A Meeting

President Bush has called both presidential candidates and House and Senate leaders to the White House tomorrow in an effort to find consensus on the bailout plan.

A statement from Barack Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton:

“A few moments ago, President Bush called Senator Obama and asked him to attend a meeting in Washington tomorrow, which he agreed to do. Senator Obama has been working all week with leaders in Congress, Secretary Paulsen, and Chairman Bernanke to improve this proposal, and he has said that he will continue to work in a bipartisan spirit and do whatever is necessary to come up with a final solution. He strongly believes the debate should go forward on Friday so that the American people can hear from their next President about how he will lead America forward at this defining moment for our country."

Since long time ago Sen. McCain called Sen. Obama for debate, can you remember? I see 2 people looking for the same CHAIR, but one of then thinking in the COUNTRY FIRST and the other one to Make History!!! Don't take me wrong... I am registered Democrat, but traditional, not extreme LIBERAL.

Thank goodness there are some level headed Republican congressmen who will not be rushed, or pressured into a quick fix requiring 700 Billion dollars. This supposed need to rush this through, has smelled bad from the beginning. Kudos to Senator John McCain for having the leadership and responsibility to investigate this bill, before allowing a couple of boobs like Reid and Pelosi to hurry it into law. Since former Chairman Greenspan warned congress about this six months ago, but was blocked by the Democrats, why in the heck don't they bring him in, before rushing this bill, which could haunt America for decades.
