"Vote Both" -- an effort to push the ticket pairing of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton -- is closing its cyber shop. Word of the group's decision comes with reports that Clinton will address the Democratic convention in Denver Tuesday evening, not Wednesday, when the veep nom traditionally speaks.
A message from "Vote Both" co-founders is available after the jump.
Thank you for your continuing support as we have worked together to build the strongest Democratic ticket possible. Since April, tens of thousands of Vote Both supporters have petitioned, called, and written letters to the Obama campaign. And Senator Obama heard your enthusiasm and arguments for Senator Clinton and her leadership.
Because of your work, Senator Obama asked Hillary to be his keynote speaker at the Democratic National Convention! We hope you are as pleased as we are that he has tapped Senator Clinton to deliver one of the most important messages of that crucial week—the very role that Barack Obama had four years ago.
Regretfully, this means that Senator Hillary Clinton is no longer under consideration as Senator Obama’s running mate.
While we all were working toward a different result, ultimately we and Barack Obama are working for the same eventual outcome—getting ready to take back the White House and bring our country the change Americans deserve and so desperately need. There is nothing more important than that.
Because it seems that Senator Obama has made his decision to offer the slot on the ticket to another candidate, we believe that continuing to ask him to pick Hillary is no longer helpful to our party’s chances of winning in November.
We worked for Hillary for a combined ten years, so we know how many of you may be feeling. And to those who are hesitant to support Obama right now, we urge you to keep giving him the chance to earn your vote. We are confident he will.
Because, when it comes down to it, even the most ardent Hillary-supporter must ask himself or herself, “Do I want John McCain sending our soldiers off to more wars, giving Big Oil free rein to gouge us at the pump, and letting ideology overrule decisions that should be made on the basis of science and health?”
No. Never.
As Hillary said, “The way to continue our fight now - to accomplish the goals for which we stand - is to take our energy, our passion, our strength and do all we can to help elect Barack Obama the next President of the United States.”
We accept that charge and will do everything we can to help him win. We hope you will continue to fight with us to put our country back on track.
Sincerely,
Adam Parkhomenko & Sam Arora

Good luck on that! He just lost the rest of Hillary's supporters who were actually holding their breaths that he would be smart. Most of us though, knew better.
What an outlandish display by the Democratic Party this year. Probably the most crucial election in the history of our country and they chose Obama.
Well, I for one will have a clear conscious, just like I have for the past eight years not voting for Bush. Probably vote for a third party candidate. If I'm going to waste my vote, it might as well be someone I know can't hurt the country.
Ditto Vickey Wade. I guess I'll vote McKinney. I won't have the blood of HRC's defeat on my hands.
THE PUMAS ARE TOTALLY JUSTIFIED ...
1. Contrary to what Obamabots say ...
Obama and Hillary were in a dead heat,
when the DNC pressured Hillary into not
only conceding, but campaigning for Obama.
2. Obama is once again in a dead heat, but now
with McCain, even though Obamabots act like
Obama has already won (like they did in the
primaries against Hillary). So, this means that
half of the Democrats, and all the Republicans
(3/4 of America) dIdn't want Obama. Plus, he
didn't even win the popular vote, and refused a
revote in Michigan and Florida.
3. Obama has the thinnest resume in politics, and
he won state legislature and Senator by
disqualifications of his opponents, not by earned
experience, or votes.
4. Obama's one claim to fame is being a community
organizer, where he boasts of registering voters.
Then he took their votes away from them, by
disqualifying his opponents on technicalities, prior
to the election.
5. Obama's mentor of 20 years, was an anti-American
racist ... not to mention other unsavory associations.
6. Obama is simply buying the election, since he's
good at fund raising ... hardly a qualification to be
President of the United States.
7. The media never vetted Obama, and they are
giving him a free ride, plus more than twice the
print and air time as McCain, as they did against
Hillary.
8. 90% of blacks are voting for Obama, because he is
black, while the campaign gained ground by
accusing most opponents of racism.
9. Obamabots were, and are extremely nasty and sarcastic
towards Hillary supporters, as well as McCain supporters.
10. Pumas should be applauded for putting country before party ...
especially a party that did not represent them, and a party
which highjacked the nomination for Obama.
Anybody can pretend they are a disaffected woman from HRC's age bracket and spout this PUMA nonsense. Half of these people are probably conservative bloggers in their PJs who come up with a name like "Oh I'll call myself Gina" and then copy and paste this diatribe from some talking points website. It's just a bizarre phenomenon.
Let's face it, no feminist who cares so strongly about women's rights would ever vote for John McCain who publicly called his wife a "C-word" made fun of an adolescent Chelsea Clinton and made fun of a sitting Attorney General Janet Reno.
The fact that some desperate shameless sycophants are still using the term PUMA is a show of how low people will stoop to try to dissuade Americans from voting for real change in this country.
It's all a ploy, and the American people see through your copy and paste talking points!
Hmmm...
I wonder how many Democratic voters just don't want to vote for Obama. I've checked into the election rules for my state and found out that I can write in a Presidential candidate, or leave it blank. This will not invalidate my downticket votes.
That's my plan.
