Backstage Passes
An offer for 10 lucky donors to meet Barack Obama backstage before he addresses the Democratic National Convention in Denver. Bizarre.
Dear Jennifer --
Barack recorded a special video invitation for you to join him at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.
Watch it now and make a donation of $5 or more before midnight this Thursday, July 31st, and you could go backstage with Barack:
Exactly one month from today, on the last night of the Democratic National Convention, more than 75,000 people will come together in the largest stadium in Denver to be part of history.
Barack is opening up the convention and his acceptance speech to as many people as possible. Supporters like you are responsible for building this movement and for bringing this campaign so far -- and Barack wants you to be part of this important moment.
Free tickets will be available soon, but if you make a donation in any amount this month, you could be one of 10 supporters selected to meet Barack backstage before he delivers his speech.
If you make a donation by midnight this Thursday, July 31st, you and a guest could be flown to Denver, spend a couple of nights in a hotel, participate in the convention, and then go backstage with Barack before the big event.
Watch this short video and make a donation of $5 or more today to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity:
The Democratic National Convention is going to be an exciting and important event for this movement and for our country. I hope you will be there to join us.
Thanks,
David Plouffe

Bizarre? It sounds like they're basically offering a door prize. I'd rather have a campaign that sells access to a $5 donor that gets lucky and has a good story to tell their grandkids than a $50,000 bundler that would like to discuss telecom deregulation.
BIZARRE?!?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
How about the fact that media outlets like On Call, CNN, AP, NYT, ABC, etc REFUSE to delineate between FACT and LIES in a PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN.
The press has failed us. They refuse to do their job. They are more interested in MONEY and RATINGS.
It is UP TO US to take our country back from the corporate media slimeballs who refuse to comment on what is -- in actuality -- fact and what is fiction.
We know better. We know we are being continually lied to. We cannot stand for this.
It is OUR country. We are NOT owned by the media. We are NOT owned by the Government. It is time we ACTED on it. Boycott the media. Boycott corporate interests whenever possible. And let them KNOW.
Write letters. Write emails. Make calls. Today. This assault on American Democracy in broad daylight cannot and will not stand.
I'd rather have a campaign that sells access to a $5 donor that gets lucky and has a good story to tell their grandkids than a $50,000 bundler that would like to discuss telecom deregulation.
Check out that list of sponsors again: AT&T, Comcast, Google--In return for donations, which can go up to $1 million or more, sponsors are promised prominent display space for corporate marketing and access to elected officials and Democratic leaders at a large number of parties and receptions.
And what is so bizarre about this message? My reaction is whoop de damn do.
Whats bizarre about it?
How about a GOP candidate unveiling a "Country First" slogan and then the same night holding hands and meeting the Dalai Lama?
Oh, and one more thing: Is this even that original idea? When a major music act comes to town, don't they give a set of backstage passes to the local music stations for distribution by a series of call-in contests? The call-in contests hype up the gig and the radio station gets increased listenership.
Isn't Obama basically doing the same thing? Is it really that bizarre?
"Bizarre" another no fact adjective, opinions in support of your candidate John MCain should be stated, "as far as I know". Sheesh
Far from "Bazarre" its a great marketing idea, far better than Andy Cards marketing idea of a war in August. Nest pas? 4,100 dead american soldiers and counting, now thats "bizarre".
got a word of the day on the ummm war???
