USA Today/Gallup: More Than Half Of Dems Want HRC To Be Veep
The USA Today/Gallup poll out today shows that 55% of Democrats want Barack Obama to select Hillary Clinton as his veep. The same percentage of primary voters want to see Clinton continue to campaign, rather than pull out.
There is, by the way, a significant and not surprising difference between HRC and Obama supporters when asked if they'd like Obama to run with Clinton: 73% of Clinton supporters say yes, compared with 43% of Obamacrats.

More than 50% of Democratic elected officials want to BE Veep.
While polls are entertaining remnants of public opinion, they are crude gauges for predicting future events. Keeping in mind that poll participants constitute a very limited and non-representative portion of all possible voters, any polls purporting to reflect the sentiments of 'Democrats' are bound to be wrong and misleading. Barack Obama has not yet been declared the Democratic Presidential Candidate, and his preferences are, as yet, unknown. At such time as his preference does become known, Democrats, and Democratic-leaning Independents, Republicans for Obama, and young voters (who are rarely polled at all, and are very significant for this election) will have their say. I don't know a single Democrat, Independent, or anyone else who thinks HRC would be a suitable running mate for Barack Obama. You cannot change the state of politics if you bow down at the altar of old power. By her actions in the primary elections HRC has made very clear exactly why she is not suitable to be either President or Vice President.

Keeping in mind that poll participants (especially the relatively small group of elected Democratic elected officials, who have their own allegiances and motivations) constitute a very limited and non-representative portion of all possible voters, any polls purporting to reflect the sentiments of Democrats leadership of all ranks, are bound to be wrong and misleading.
Barack Obama has not yet officially been declared the Democratic Presidential Candidate, and his preference is, as yet, unknown. At such time as his preference becomes known, the much more inclusive audience of Democrats, and Democratic-leaning Independents, Republicans for Obama, and young voters (who are rarely polled at all, and are very significant for this election) will have their say, and it is very likely they will strongly differ with the often self-serving group of elected officials. I don't know a single Democrat, Independent, or anyone else who thinks HRC would be a suitable running mate for Barack Obama. You cannot change the state of politics if you yoke yourself to the guidon bearer of old power. By her actions in the primary elections HRC has made very clear exactly why she is not suitable to be either President or Vice President.
