"Millions"

John McCain's camp beats the celebrity drum again in the second new radio spot out this week. This one is running in what they'd only describe as "key states."

Narrator: "Celebrities like to spend their millions. Barack Obama is no different. Only it's your money he wants to spend. Obama's got plans -- big plans -- for your money. ... Massive spending. ... Piling more debt on the backs of your children and grandchildren."

Note that the crowd chant of "Obama, Obama" opens this ad. Full script available after the jump. Listen to it here:

Script For "Millions" (Radio :60)

ANNCR: Celebrities like to spend their millions. Barack Obama is no different. Only it's your money he wants to spend.

Obama's got plans -- big plans -- for your money.

Eight hundred sixty three billion in new government programs -- a 23 percent increase in the size of government.

Massive spending. That will lead to even higher budget deficits.

Piling more debt on the backs of your children and grandchildren.

Even Obama's hometown newspaper, The Chicago Tribune, says Obama has "no interest in eliminating deficit spending".

They're right. So no wonder Obama wants to raise taxes on your income, your electric bills, even your life savings.

Ready to tax. Ready to spend. Not ready to lead.

That's the real Obama.

JOHN MCCAIN: I'm John McCain and I approved this message.

ANNCR: Paid for by John McCain 2008.

This ad is quite effective. The only problem is that it couldn't be more untrue.

A) McCain is the one with an elite upbringing. He has 7 houses, $520 shoes, and a $100 million fortune that he married into. He also thinks that people who make $4 million aren't really rich. Obama just paid off his student loans a couple years ago and even had to be on food stamps as a child.

B) The nonpartisan Tax Policy Center has evaluated both candidates tax plans and has found that Obama provides triple the tax cut for the middle class that McCain does. No one who makes under $250,000 would see a tax increase with Obama.

C) The Washington Post has reported that McCain's plan to extend the Bush tax cuts (that he once vigorously opposed in his "maverick" days before he decided to run for President again) would add trillions more to the deficit than Obama.

Unfortunately lies are exactly what you get when you throw out your trusted lifelong advisers and hire Karl Rove's proteges, like McCain did last month. And we've seen this before time and time again. Obama must hit back, or else America will wake up next January with 4 more years of the policies that made George W Bush the most unpopular president in modern history.

4 more years of Karl Rove neocons running this country.

Is that really what America wants?

People are psyched about the economy?

People are psyched that our country is in debt?

People are psyched about Iraq?

People are psyched we never got Osama Bin Laden?

People are psyched to allow the Federal Government to spy on us?

People are psyched that there is no accountability of the Executive Branch?

The answer from the GOP is apparently YES.

I guess Right Wing America just loves the Bush Administration and the Neoconservatives and how they've run this country.

I guess Right Wing America just loves liars too much to want reform.

I guess Right Wing America doesn't want America to be a leader in the world for peace and prosperity.

I guess Right Wing America wants to continue this economy as is.

I guess Right Wing America wants the USA to be a Christian Military state.

We elect John McCain and American greatness will permanently become a thing of the past.

Is that what you want?

McCain is a shameless, dishonorable liar who has 10 mansions with private lakes and a private plane.

How are ads accusing Democrats of being tax-and-spenders all that effective this day and age? The public does not support the GOP on taxes anymore. It isn't 1980.

This seems like an ad to rally the GOP base and nothing more. In fact, the celebrity line is targeted entirely at the GOP base, as it has made no headway among Independents.
