Jackson On Jackson: "Outraged And Disappointed"
A statement from Rep. Jesse L. Jackson Jr., about his father's remarks:
"I'm deeply outraged and disappointed in Reverend Jackson's reckless statements about Senator Barack Obama. His divisive and demeaning comments about the presumptive Democratic nominee -- and I believe the next president of the United States -- contradict his inspiring and courageous career.
"Instead of tearing others down, Barack Obama wants to build the country up and bring people together so that we can move forward, together -- as one nation. The remarks like those uttered on Fox by Revered Jackson do not advance the campaign's cause of building a more perfect Union.
"Revered Jackson is my dad and I'll always love him. He should know how hard that I've worked for the last year and a half as a national co-chair of Barack Obama's presidential campaign. So, I thoroughly reject and repudiate his ugly rhetoric. He should keep hope alive and any personal attacks and insults to himself."

Instead of tearing others down, Barack Obama wants to build the country up and bring people together so that we can move forward, together -- as one nation.
Ah, memories:
Yup. Moving forward together.
Want to know what purported civil rights leaders like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakan, and the like are REALLY about? Try reading Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson's book: 'Scam: How the Black Leadership Exploits Black America'. NOTE: Rev. Peterson is black, and has the guts to call it like it is. He stated, way before Obama's recent church speech, the truth that black men must own up to their parental responsibilities. Many of the problems in the black community are a direct cause of fathers that are absent the lives of the children they fathered. Statistics say at least 70% of all black children are born to single mothers. Is there something wrong with this picture? It's hard enough to raise good kids with two good parents around. And then you get clowns like Jesse Jackson, who has the guts to call himself a reverend, takes advantage of poor blacks, by convincing them of their helplessness, and continued need for government handouts. After all, if blacks can get educated and do well for themselves, they won't need Jesse or handouts. Hence, success for blacks equals Jesse's livelihood gets cut off (and Democrats losing a HUGE part of their base. Democrats play Jesse's game too, you see). Lastly, has anyone noticed how little the 'reverend' Jackson acts like a man of God? He has a child out of wedlock, and now says Obama should have his "nu*s cut off". Reverend Peterson indicated Jesses Jackson and his "thugs" actually threatened him for speaking out against Jackson. What a moron... Obama does NOT need clowns like Jesse Jackson trying to help him in his bid for the Presidency. In my opinion, black leaders like Jesse Jackson fear Obama becoming President. You know why? It would show blacks can achieve anything - even the Presidency of the United States! And that would be devastating to the civil rights scammers!
Some of these old warriors of the Civil Right Movement ironically find it hard to swallow the successes of Obama. Some of them would have him blacker, indeed all black or just a copy of their own alter ego. But Obama is not all that. Thus, they find it even harder to see how Obama transcends not race but the binary thinking of nineteenth century racism. Rev. Jackson must ask himself why he failed miserably to win the Democratic nomination. He should listen to his son and learn from John Lewis for some lessons in “realism” – or keep his big mouth shut. This time he has to overcome his addiction to seeing himself in front and in the media. Sadly, proclivity for drawing attention to himself makes it hard for him to concede that space to his own son, Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. The Rev. Jackson would rather see himself as the national co-chairman of Mr. Obama’s presidential campaign. Did the Reverend know his father? No! How many African-American fathers have simply run away from their children and wives? How many African-Women have to raise their children as single parents? Indeed, many, many African-American fathers have failed “to recognize that responsibility doesn’t just end at conception.” Obama knows how hard it is to grow up without a father, and Obama is downright honest. Jesse Jackson’s therapy and recommendations have not emptied the American prisons of black males. Obama speaks “down to black people”? No sir, Mr Jackson! Obama has often reiterated the terrible legacies of racism and Jim Crow schools and continued structural injustices inherent in the American system. However, wisdom leads him to also discern how many, many African-American fathers have terribly failed by running away from their parental responsibilities. “Blacks” must not forget how Jews for more than 2000 years have suffered and yet have triumphed over the negative forces. Their guiding principle has been thus: sticking together and the importance of the family, especially the role of the father and hope. This is the message of Obama.
Unfortunately because of the cards Barrack has been dealt in life he has to live as what comes across as a 'sellout'. In his struggle to discover himself - white or black? Christian or atheists? American or something else? - he will 'sellout' his position and group to impress or comfort the position of another group. Right now he is bold - selling Whites what they want to buy, and letting Blacks know he is selling them out - this is the tone of his speaking churches recently. Sadly, he has, and will likely go through life ‘selling-out’ because he has no true side to rest in or a solid identity. He is trying to portray himself as someone who is a little of everyone. But every decision he makes is to the benefit of one side or another. If you are a Barrack supporter - prepare yourself, at some point in time he will sell you out too.

dear outside,
you know you don't have to vote for the person. you don't even have to listen to the person if your mind is already made up.
but to say that someone "sold out" that is just plain bull. have you ever led a group of people in your life? i don't think so. based on your opinion you seem to be the perfect follower. and you're not an outside observer you're an inside follower.
obama crisscrosses divides and seeks to bring them together. you can't see that and that's something you might just want to look at in your character. remember this is the united states; not the white states or the christian states. we experienced the "my way or the by way" mentality the last eight years. depending on your circumstances it was either great or horrible. no in between.
it's time for a change in not only thinking but doing. you know it just might be that you're not selling out when you embrace difference. it's not a black and white proposition.
someday i hope you open up your mind and if you have a heart you'll see that.
im very disapointed in jessie jackson, he is allways opening his mouth at the wrong time and in a situation, let a white person say such a comment he would lose his job...

Mr. Jackson, I am so very disappointed that you would think, let alone voice, such contempt. I expected something like this from a less educated person but not from someone who professed to believe in wanting better for blacks. I now have the confirmation that your work was always about you not your people.
Jessie Jackson and Rev Al Sharpton need to just shut up and see that Obama is looking out for the entire American population not just the black people. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but for a prominent black speaker to degrade one of his own people and someone he says he supports, jessie jackson is a hypocrite just like the rest of them - VOTE OBAMA VOTE AMERICA
If a white man had said that all hell would have broken loose and Al Sharpton would be leading the charge. Lets let JJ's comments go where they belong, in the trash can.

I am getting tired of people making statments that they really mean to say, then when the public hears those statments they say ooohhhhhh
I am soooo sorry, they are not sorry !!!!!!!!
the word APOLOGY is getting worn out !!
QUOTE:
"The black community is faced with high levels of unemployment, home foreclosures and violence, 'so we have some real serious issues -- not just moral issues,' he (Jackson) said."
Jackson criticized Obama for talking down to the black community, possibly for comments that black fathers (and mothers) need to step up and be good parents. I don't know about anyone else, but to me that is a "serious issue" that leads to a lot of other issues in the black community. Without good role models, black children won't have the positive examples to motivate them to succeed. I think this is a very big problem in our society and black parents need to wake up and step up to raising their kids to be functional and positive members of society. I applaud Senator Obama for addressing this issue because it's something that needs to be fixed in order to improve our children's future and the future of this country.
Ya know, I did not know you had to "talk" a certain way in the good ol USA. I have never liked Jackson, I think he is a racist and has made many unchoice statements over the years. For him to make comments that Obama is "Talking like a white man", that is a joke. That is exactly why there is still racism in the USA and the world. Untill people are able to accept each person as there own individual (regardless of color), we will remain in this circle of hate. Stop classifying people as black and white and start classifying them as people!
Jesse Jackson is a hypocrite and should removed
the "REV" in front of his name.
I never respected Jackson as a "REV", and now i
know why.
Barack knows how hard its to grow up without a
father in the home, that why he can speak on the
subject.
Jackson look in the mirrow before you critized
Barack Obama, you will never be the man he is.

Jesse Jackson is just one of a long list of politicians and public figures that believe it is fine to make outrageous remarks (the Clintons are the masters of this)and then apologize (trying to then get some mileage form the apology), and believe that makes it alright - and there should be no other consequences. But, real issue is the unacceptable behavior must have consequences, only one of which is the need for a sincere apology (not the "results - type" apologizes these folks issue - apologizing for any negative results to the one offended as opposed to truely apologizing for the deeply-rooted beliefs that led to the comments); then the other consequences of being appropriately penalized remain. When did it become OK to apologize and no matter how bad the behavior was it is expected to be ignored. In this case, the media should refuse to interview him from this point forward - that is a reasonable consequence.
Is is possible for America to wake up? We have the best country in the world and it is going down hill faster than anyone could have ever believed. My issue is not whether a man is black or white. I could care less. I believe in the all men are created EQUAL idea. Call me naive but that's they way it is supposed to be. I have always wondered why Black America will listen to men like Jesse Jackson. Note I do not call him a reverand due to the fact he shows no reverance to God. I cannot believe he is trying to justify his words about Obama. He said it, it was heard and there is no taking it back. Black America, White America, Hispanic America and any other race deserse honesty, forthrightness, and they need to trust the man or woman they plan on voting for.
I'm very appauld of the statement coming from
Rev Jackson. Senator Barrack Obama, in my opinion
has taken about enough from the news media,
preachers, religious group, left & right conserva-
tives and not to leave out the racial bigots etc.
In my opinion, I believe that there is a lot of
jealousy and envy! This young Senator has defied
the odds and has done something that no one had
even comtiplated him of being the nominee as the
potential President of the United States. He is
very smart, educated and no one had any idea
that he would out smart the Clintons. For this
alone, he should be congratulated. The focus
now is we need to come together and heal our
Country, instead of trying demoralizing the very
person who has a chance to make things right for
every citizens. People you need to wake up and
fight for the common ground and help our nation
heal!! It is sooner that we all realize, because
"God" has a hand in all of this and all you have
to do is look around at the natural disasters
that are taking place, as we speak. Lord, have
mercy on us all!!!

JESSE JACKSON IS AN EMBARASSMENT TO HUMAN KIND. HE IS AN IDIOT, A RACIST AND A TWO FACED MORON WHO HAS VERY POOR COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND CANNOT OPEN HIS MOUTH WITHOUT PLAYING THE RACE CARD. JESSE IS ONLY OUT THERE TO SERVE JESSE. HE PROBABLY CANNOT GET PAST THE IDEA THAT OBAMA IS HALF WHITE....IF A WHITE PERSON HAD SAID THAT THEY WANTED TO CUT OFF OBAMA'S NUTS, JESSE, AL AND ALL THE OTHER ANTI-WHITE RACISTS WOULD BE SCREAMING, DEMANDING ACTION, DEMANDING FIRINGS AND CALLING IN THE NAACP. ONE LAST NOTE, HOW COME JESSE, AL AND THE OTHERS WERE NOT DEMANDING ACTION WHEN IOWA, LIKE NEW ORLEANS, WAS DESTROYED BY FLOODS.....I WILL BET YOU KNOW THE ANSWER.
ALOHA LITTLE KAHONIES
We should all chip in to buy Jesse a small pair of clippers ... after which, he'd have a couple of little items to raffle off in the next Obama fund raiser.
Jackson should have know better because he was on FOX - Gotcha moment indeed!
Jackson might have felt offended by Barack’s comment on the black community re parenting, as he, Jackson, falls under that scope; he once trampled on his own ethical values.
It is now Barack’s time. Jackson time came and went years ago.
WHEN JESSE JACKSON RAN FOR PRESIDENT I WAS IN COLLEGE AT WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY IN DETROIT, BY CHANCE I WALKED INTO A ROOM ON CAMPUS WHERE THEN MAYOR COLEMAN YOUNG WAS TALKING TO A CROWD ABOUT THE UPCOMING PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. THE MAYOR SAID THAT HE WOULD LIKE TO ENDORSE JESSE JACKSON BUT CAN NOT UNTIL JACKSON TRUELY HAS A RAINBOW COALITION OF ALL RACES, THEREFORE I AM ENDORSING SENATOR PAUL SIMON OUT OF ILLINOIS FOR PRESIDENT.
JACKSON APPEARS TO BE ENVIOUS OF OBAMA AND THE AMOUNT OF SUPPORT HE IS GETTING.
Mr. Obama has nuts?! When did this happen?!
Oh that's right, his many nutty followers make up for what he's missing.
It is amazing to me that the Reverend Jackson would use the words that are indicative of one means of awful treatment of some black men by some whites that decided to castrate them as is recorded in America's sometimes ugly history. He is a black man himself! When will we learn that so called men of faith are oftentimes damaged goods and demented thinkers themselves? If we are not careful, black "ministers" will lose this thing for Senator Obama without any help from others. Why is a black person a sellout if they tell the truth about absent black fathers, thugs, drug dealers, etc.? No other race of people publicly ridicules their people the way blacks seem to feel free to do. I never elected any black leader to do anything for me! it is my hope that for the first time I will have the chance to elect a black leader...Senator Barack Obama, President of the United States of America! He will not, and cannot be the President of Black America! He has to become the President of the U.S.A. and that includes all Americans. Mr. Obama has not danced with the old Civil Rights elite and some of them are out to get him. It is a tragedy!
My heart goes out to Sen. Obama for the great Man that he has shown to be through this whole thing for all the comments (neg.) from people from all sides, color, race, gender.
This only shows what a choosen man of God he is, to walk this road of change for the good of this country and world. I know deep down in my heart that he will be our next presd. because it is time, and it is his time. People this has got to stop, all the hate, and fighting between ourselves. Let's get down to business and bring our country out of this hole that we have gotten ourselves in.
Sen. Obama has never said he was a saint,by no means, he has always said that he was trying to make this a better country and world for all to live in. This world belongs to God not man, God put us here to help, and make it a better place for all mankind to live. We really need to wake up people.
Thanks to the people who has made such great comments here about the cond. and cause of the Black Families, we need to step up our games, all races when it comes to the education of our young people so they can cont. to compete with the other countries.
Mr. Jackson's comment really belongs in the trash. we must keep Sen. Obama and company in our prayers. SEN. OBAMA KEEP AND STAY ON THE HIGH ROAD SON WE'RE GOING TO MAKE IT TO THE OTHER SIDE. lET'S ALL STICK TOGETHER AND VOTE OBAMA IN OFFICE IN NOV. FOR THE GOOD OF OUR CHILDREN AND GRAND KIDS NO MATTER WHAT COLOR OR RACE. I AM A PROUD SINGLE MOTHER OF THE BLACK RACE, 60 YEARS OLD AND HAS RAISED A FINE YOUNG MAN 26 YEARS OLD SINGLE HANDED WORKING TWO JOBS AT TIMES LEAVING HIM HOME SOMETIMES AS A YOUNG MAN AS EARLY AS 8 YEARS OLD TO GET HIS HOMEWORK DONE, GO TO AFTER SCHOOL SPORTS, AND BE IN BY THE TIME I GOT IN FROM WORK, AND SOMETIMES MY LATE EVENING CLASSES. BY THE GRACE OF GOD, FAMILIES AND CLOSE FREIND HELPING OUT WE MADE IT. SEN OBAMA IS SOOOO RIGHT HELPING AND GUIDING THEM IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION THROUGH EDUCATION WORKS PEOPLE, AND A SAFE AND PRAYING HOME LIFE WITH LOST OF LOVE. MAY GOD KEEP AND BLESS US.
Not envy? Those grapes are so sour I can smell them from here! What a loser Jesse Jackson has turned out to be.
The more black people lift themselves up, the less
of a role there is for the Jesse Jacksons and the
Maxine Waters. They have made a living off of defending bad behavior in the black community.
If jesse wasn't black, Al Sharpton would be outraged. I want Obama to win but can't stand Sharpton or Jackson

Many,if not all of these comments are the most deranged & "dumbed" down mindset of the American people. First of all,the majority of this country is made up of "white people"; therefore, any statistics taken will always reflect, irregardless of the percentages, the majority of the group will be white people. For those of you who want to tell African American people how they need to behave, the following: white kids are the largest group of kids using drugs, alcohol, etc.;many child molestors/pedophiles are white men(just watch msnbc to catch a predator & their documentaries, which span to cambodia,& other asian countries, etc.); majority of white people on welfare(not only, but example of the mormons-fdls,all of those people aren't married to each other "legally",but shacking up,making babies, getting welfare dollars to support them,& grown men having sex with underaged girls(& probably boys as well);working in a child support, there are more cases involving hispanics & whites;many white men don't support & don't care to support there children because if they did, you wouldn't see so many white homeless kids living on the street; & the list goes on & on. Talking about incompetence, look at the president,vice-president,etc. white america before you start chastising people, take a good look at yourself in the mirror. Also, as for Jesse Jackson, he isn't perfect,he has his flaws, but he is right on his point. If Mr. Barack Obama always says he wants to transcend race, then why focus on being the first African American president(which he isn't) & don't focus on race, when he attends functions of African Americans quick to tell them they are the reason all of these sins, every thing bad,& horrible exist in society exists because it is a lie. Also, Barack needs to realize his father was Kenyan, not African American, so no African American man deserted him, but a Kenyan man. Barack is bi-racial & that is all. Also as for jews, these people in Israel are persecuting Christians (Messanic & Palenstian). Search it for yourself.
