NEA To Vote To Endorse Obama

An NEA statement released this morning:

National Education Association President Reg Weaver announced today that he will ask the 9,000 locally elected delegates to the Association's Representative Assembly to take a formal vote to recommend that NEA's 3.2 million members support Barack Obama in his bid to become President of the United States. NEA delegates will hold their annual meeting in Washington, D.C., over the 4th of July holiday.

"Ideally, NEA would have endorsed a candidate during the primaries, but our members are like voters everywhere,” said Weaver. "They are evenly split between Senator Obama and Senator Hillary Clinton. But it's clear that Senator Obama has won the Democratic nomination, and with such a clear picture of what Senator Obama will do for public education and his commitment to partner with NEA on issues that affect our members across the country, every public school employee needs to get squarely behind the Obama candidacy.”

You've got to like NEA's class. Unlike the women's group prematurely endorsing Obama over Clinton, NEA waited. Very wise to represent their people, teachers, who overwhelmingly support Clinton.

See thats just the people who endorce obama are illigitmate artists. The national endowment for the arts has been stealing money from taxpayers for years to sumbmerge crucifixes is urin and sicknesses like that. We need to pull all the people who are against these sick arts toghether and vote all these liberials out. The NEA supporting obama is like the kkk is supporting David Duke.

We need a strong conseretive to captin our ship of Democracy as it sails through the arab seas. Big John McCain will continue to sail the on Path to democracy in the middle east and guide america on the path to victory. "Arrah matie! " Seriously though, Osamabama will bring the wrath of god upon our shores by islamisists because of legalizing gay marrage and not stopping aborshion, not stopping islam. Obama will regulate our industrys and crash our economy, and expand our government. and spend millions on welfare and free healthcare for. It would bankrupt america.

Psst, Lloyd, they're talking about the NEA as in the National Education Association, not the National Endowment for the Arts. If you'd actually read the post, and not just the headline, you'd know that. Of course we'd still be privileged with your rant either way, but just make sure you're ranting against the correct people.

The NEA is doing the right thing to endorse Sen. Obama. I have been in many of the public school systems. There is a lot of work that needs to be done to improve our public schools particularly in the more disadvantage schools. Our school drop out rates are very high among minority groups and overall shool performance has decreased over the years. Communities, churches, local governments, and families need to unite together to make sure that our children get the best education needed to succeed. After all, our children are the future of America. We desparately need change. Sen. Obama has actively reach out by organizing community dialog among young people and engaging all people in having an input. I have seen the effort he has put into the education system as a community organizer and seen the effect he has had on many young students and people's lives. Sen. Obama has encouraged open dialog among students and community organizers. I support Sen. Obama 100% and I will do whatever is needed for him to be our next president.
