts if you are interested. Don't just let the blind lead the blind, this is an election that is so important to our country and we need to take responsibility for electing the right person into office. Remember what happened in the last two elections, remember how the media pursuaded some to vote for GWB and look where we are. I don't know how many of you were old enough to remember how good the years were when Pres. Clinton was in office. How we for the first time in a very long time had a balanced budget and our country was doing pretty good. Forget the Monica Lewinsky because I don't think there is a squeaky clean politician and Obama included.
