Obama To Deliver "Major" Address On Race Tmrw
Barack Obama will deliver a "major address on race, politics, and how we bring our country together at this important moment in our history" tomorrow in Philly, according to his campaign.
Does he address his pastor problem? What's the message to white voters, rust belt males, in particular, about his candidacy?

The American people are not buying it.
Obama has enabled Mr. Wright and his hateful rhetoric for the last 20 years. This whole sorry spectacle has set race relations back and Mr. Obama has nobody but himself to blame.
And he allowed his young daughters to listen to this hate and intolerance??

Excuse me, but last time I checked, those words didn't come out of Barack Obama's mouth.
Holding Obama accountable for the words of his pastor, when a CONGREGATION is MUCH MORE THAN A PASTOR is childish and shortsighted.
Last time I checked, you could listen to people with opinions that differed from yours without endorsing - and being criticized for - those opinions.
There are a LOT of people with opinions like Rev. Wright's, and they too need to be heard. Only then will they de-radicalize.
OH, BTW, where was all this scrutiny on what Mitt Romney's pastor said? What about Huckabee?
What about the right-wing christian conservatives that Hillary congregates with in washington?
This is just another media-driven race baiting fiasco. They may try to scare away white suburbanites from Obama, but it won't work.
He's got the nod locked up, and there is no way Americans will turn to John McCain to get them out of this recession.
I'm looking forward to this speech. The media has cherrypicked the worst comments from Rev. Wright's 4000 sermons, making him out to be a loon. But Oprah Winfrey goes to this church, lots of white people go to this church, so there's no way he's as bad as they are making it out to be.
Anyway, Obama has already denounced Wright's worst comments. Anyone who watches Obama knows that he doesn't agree with the old school "white man's got me down schtick". Just like I don't think McCain believes the Catholic church is evil, even though his pal Rev. Hagee preaches that all the time.
Sage.......Oprah left that church, due to the content, still gives money but had enough sense to distance herself from the Rev.
White or black...hate is hate. un-american is un-american.
