Nevermind the fact that John McCain never called for 100 years of war in Iraq, or that, in 2025, McCain would be an 89-year old ex-president, if still alive.
But, Alex would be 18, a grown adult empowered with the personal choice of enlisting in the military, and there's nothing his Cindy Sheehan-like mother could do to stop him if he wants to serve and defend our country.
Pretty embarrassing stuff, MoveOn...Keep it coming.
Argo:
What does defending our country have to do with being involved in a civil war in Iraq?
They never attacked us, some people in Afghanistan did.
Which, by the way, we could use some more troops in that country, they never should have been moved to attack a country that was never involved in 9/11. Recent news suggests that we are losing the war in that country, BTW.
This past month more coalition forces died in Afghanistan than in Iraq.
It's a double-negative for Bush/McCain.
Not only is Iraq farther from resolution than ever (they want to kick us out over the latest "negotiations")...
But the Forgotten War is getting worse and worse and worse.
As if we need FURTHER EVIDENCE that George W. Bush and John McCain's inept "Fight Them In Iraq" strategy is the worst foreign policy blunder in HISTORY.
Btw, Argo, way to demonize a mother of an American casualty in Bush/McCain's war for HAVING AN OPINION.
Isn't that WHY we are fighting them? So that people like her can HAVE an opinion?
Argo, if we blindly followed your leader down the current path (as you do), it would wind up in full-fledged Fascism. Thanks for nothing, but I think the world has had enough facist homicidal maniacs in power to last another couple millennia at least.
Steve,
"Civil war in Iraq"???
Seems you're stuck on stupid, rehashing early 2007 Code Pink talking points.
Recent news suggests the surge is yielding such undeniable success, even Barack Obama cannot plausibly refute, without diminishing his own credibility.
In fact, Obama, who announced plans yesterday to visit Iraq and Afghanistan prior to the election, has begun his move toward the middle on Iraq…
“I emphasized to (Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari) how encouraged I was by the reductions in violence in Iraq, but also insisted that it is important for us to begin the process of withdrawing U.S. troops...I gave him an assurance that should we be elected, an Obama administration will make sure that we continue with the progress that’s been made in Iraq, that we won’t act precipitously, but that we will move to end U.S. combat forces in Iraq in a manner that’s as careful as we were careless getting in.”
In response to a question about how much flexibility there would be to withdrawal plans, Obama said he still believed U.S. forces could be out of the country within about 16 months but that “I’ve also consistently said that I will consult with military commanders on the ground and that we will always be open to the possibility of tactical adjustments.”

Bwwaaa hahaha.
Coming from someone who rips on Cindy Sheehan.
Neocon playbook ca. 2005.
Pot. Kettle. Black.
You neocons are making this campaign so damn fun/funny. Thanks for playing.
Comrade Ethan,
We've got an ad coming out soon with a six month old talking about high gas prices and how Obama won't let us drill for our own gas. Our six month old, who can't talk yet makes more sense than that bore doing your ad, Best of luck to all the neo-socialists.
Thanks Fascist Flyover.
I can't wait to see the GOP debase themselves with yet another infantile smear campaign.
It is winning the election for Obama. You realize that right?
Btw, I'm not a neo-socialist. I'm a Liberal Democratic Democrat-ist. And proud of it.
Guys, guys, name-calling obscures important stuff here.
Moveon's ad is oddly flawed. Leave aside the message for a moment, and look at the technicals: the script is bad, the acting worse, and the lighting and arrangement seem designed to put off, not to draw in. Who the heck is their ad firm? For all that money, they can do better.
And let's go to the message. Obviously like the campaigns at this stage, it is not designed to attract independents or those who are undecided; it is designed to solidify their base. On that, the message is simple: DANGER, Will Robinson! It says nothing else. It is tugging at the heartstrings. Given the emotions evident in this debate so far, it is probably the right message for that purpose. It would, however, serve no other purpose, and they probably know that. Accuracy doesn't matter; it's like the daisy ad.
So, if their aim is, in fact, true (for their purposes), why are the production values so bad?
