Theme Night In Denver

The DNCC has announced the theme and lineup for the third night of the Dem convo, Wed. 8/27 and with Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN) and Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) listed among the scheduled speakers, the convention slate now includes every major member of Barack Obama’s reputed VP short-list.

The night’s theme will be “Securing America’s Future: Tribute to Veterans, Active Duty Military, and Military Families.” Obama’s VP candidate will be the “headline prime-time speaker.”

NM Gov. Bill Richardson, Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), Sen. Ken Salazar (D-CO), House Maj. Whip James Clyburn (D-SC), Bayh, and Biden will discuss Obama’s security and foreign policy platforms. Bill Clinton’s already-announced speech will cover foreign policy, but Clinton will also discuss “the history of Democrats making positive change in the lives of all Americans.”

Maj. Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) will speak about Obama’s “plans to make America more secure” by “investing in smart energy policies” and “reducing our dependence on foreign oil, especially from foreign sources.”

Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-PA) and Iraq War vet/’06 IL-06 rep. candidate Tammy Duckworth will “lead a tribute” to veterans, painting Obama’s veteran services plan as a part of his national security platform.

From the release: “Barack Obama offers a new, tough foreign policy approach that is neither Republican nor Democratic. Obama will implement a strong, smart American foreign policy that makes us more secure at home and advances our interests in the world by ending the war in Iraq responsibly and focusing on the threats of the 21st century -- al Qaeda, nuclear weapons, and energy security.”

..."the convention slate now includes every major member of Barack Obama’s reputed VP short-list"

How can you say this when Kaine, Dodd, Nunn and my absolute favorite Senator Jack Reed are not yet slated on the convention schedule?
