WJC Makes Pitch For Cash
Bill Clinton made a rare pitch for campaign donations during a rally this morning in Pennsylvania, telling supporters that Hillary Clinton risks being “blown out” by Barack Obama on the airwaves, reports NBC/NJ's Mike Memoli.
“She can win being outspent -- the first two weeks of this television campaign she was outspent five-to-one on television," he told a crowd of about 200 at a union hall in Coatesville. "But she can’t be blown out.”
Clinton asked supporters not only to vote for his wife but to convince their undecided friends to “send $10 or $5 or $15 dollars on the Internet.”
Wait a minute. Hillary Clinton raised $20M last month. Hardly chump change. She also loaned her campaign $5M to stay afloat. And now we know that she could easily write another check (see $109M Clinton family income since 2001).
So, what's with WJC's poverty plea? Seems part of the campaign's latest expectations spin -- that Obama should win, must win, because he's outspending HRC in PA more than 2:1. And, Clinton's spokesmen say, if Obama doesn't win in the Keystone State, a contest that has favored Clinton demographically from the start, he reveals an indisputable weakness in big state contests.
But if HRC had Obama's cash, wouldn't she spend it there, too? Hard to turn the notion of flush campaign coffers into a liability.

Just what the Clintons need....MORE money.
What do they do, bathe in the stuff? Those
posh hotels with king-sized beds that Bill
sleeps in "alone" while furiously campaigning
for his(dwindling) legacy must be a real
drag on campaign funds. He could give a talk
to some radical sheiks next week that could
net, say, 2-3 MIL. What gives? That could
keep Hill's long march going til Friday, at least.
When you have two people running for one position your funding tends to shrink a lil bit faster. Maybe Hillary needs to run for the office she is seeking and leave Bill at home to answer phones. Bill is in more states, more cities on any given day than Hillary. This is why I feel it is bitter sweet that Obama is winning this election. 2-1 not good odds in this case.
The last place on earth Bill should be begging people for their money is the citizens of Coatesville. There are no jobs there and the city itself is in financial ruins. The visit was just a repeat performance. He visited the town when he was running for president the first time. Plus, Obama was asked by Coatesville to make an appearance at a fesitival a few weeks back. He didn't show and then Clintons' know this. SSDD
TN Dave...right on. It is about two and a half to one with Chelsea in the mix. After 35 yrs of living off the Gov't dole from Arkanasa to DC = the clintons are accustomed to spending OTHER PEOPLES MONEY...REMEMBER WE PAY $10,000 a month rent for the secret service detail to live in their guest space in New York and $400,000 to rent him office space in Harlem.
