"Tiny"
New John McCain spot running in "key states" alleges that Barack Obama has minimized the threat posed by Iran.
Script For "Tiny" (TV :30)
ANNCR: Iran. Radical Islamic government. Known sponsors of terrorism.
Developing nuclear capabilities to "generate power" but threatening to eliminate Israel.
Obama says Iran is a "tiny" country, "doesn't pose a serious threat".
Terrorism, destroying Israel, those aren't "serious threats"?
Obama -- dangerously unprepared to be president.
JOHN MCCAIN: I'm John McCain and I approved this message.

McCain is a "con artist". He truncated Obama's quote with terms like "terrorism" and "destroying Israel". The ad badly distorts what Obama actually said that day, and more broadly, also distorts Obama's position on Iran.
Here is the full May 18th Obama quote, as supplied by the McCain press release itself:
"Strong countries and strong Presidents talk to their adversaries. That's what Kennedy did with Khrushchev. That's what Reagan did with Gorbachev. That's what Nixon did with Mao. I mean think about it. Iran, Cuba, Venezuela -- these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don't pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us. And yet we were willing to talk to the Soviet Union at the time when they were saying we're going to wipe you off the planet."
Very clearly, Obama didn't say that Iran doesn't pose any serious threat. Rather, he clearly said that Iran doesn't pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us.
What's more, Obama didn't simply say Iran was "tiny," as the ad suggests, in a clear effort to hoodwink viewers into thinking that Obama sees Iran as no threat at all. Rather, he said it was tiny compared to the Soviet Union.
These serious distortions are also at odds with Obama's actual positions on Iran. Obama has said that Iran is a threat to Israel.
For instance, on June 4, during a speech to AIPAC, Obama said: "There is no greater threat to Israel -- or to the peace and stability of the region -- than Iran."
Obama has also clearly said that Iran is a threat in the sense that it's liked to terrorism, despite the ad's suggestion that Obama doesn't see terror as a threat.
During his June 4th AIPAC speech, Obama said of Iran: "Its support for terrorism and threats toward Israel have increased."
* McCain is same old dishonorable LIAR *

Agreed.

Bush had 8 years to deal with Iran as one of the "Axis of Evil". With Dick Cheney and John McSidekick at his side, WHAT DID HE DO OTHER THAN THREATEN WAR WITH IRAN?!?!
NOTHING!!!
Give it a rest, Barack Obama will be a MUCH stronger, much more effective, much much smarter presence on the international stage.
So what is Pres. Obama going to do? Wear a burka and "talk" Iran into stopping their terrorist activities across the world? Is he going to "talk" them out of building nukes, blowing up people, shipping rockets to bombard Israel, threatening the world? What is he going to do if Iranians ... say ... blow up a ship? Is he then going to "talk" them into saying they are sorry? Or do you think that if he is President, the Iranians will automatically change and become good citizens of the world?
If you think being a "smarter presence on the international stage" will change the way rogue countries or evil individuals act, then do you believe we could have "talked" Hitler into behaving? Could we have "talked" Sadam Hussain into stopping his murdering, torturing, starting wars, using poison gas, developing nukes, flooding the oceans with oil, invading neighbors? Oh that's right, you think we should have just left Saddam alone in Iraq, and everything would have been all right.
Incidentally... given the dems voted to go to war in Iraq and Afghanistan, and then started undercutting the prosecution of that war, what was Pres. Bush suppposed to do with Iran? Was he supposed to "talk" them into being nice? Isn't that what Carter tried to do?
Don't worry, I am pretty sure Biden has a much higher IQ than Akmadinijad
This McCain ad is a blatant distortion, if not an outright lie. I would hope that you wouldn't allow your site to be an accomplice to the McCain disinformation campaign.
Once again.
The message from the Extreme Right couldn't be clearer:
"We don't care if our candidate lies."
The partisan Republicans on this board will go ahead and support their Neoconservative Authoritarian candidate, but I hope the rest of America wakes up.
It couldn't be clearer. We need to break the pattern of from the 8 years of Authoritarian Rule over our country.
We need to vote not FOR McCain or against Obama, we need to vote FOR America.
And not raise our taxes.
