DENVER -- Michelle Obama, the first headliner of the DNC, will speak tonight about her husband, the values that have driven him and why she believes he'll make a fine president, according to Barack Obama's campaign.

Her speech is expected to turn on faith and family, and she'll be previewed this evening in a film -- "South Side Girl" -- narrated by her mother, Marian Robinson. The film will highlight her Chicago upbringing. Craig Robinson, Michelle's brother, will introduce her.

Meanwhile, Ted Kennedy is in Denver and expected to make an appearance this evening, if not a speech.

And here's the full line-up: Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi; Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri; Barack Obama's sister Maya Soetero-Ng and Craig Robinson, Michelle Obama's older brother; Jerry Kellman, mentor and long-time friend of Barack Obama; Representative Jesse Jackson, Jr.; former Indiana Representative Lee Hamilton; Tom Balanoff, President of Illinois SEIU; Nancy Keenan, President of NARAL Pro-Choice America; NEA President Reg Weaver; AFT President Randi Weingarten; Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan; State Comptroller Dan Hynes; Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulis; Chicago City Clerk Miguel del Valle; and Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper.

Just watched the Democratic Convention.
Before I roll with my thoughts, I feel I need to let you know how I stood going into this evening.
I was a STRONG supported of Hillary Clinton, one, because I wasn't familiar with Obama, Two, McCain will be another Republican puppet. I DID NOT like Michelle Obama from the get go, she just rubbed me wrong...
Well...., times are a changing! Sometimes as Americans we take for granted the obvious. I do not consider myself to have a prejudice bone in my body, that is true. What I didn't realize is you don't have to be prejudiced to block out somebody that looks different. My eyes have finally seen the light. Mrs. Obama was not the problem, I was the problem. We as Americans are the problem. Its time as she said to look at this world as it should be and not how it is. Its time for TRUE Americans to swallow our old ways of thinking and rise to the level our fore-fathers. Our time had come and gone once before with JFK, we didn't have the chance to see his dreams fulfilled. I found the person that could carry the torch of promise and hope, I saw it in his wifes eyes and felt it in my heart. I was to young when JFK was around, I only know of his promise because my family would tell me of what we almost had, and how it was taken too soon. I won't sit by and then have to tell me kids the same story.
We won't get another opportunity again like this for a long time, if we ever do again. I don't care if your Republican, Democrat, Independent, Communist, Atheist, well... You get the idea. We are Americans FIRST!
John McCain is one of our greatest Americans to ever grace our country, honor, service and integrity. He's got it all. Or does he... I don't want a war hero as my President, I want an American who wants what is best for all Americans not the few priviledged.
If you are a true American, think like one, and for once do the right thing for everyone. In the end it will benefit you 10 fold.
Obama for President.

Michelle Obama is a total RACIST!!!! I can not believe she said she does NOT want a white person working with them if her husband wins the election. That makes me sick. I have never voted a day in my life because I did not think any of the candidates were worthy of being the president. I was going to vote for Obama until I hear he turned his head away from the flag and she said she does not want a white person working with them in the white house. This was on the news. She is a disgrace to the USA and so is he....

Michelle Obama is a good speaker, but her speech came off as well written and scripted, probably by a crack team of speech writers. She has probably been rehearsing it for several days. But does it really reflect the real Michelle Obama? ...or, do her past, unscripted statements, and her years attending Jeremiah Wright's Trinity church reveal who she really is. It appears that Barack and Michelle are going through a massive magical make over ... right before our very eyes. All designed in response to what they ... and their campaign teams think the American people will accept as their new image.

Hey people, get a life. The level of hatred and stupidity in this country sometimes amazes me.

Well said Joe.

I think the media is missing the boat more so than ever before. The narrative is all over the place and confused, whether purposeful or not. I heard after Michelle's great speech that several people had just decided to vote for Barack Obama. The vast majority of Hillary Clinton supporters are going to vote for Barack Obama.

Being inspired by Michelle Obama's speech, I'm going to try my best to ignore the silly inflammatory posts like those above and focus on the issues that matter.

Here is a big one: Education. We need a President who cares about education.

PLEASE take a look at Barack Obama's plan to improve education:

Obama's education platform is broken down into these categories:

Early Childhood Education
K-12
Recruit, Prepare, Retain, and Reward America's Teachers
Higher Education

Barack Obama's Record

Record of Advocacy: Obama has been a leader on educational issues throughout his career. In the Illinois State Senate, Obama was a leader on early childhood education, helping create the state's Early Learning Council. In the U.S. Senate, Obama has been a leader in working to make college more affordable. His very first bill sought to increase the maximum Pell Grant award to $5,100. As a member of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions committee, Obama helped pass legislation to achieve that goal in the recent improvements to the Higher Education Act. Obama has also introduced legislation to create Teacher Residency Programs and to increase federal support for summer learning opportunities.

Barack has a comprehensive and engaging plan. Please check it out:
