I am getting a little tired of candidates who are mirely seeking my vote preaching to me about what they think is appropriate behavior.

Republicans come out waving the Down's syndrome baby card, and then put out a press statement of this sort today; and as a voter wanting to stay abreast of the issues and people pushing their agendas, I will leave no stone unturned.

Just as in court, when you put something out there, on the table, then it is open for debate. Not only that, I can look and see things that are questionable this family,who may end up being, our first family.

I watched Meet the Press Sunday and heard the promotional of Sarah Palin. However, what I don't understand is why did they send in the low level, of the Republican tier, if the base is so excited?

Where are the big endorsements from prominent Republican members such as: Newt, Pat Buch, George Bush (41 especially, and, 43) Karl Rove, Rice, Cheney? And, the brigade of high ranking Republican military generals to solidify her "readiness"? Just to name a few players. What happened to Morning Joe's Scarborough this morning promoting her? No American wants to watch 3 day coverage of a hurricane, all day long. We can, ourselves, go to the internet and get up-to-date info on the storm.

Basically, the "buzz" is the Republican Party has realized McCain blew it with this choice. Nobody, is buying this hard sell. The internet is a-buzz because mainstream media is running scared of their bosses who want to keep the good spin going. There has been very little oposing viewpoint on any media channel since the announcement. And, in some cases, attempts at outright sensorship from both sides of the aisle. We Americans are loving this. It's pure power. We can go from site to site linking stories, sourcing out our own material and sharing it with others in our social groups.

With this being a holiday weekend, and because of what I described above, we can circulate our own media bias just as CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, ABC, etc., whatever, that may be. This family issue is more about control and spin then anything else for the politicians and media. Don't fall for it.

In my fact finding research mostly Alaskian Newspapers (I was reading for an entire day, it was that extensive); as an Independent, voter with conservative viewpoints, I found out:

Palin has ethics and judgment problems - 1.) Questions about the baby, high risk pregnancy, her behavior when faced with going into labor while out of town, etc. 2.) HIGHLIGHTing: Using a special needs baby, for campaigning, is extremely poor judgment even with some conservatives. What does her husband do? Every report is--has worked for, or seasonal. What does that mean...sits home, lives off his wife, pumps out babies and watches his wife work herself to death? She's either on her back or her feet working. This is the life, no woman wants. HOW IS THIS SETTING AN EXAMPLE FOR WOMAN?

This picture sends the wrong message to our sons and daughters. Maybe, you should give us clarity by doing a investigative story on Mr. Palin so voters can have all the facts.

NOW THE 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IS PREGNANT AND IT MAY NOT BE THE FIRST TIME THIS YEAR. When are the children being parented? How they treat their children is how they will treat ours.

I do feel a DNA test is in order before I cast my vote. Or I won't be voting for the MCCain/Palin ticket. Folks, this is an election. Each individual determines what is appropriate for them to make an intelligent decision. Get over yourself with the self-righteousness.

The Vice Presidency of the United States is a 24/7 job. What is Sarah Palin going to give up if John McCain is elected and she becomes the VP? How is she going to give adequate attention to a 4 month old special needs baby, a pregnant 17 year old daughter and, oh yes, her job?

Something has gone horribly wrong here.If Mr.McCain knew about this, he might want to have spent five minutes thinking about the implications to our great country.

I admire Obama's statements about family being "off-limits" it shows his character. I am worried about Palin's family life. She seems to be a woman on -the -go and her family needs her to be at home. She chose to have her children and they need a mother that can help them through life's challenges. Palin is turning this campaign into a circus. Palin needs to raise the kids she wanted to have and throw her family to the wind. It is very obvious that she is needed at home. Teenagers need mothers and fathers who care about them and are not wrapped up in drama and media.

CNN was DISGRACEFUL today with the attack against the Palin family using the pregnancy situation to talk about abstinence issues. Bristol is a minor, leave her alone. You have one of your stupid reporters up in Alaska "investigating" Palin trying to tear her apart. When have you put in even 10% of that effort investigating Obama's relationship with the US terrorist Bill Ayers and convicted felon and slumlord Tony Rezko??? Hey, CNN, at least appear like you're non-partisan.

Obama couldn't have said it any better...it is off-limits! Yet, somebody will complain about how Obama said it and such. Look at the WHOLE picture and you will see that Obama IS the RIGHT choice for President.

I agree Sarah Palin's daughter pregnancy is a family matter. But I question the good judgement of a woman who would have all this going on in her family and subject them to this kind of spotlight. She is under investigation due to a brother in law, husband having prior dui charges, teenage mother, and a young child with special needs. This woman is being shoved down the throughts of Americans as a family values hockey mom when she looks to be more concerned about her career.

Mrs. Palin is probably a nice lady who did a wonderful job as Alaska's gov. However, I think she's really neglecting her parental duties first to the special needs baby who I'm sure needs his mom then, to her pregnant teenager who will definitely need her mom as she goes through her pregnancy. As a married, pregnant adult, I needed my mom quite often. I'm grateful I didn't have to look for her some where along the campaign trail. Mrs. Palin really needs to think this whole thing over. I'm sure Sen. McCain will undrestand if she has to step down due to pressing family obligations.

I disagree with Obama on many things. His programs sound great, my concern is -how won't they won't come out of my middle class pocket? The rich find tax breaks and loop holes. Kennedy's and estate tax, Clinton's and the Clinton foundation. Oh, that's not to say rich republicans don't get off really well either! What is the real significant difference between being single and pregnant and getting married simply because you are pregnant? Yes, Obama is right that Palin's daughter should be off limits. But her mother's judgement is not off limits. Surely being a good mother involves protecting a child from harm. That Sara Palin is willing to subject her 17 year old child to the attention she will be getting over her pregnancy makes it very clear that she is willing to put her ambition above her daughter's well-being. So much for her 'Mother of the Year' credentials. Shame on her. And on McShame for asking Palin to place politics over family. So much for Republican family values!

Palin's family may be off limits but there is a real danger in bring up Bristol Palin's pregnancy. I have a 16 y/o daughter who is a teenage mother. I love my daughter and my beautiful grandson, but teenage pregnancy is NOT NOT NOT OK!! Teenage pregnancy in our suburban area seems to be rampant. To expose Bristol Palin's pregnancy, whitewash it by the GOP & media, and move on is to "NORMALIZE" teenage pregnancy. Bristol marrying the father will not smooth this over. This pregnancy is exactly the reason Palin's being chosen as VP candidate is not ok. We should not be giving our daughters the message that prenancy is ok. I'm believing that Palin's daughter needed more supervision and Mom needed to be home more often.

I am very troubled by the latest developments related especially with Paulin’s teen pregnancy. Despite the fact that no one in the campaign acknowledges it publicly, this is a very sticky issue for many conservative and independents.
I am even more troubled by the positions this religious leaders have taken than Paulin’s teen pregnancy itself!
They would only tarnish the maverick and independent stature for McCain by shilling too hard for Paulin's poor parenting record.
Paulin and these evangelicals are supposed to represent the new moral values for this country and the young generation. Instead the republican change theme becomes more like an abdication from the values that guided this party for decades.
Just remember the Lynn Spears teen pregnancy outrage or how babies were removed from teen FLDS members just some months ago.
Everyone was up in arms condemning those immoral acts, but today suddenly is not just OK, but also encouraged by the very same fanatical clergy.
I am puzzled by the judgment and values of this kind of leaders and I definitely don’t want them as spiritual mentors or examples for my daughter.
