Refuse This

Barack Obama campaign manager David Plouffe issued this statement about John McCain’s "refusal" of Obama's joint appearances offer:

“Barack Obama offered to meet John McCain at five joint appearances between now and Election Day—the three traditional debates plus a joint town hall on the economy in July and an in-depth debate on foreign policy in August. That package of five engagements would have been the most of any Presidential campaign in the modern era—offering a broad range of formats—and representing a historic commitment to openness and transparency.

“It’s disappointing that Senator McCain and his campaign decided to decline this proposal. Apparently they would rather contrive a political issue than foster a genuine discussion about the future of our country.

“Senator Obama believes that the American people deserve an open and accessible debate as they choose between real change and four more years of failed Bush policies, and he welcomed McCain’s invitation to offer voters ‘the rare opportunity of witnessing candidates for the highest office in the land discuss civilly and extensively the great issues at stake in the election."

More lies but we have Americans who have not learned from the last eight years. They will sell there souls to see any republican in office even if it’s not in there best interest forgive me Bush’s corporate buddies have already sold everything. TALK about mental. If McSame has all this so called experience then why is he not blowing the inexperienced, BLACK guy away…. Easy answer McSame is actually insane, 5 years in captivity you put it together.

What’s really sad about all these McSame lovers is he’s the best the Republican party had to offer. Let me see McSame= war/and nukes because he’s afraid to talk to our enemies. Obama= Talking hopefully like adults and with a smart cabinet to some of our enemies (chances of war less likely) for my kids future Obama’s the choice. Tough talk = war and more death and not just to our enemies. WE should remind ourselves daily what goes around comes back around. Now McSame wants wives off limits. Google Cindy McCain and see why for yourself. McSame has fallen asleep at the wheel already.

Obama/Powell 08

McCain knows that emotions run high in an intimate setting like a town hall, and one of the strongest emotions, the one that sends villagers streaming out the door with torches lit in search of the witch, is of course fear. McCain like a pitbull plans to sink his teeth into the heels of America's hope. He plans to cripple Obama, his supporters and all US citizens by plunging them into the fear that has been the cornerstone of Republican authority for the last 8 years, the premise is that the republicans are strong and can protect the people.

America trusted them for 8 years and is now less safe, less prosperous, and more maligned internationally. What were they afraid of again? McCain if you foresee fear, you will more likely than not find it.

It would seem the greatest thing the US has to fear, is fear itself. As the party of Fear the greatest thing the people should fear are the republicans. It would be a shameful irony if the country founded on hope continued to self destruct because of fear.

As far as the McCain camp accusing the opponents of being reliant on scripted performances perhaps a more effective method would be to plant people with questions in the audience..? Oh wait the republicans already thought of that..

Should Obama attend "town Hall/Library" meetings, yes but sparingly because American's have proved that they aren't capable of kicking away the pitbull, fear has a way of sapping at the will to prosper, to achieve and to progress, and its time America stopped listening to its fear and started listening to its hope.
