"Alaska Maverick"

A new 30-second John McCain spot running in "key states" compares Sarah Palin's record of reform with Barack Obama's. Favorably, of course.

Narrator: "She's 'earned a reputation as a reformer.' His reputation? Empty words."

With this spot McCain -- previously touting a message of experience and judgment -- has transitioned to the maverick/reformer label he embraced in 2000. Which matches up better with the change candidacy offered by Obama?

Script For "Alaska Maverick" (TV :30)

ANNCR: The Journal says: "Governor Palin's credentials as an agent of reform exceed Barack Obama's."

They're right.

She "has a record of bi-partisan reform."

He's the Senate's "most liberal."

She "took on the oil producers."

He gave big oil billions in subsidies and giveaways.

She's "earned a reputation as a reformer."

His reputation? Empty words.

JOHN MCCAIN: I'm John McCain and I approved this message.

Turns out Palin is MORE LIKE BUSH than even John McSidekick!

New TrooperGate developments:

She is claiming Executive Privilege to shield emails (!) and she is now stonewalling the investigation and refusing to talk about her lies under oath (!)

Yikes!

We already knew that McSidekick is more of the same... But now we know, so is Palin!

Palin and a Maverick.. my a**!

* Palin aggressively sought federal earmarks for Wasilla

* Palin employed a lobbying firm to secure almost $27 million in federal earmarks for a town of 6,700 residents

* She inherited a city with zero debt, but left it with indebtedness of over $22 million

* Palin is currently under investigation for firing AK ex-Public Safety Commis. Walt Monegan, who told the Anchorage Daily News that he felt pressured by the governor's office to fire Palin's ex-brother-in-law, Mike Wooten, “a trooper who had been locked in a child-custody battle with Palin’s sister.”

* Palin has history of questionable police firings. Per AP she fired Police Chief Irl Stambaugh because he supported her election opponent John Stein

* Palin is a product of the corrupt Alaska republicans that produced the indicted Ted Stevens and ethically tarred Don Young

* Palin has been a member of a radical party, Alaskan Independence Party, that wants to secede from United States

* Founder AIP that Palin courted professed "Hatred For The American Government;" Cursed "Damn Flag"

* Palin owns three homes -- one is her family's main residence and the other two are for recreation, according to the Center for Public Integrity

* Palin listens To Hate Speech Against Jews In her Church in August 2008

* Palin is anti-science and is a hardcore creationist

* Palin is opposed to abortion even in cases of rape and incest

* Palin vetoed to slash funding for a state program benefiting teen mothers

* Palin has admitted that she used marijuana but she did not like it

* Palin does not know the duties of VP

* Palin's idea of executive leadership involves firing the people you perceive as non-supporters, and outright abuse of power

The same AP story has a State judge ruling that Palin had the right as Mayor to fire the police chief for any reason whatsoever. There isn't anything to that story. Nice selective reading of the story. I'm not sure about the other parts of your list but if you slant things like you do the police chief story I am hard pressed to give you much credibility.

NOT TRUE
Palin has been a member of a radical party, Alaskan Independence Party, that wants to secede from United States...

***Her husband was a member and it has no impact on this race.
___________
Palin owns three homes -- one is her family's main residence and the other two are for recreation, according to the Center for Public Integrity

** No one cares
______________
NOT TRUE
Palin is anti-science and is a hardcore creationist.

**AP story filed from Alaska clears up this misnomer. "Palin has not pushed creation science as governor."

_____________
Palin is a product of the corrupt Alaska republicans that produced the indicted Ted Stevens and ethically tarred Don Young

** A product? She challenged Gov Murkoski (R) in a primary. Murkowski was supported by Stevens and in Stevens hip pocket. Get real.

_____________
Palin has admitted that she used marijuana but she did not like it

** No one cares. See Bill Clinton's MTV answer from 1992.

I was supprised to hear that Palin was a moose hunter. We need somebody who protect our deteriorating wild life. They have to have some person who cares for wild life and the envirenment.
Also, she has a daughter 17 years old and pregnant. If Palin managed her home front properly, the little daughter should have been in college not at home expecting a baby.
We need politicians who set an example instead of being hypocrits.
Last but not least, remember the whole world is looking at us as America is the most powerful country in the world. We should not become a laughing stock in the international community.

For once, in since President Kennedy, we watch tonight as true Americans Sen. John McCann and Gov. Sarah Palin and the Republican Party stood up with once voice and spoke the concerns that all Americans face today. Spoke the about the truth about the true lack of a real record of reform of Sen. Barack Obana’s and about the dream of the Democratic party not being in-sync with the voice of American’s.
You have our vote for President and Vice President!

First of all I want to say that aside from Palin being an exceptional selection by our future President, I think it is extremely immature and naive to give out a list of "her negative history" like someone did earlier because the fact that she tried mariguana has to be the most ignorant comment by far. She is not only the most popular governor, but she is one of the few women who have had such success. She might have less experience than Obama. This does not indicate that all who have "experience" are qualified for the job. Its not about how much experience you might have, but how well you are going to put the one you've got to use. I am clearly a Republican, and if you saw the Washington Journal this morning an actual supporter of Obama stated on public television that she thinks the RNC completely has it this year, so regardless of each candidates "history" or flaws its about what everyone as Americans all seek which is a nation with a strong hero who's willing to do what it takes to eliminate the hazards we face at the moment and not promise an independance of oil which is an unrealistic factor at the moment. As for the economy its slowly rising, and if we are a country of liberty and equality, I doubt that taxes should be imposed on a specific class including the rich who for the most part earned their income fair.

I believe that the people themselves will not allow this tax stuff to occur, and not only that but how can you possibly tell a nation that you are willing to fund over 150 million for x the cause if that money is definately not coming from Obama's pocket. It will come from the government and guess what guys? We are the ones who pay the money for the government so I highly doubt that neither a Republican, Democrat or independant voter is willing to do that for issues that are of less concern right now than McCain's concerns.
