Romney Rips Obama
"It's why people in Israel are very concerned about Barack Obama." -- Mitt Romney today on CNN slamming Barack Obama for his willingness to meet with leaders of rogue nations.
Romney also discounted Obama's clarification yesterday before the AIPAC convention in Washington that he would only engage in diplomatic talks with nations -- such as Iran -- if there is clear progress to be made.
"Diplomatic channels are always open between nations of the world," Romney said. "But the President doesn't grace the world's worst tyrants with a propaganda bonanza."
John McCain's campaign circulated a clip of the exchange this a.m.

Romney is proving himself to be a complete moron by saying that Obama's willingness to engage in diplomacy with countries we don't get along with concerns the people of Israel.
Because, you see, Israel is currently in negotiations with Syria.
What Romney and the Republicans do is conflate the opinions of right wing, hawkish Jewish leaders in the United States with the general sentiment of the Israeli people. It's a childish and weak-minded view of the world, and it's the one that's gotten us in so much trouble over the past seven and a half years.
(1) Iran's constant and long term threats against Israel certainly concern the people of Israel. Anyone who thinks otherwise has little to no clue about real world situations, has never been to Israel and does not know any Israeli's.
(2)Syria has never threatened to "wipe Israel off the map" as Iran has (nor could they).
(3)Syria and Israel have frequent military conflicts and thus have to deal with these with negotiations but Israel certainly does not send their Prime Minister to do the negotiations.
(4) Syria is not Iran, "because, you see," they are different countries. We also have "negotiations" with Iran to stop producing nuclear materials but we dont, "you see", send the President of the United States to do those negotiations.
Most Jews in the United States are democrats and not "right wing, hawkish Jewish leaders".
And you NaR, "you see" are a pompous fool.
Regardless Syria is on our list of state sponsors of terror. By Bush and McCain's own reasoning, Israel is appeasing the terrorists!
Thinking like this is the difference between the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Cuban Nuclear Holocaust.
It's time that the American people took a moment to see how we're viewed around the world. After 7.5 years of Republican foreign policy and ask is this really the right way to go about it?
What exactly do you think Israel and Syria are "negotiating"? They are speaking but we are doing the same thing with other countries such as North Korea and Iran. Everyone speaks with each other.
The Point you seem to be missing is:
IT IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS TO SEND THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES TO DO THESE DISCUSSIONS, unless and until the other parties make some significant headway. Such a move would only legitimize their activities. And Obama is unbeleivably naive to think otherwise. Does he think his superb charm will just make everyone loves us and everyone will hold hands and sing together songs of world peace? The leaders of these countries hate America and it is NOT because of George Bush or his foreign policy. Do you think 911 was planned when President Bush was in office? It doesn't matter who the President is they despise our way of life and the freedoms we have because they know that if the people who live in their countries had these freedoms they could never be in power.
DO you really think that Roosevelt should have taken a boat ride over to Berlin and have tea with Hitler and that would have solved the whole deal?

Grow up! It is time for you to stop getting your news from the Huffington Post and actually take a look around the world.
Every "leader" who opposed our actions in the Middle East have been throw out of office in favor of a new government who has closer and better relations with America. That includes France, Germany and Italy and the list goes on and on.
The only places unhappy with our actions are populated with raging Anti-American leftist like the UN or the BBC or the nations like Iran, Syria and N Korea.
So spare us the propaganda.
Isreal is not negotiating with Syria nor is Olmert or any other minister. They are talking thru back channels usinig Turkey (if memory serves me).
That is quite different than OBam Man saying he'd talk to Capt AJay in Iran. OBam Man may be able to swoon the young and MSM but he can't Capt AJay. And that's the problem. What's there to talk about?
Oh, I get it. It makes everyone feel warm and fuzzy inside just before the bright light is seen prior to the mushroom cloud. But hey, we sure did feel good talking before we started to glow.
Mitt Romney 2012
I think the problem is that most liberals smoked an immense amount of hashish in the 60's and it still affects their brains.
They have some inexplicable mindset that if were all just nice to each other and hold hands then everything will be super.
However this mindset only applies to treating foreign dictators with love and kindness.
Killing babies through abortion and partial birth murder is fair game, because of course that is a "womens choice".
The choice was to cross your legs and stop acting like a prostitute.
Obama is a 3rd term of Inexperience!!!!!
Obama is a liar and says whatever is convenient at the time to try and stand out. He said in the debates flat out he would meet with the leaders and now he is continuously changing his statements. HE IS A LIAAAAAAR and I would never vote for him just because I am black!
Amen to the last comment
Obama is the only hope we have. I was a republican until the primaries started, but I have come to the realization that Obama is the only candidate that bridge the great divide that separates our country. We need four years of him to cool things down. Then we go back to a republican to build us back to our previous stature as a superpower, supereconomy, supereverything.

Mitt was right on the money, as usual. Obama is the most clueless nominee for President of either party for the past hundred years (with the possible exception of Carter).

Dear Barry:
I try to get along with the people in my neighborhood, but sometimes it can be difficult. Take for example my neighbor "Mahmoud." Last weekend while I was seeding my lawn, he drove back and forth slowly in front of my house "flipping the bird" from his minivan, which is painted with pictures of bloody corpses and mushroom clouds and "welcome 12th Imam." Normally I wouldn't have given it a second thought (I get "fingered" by a lot of the neighbors), but lately I've noticed he has been working on some kind of secret project in his garage with really stinky chemicals. Also, I've been getting these constant annoying 3 AM phone calls threatening to kill my kids.
Frankly, I'm sort of worried about the situation, but even the neighbors I get along with tell me I shouldn't jump to conclusions, and not to make a big deal of it. I don't want to make waves, but I also don't want to end up like the Goldbergs who had their house burned down last week. Am I being too much of a "worry wart"? Please help!
Dear Concerned:
Misunderstanding and mistrust is a two-way street, and it's important to ask yourself: what did I do to create this situation? Without thinking, sometimes the things we do can understandably trigger homicidal rage in our friends and neighbors. Put the shoe on the other foot -- how would you like it if you had a neighbor who was always showing you up with his big gas-guzzling SUV and manicured hedges?
Before things escalate further, you should take the initiative and invite Mahmoud over for coffee and chit chat. No preconditions, and maybe you could bring a pie from Bakers Square. While he is enjoying a delicious slice of Boston Cream, let Mahmoud know that you understand his feelings, and you will do whatever it takes to repair your tattered reputation in the neighborhood. As a show of good faith, why not offer him a few bags of fertilizer and fuel for his lawn mower?
"but I have come to the realization that Obama is the only candidate that bridge the great divide that separates our country"
Not buying it...sounds like a plant.
Obama has shown no ability to bridge any divide and has had no influence on neither his "church" nor his wife in healing their hatred for different races.
No need to coach your vote by hiding behind some "noble" reason, simply look in the mirror and come to terms that you are okay with voting for a person associated with racists, anti-semites and anti-American radicals to occupy the same office as Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Jackson, Reagan and the Roosevelts.
Obama has enlisted the Carter team of foreign policy advisors of Holbrooke and Brzezinski which gave us the last 30 years of misery in the Middle East. No sane person would want to relive that disaster.
He plans on instituting a European style "national healthcare", despite those countries now exploring privitization of theirs due to cost and poor service.
With Obama, you can look forward to any ills associated with his programs and policies to be blamed on "whitey".
Cory is right. Romney is right. Obama is foolishly naive.
NaR: """What Romney and the Republicans do is conflate the opinions of right wing, hawkish Jewish leaders in the United States with the general sentiment of the Israeli people."""
100% accurate.
it's sad that McCain and his supporters are so weak they are afraid to talk to another nation for fear of losing a "propaganda war." Seriously, these people are afraid of even talking to tin pot dictators. Makes me feel safer!!!
Btw, at some point all you neocon partisans will realize that you are destroying your own party -- to the Dems (and the world's) benefit. By the substance of Romney's ridiculous statements and the idiotic posts on here it looks like that light won't flick on until well after November if ever. So keep it up! Ooooh be afraid, scary scary, Obama is foolish and clueless and a liar and a black man, oooh scary scary! John McNeocon will save us! Haha. Hilarious.
How can anyone be against negogiations to prevent War????
We in Europe cannot believe such.....
We hope for a peaceful America in the future under the presidency of a man of a new generation Obama...
And- never mind the colour- it's only skin deep.
Appreciate the brain power, and stop hackling him.

If Obama is elected, do you think all blacks will have an inflated sense of entitlement? There I said it. That is my fear. Wealth redistribution could come through taxation or by the nappy headed gang down the street who feel that they are more entitled to my big screen TV than I am. All because our President is black.

That's because you only negotiate as a result of your military weakness and your single sighted focus on your self interest. If you were more like the US, you would just kick butt whenever you wanted and ask questions later. Negotiating is for the weak.
>>>What am I missing? | 06.05.08 02:10 PM
About 40 years of Civil Rights laws.
And an education.
"How can anyone be against negogiations to prevent War????
We in Europe cannot believe such....."
Another generation of Europeans were certain that they could negogiate evil men out of their aims and sold out entire regions of populations to appease those thugs. It cost the world nearly 45 million lives of all colors to teach them that sometimes words are not enough.
It must deeply sadden them that only 63 years later, another entire generation is willing to concede anything to evil in order to avoid having to act.
How much are you willing to give up?
Two men or nations of good faith can negogiate on disagreements as the Americans have done on many occasions, but when one group is negogiating to avoid confrontation when the other has another agenda, it doesn't work out as you pray. What does one do when the goal of the other negogiator is your destruction or the destruction of an ally? When the Islamist's demands are submit or die? What is your counter proposal?
After the disaster of that last group of Europeans, the then leaders of the West only talked to the Japanese for their capitulation on the USS Missouri and the Germans to accept their surrender!
It increasely appears that we are again headed down this same path. How many will have to die this time?
I like Obama a lot but I'm not sure if I can vote for him. I really feel insecure with his promises and his speeches are not accurate. He repeats the same things over and over again ,He said he will do this ...he will do that...in a long and too many words..he just has to summarize his speeches in a calm and relaxing way that we can appreciate him, too much yelling and words and noise...but where is the real promise we need now? I sometimes forgot all he said...too much..... slow down and be real. .

Being a President of a Country is not like a law firm. It is more and very hard... lots important responsibilities to deal with. We think about the economy, war, health care, and perhaps the personality of the President to keep his promises. It's hard to trust the words from the candidates who are just seeking fame ..we need to realize that change cannot happen over night...when we hear about sudden "CHANGE" ..we need to ask ourselves "HOW". Senator Obama promises "CHANGE" I agree but is he willing to keep his PROMISES ? Does he have the requirements to be President a this time? What about "EXPERIENCE"? yes it is so important that when I fiiled out an application for an important position job (any) I'm always asked "if I have previous experience. If not I'm rejected and the position is filled with someone who is more qualified . Having said that is Senator Obama fully qualified to respond to our needs and protect us against all odds? This needs a lot of thinking and consideration before we vote.
I could never vote for Romney. Mormons excommunicate gay men and women, so I JUST SAY NO to Intolerance Romney.
Let McCain speak for Romney..
www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxV-QNXoRIc
McCain campaign had started a series called ““MITT VS. FACT/SAY. DO. ANYTHING.” They have put on a clip on YouTube that has then Gov. Romney reiterating his promise to uphold abortion rights at a May 2005 press conference. That was six months after his “pro-life” conversion, as Romney has described it, during a November 2004 meeting with a researcher he felt was too cavalier about the life of embryonic cells. Now, as Romney seeks Republicans’ presidential nomination, he has vowed to work for repeal of Roe vs. Wade.
In the 2005 clip, Mitt says, “I am absolutely committed to my promise to maintain the status quo with regards to laws relating to abortion and choice and so far I’ve been able to successfully do that. And my personal philosophical view about this issue is not something that I think would do anything other than distract from what I think is a more critical agenda.”
..
MITT: Mitt Romney maintains that he changed his position on abortion to pro-life after a
"single revelatory moment" in November 2004.
VS.
FACT: A new video shows Mitt Romney, just six months after his so-called epiphany,
declaring himself "absolutely committed" to supporting pro-choice laws.
"I could never vote for Romney. Mormons excommunicate gay men and women, so I JUST SAY NO to Intolerance Romney."
Royal King
You think the Mormon church's excommunication is intolerant, wait until they stand in judgement before God.
A church can not in good faith condone behavior which is so obviously against God's Law as proscribed in the Bible. To do so would not help the sinner in repenting for their sin and would estrange the church from God.
Christians are asked to choose between worldly and heavenly things.
And here are FlipFlopper-In-Chief's some of the achievemnets..
****** Romney spent $300 on makeup 'consulting' to a California company that describes itself as "a mobile beauty team for hair, makeup and men's grooming and spa services. Romney spokesman Kevin Madden confirmed that the payments -- actually two separate $150 charges -- were for makeup.
****** According to Boston Globe Mitt put his family dog on the roof of the car during his 12 hour drive to Canada. During this journey the dog got scared and crapped on the car.
****** Its not important for Romney to capture Osama Laden. He told AP journalist that "it's not worth moving heaven and earth spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person." i.e. Laden.
****** Romney is a draft dodger who acknowledged he did not have any desire to serve in the military during his college days.

****** Mitt on pardon:
Decorated Iraq war veteran guilty of shooting a BB gun at age 13 was rejected for a pardon by Romney, though the recently convicted Libby, would be worth considering for a pardon. The primary difference here being that Libby is the right wing favorite at the moment and we all know how much Romney loves to play a crowd if it wins him a few points whereas the war vet is just a regular person who honorably served the country and even received a Bronze Star while in Iraq. Another day,
another changing position by Mitt.
****** Romney Bashed Contract With America In 1994 and called the idea of such an organized national platform overly divisive but now he thinks it was great.
****** Romney made a crackpot claim that, "In France, for instance, I'm told that marriage is now frequently contracted in seven-year terms where either party may move on when their term is up. How shallow and how different from the Europe of the past.". This is a lie.
****** During an appearance Sunday on ABC's "This Week" Romney faced questions on the evolution of his beliefs on controversial issues like abortion and gay rights. But the most interesting question -- and response -- came when host George Stephanopoulos asked Romney why he had voted for Democrat Paul Tsongas during the 1992 presidential primaries. Romney said he was a registered independent at the time, which allowed him to vote in either the Democratic or Republican primaries. "When there was no real contest in the Republican primary, I'd vote in the Democrat primary, vote for the person who I thought would be the weakest opponent for Republicans," he said. So, it was strategic voting, right? Not so fast. According to the Associated Press, Romney offered a different explanation to the Boston Globe in 1994 when he was running for Senate, saying then that he chose Tsongas over Bill Clinton because Tsongas hailed from Massachusetts and had put forward more compelling ideas.
****** Romney donated to Planned Parenthood but now claims that it was his wife and not him.
****** Romney also proved that he is not only a flipflopper but also a frequent liar or brain dead. Here is what he told Wolf during the republican debate:
"If you're saying let's turn back the clock and Saddam Hussein had opening up his country to IAEA inspectors and they'd come in and they'd found that there were no weapons of mass destruction, had Saddam Hussein therefore not violated United Nations resolutions, we wouldn't be in the conflict we're in. But he didn't do those things, and we knew what we knew at the point we made the decision to get in.".
Mitt simply does not know his facts. Saddam had IAEA doing insepections in Iraq!
****** Romney wants to make English as official language but still runs his ads in Spanish.
So Romney is a serial flipflopper, a real opportunist, and a phony.
Stanislas: "I like Obama a lot but I'm not sure if I can vote for him ... he just has to summarize his speeches in a calm and relaxing way that we can appreciate him"
Take a look at his website, you can find summaries and, if you'd like, details on all of his policy positions laid out for you to see. No "yelling" no repetition, just his policies and proposals.
Strongly suggested if you are on the fence.

To the Mitt hater above. Sounds like you may not vote for Romney. Have you not seen the news? Where have you been lately? He suspended his campaign months ago. Seems like hatred has gotten a hold on you. Do you know where hate comes from? By the way several of your claims do not make sense.
To Royal king above. Your statement reveals your ignorance of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We want every gay, lesbian, smoker, drinker, adulterer, thief, etc. to come through our doors. Even if they never make a change in this life. And so does he who is the head of this church.
Obama's on the money. Its people like Romney who are dangerously naive. They think US power will solve everything. The fact is that the US has already lost much of its power and is on a real downward slope. Attacking a phony threat like Iran's will only weaken it further.
Instead of waging mindless wars around the world, the US would do better to educate its people, give them quality healthcare, stop giving credence to religious nutcases like Hagee and Robertson. The Christian right has long brainwashed the South, now they plan to take their campaign nationwide. That ought to scare you. If not, you're already part of the brainwashed brigade.
Why is Romney still talking? Does he not realize that he already lost over $40 million of his own money and no one cares about his views?
