Quinnipiac Poll: Obama Leads In PA, OH; McCain Up In FL
A new Quinnipiac University battleground survey shows Barack Obama leading John McCain in Pennsylvania and Ohio and the GOPer edging the Dem nom in Florida. Obama's advantages have diminished, however, since the 8/26 poll. And voters in all three states applaud McCain's selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate.
* Florida: McCain leads 50% - 43%, compared to 47% - 43% 8/26;
* Ohio: Obama is up 49% - 44%, compared to 44% - 43% last time;
* Pennsylvania: Obama leads 48% - 45%, compared to 49% - 42%.
The Palin reviews:
She's a good choice, say: 60% - 26% in Florida, 57% - 30% in Ohio and 55% - 33% in Pennsylvania.
Also note that since 8/26, McCain's support among white women is up four percentage points in Ohio and five points in Pennsylvania, and dropped two points in Florida, where it was high to start.

I would just like to know where are they taking these polls and who are they calling. I've been a registered voter in 5 different states (One being Ohio) for 41 years and have NEVER been called on a poll. I know where Quinnipiace is because my daughter has taught there for many years, she's never been called on a poll either. It just seems strange that if they want white women voters, both old (like me) and young (like my daughter) to answer their polls, they should at least call some of them. Kind of makes one wonder since McCain has suddenly jumped up, that perhaps they are only calling Republicans for their opinions.
I am skeptical about many of the polls since numbers can be skewed to support one caue or candidate oer another, whomever you contact. I do NOT believe that any questions on Obama's race will be given a true response, especially by older whites, male or female. However, when you look at his concrete policies versus those of McCain, Obama's are very clear. McCain is still offering platitudes and empty promises. Saying you don't know Obama's policies--when he has said them and are found on his website--is code for "no" because of his race. Admit it.

Dee,
Can you name ONE of Barry's clear policies? Other than raising taxes, spending more on earmarked funds, teaching 5 year olds about sex (look hard enough and you'll see it is true), and telling everyone GWB is bad and wrong? Why does he want to end the war on terror? Are we getting to close to some of his family? His Muslim (he said it) family?
And please, don't blame Bush. That is the worst cop out you stupid liberals have ever come up with. We are still fixing Jimmy Carter's term, we don't need another one. And don't tell me "race", I voted for Alan Keyes!
@ Newt,
You have to be kidding. No one can tell you about "race"? Still you spew such hatred and lies about him being Muslim and getting close to his family and then have the nerve to act like it is true. Even Republican commentators are no longer telling those lies. People like you throw rocks and run and hide. Shameful
You know what I would love to know !!!1
What kind of deal has been agreed upon with the Clintons and Obama
Lets face it....For 2 years, the Clintons have been telling us...OBAMA is NOT experienced. He CAN'T do the job, they would even vote for McCain.
Suddenly, Bill is saying Obama will win in a landslide, and Hillary is working her ass pushing Obama.
Somethings up folks

The racism really concerns me. Don't even try to tell me it's not there or it's "not too bad". My son and I have been working the phones for the Obama campaign in our own community, largely caucasian, and what we hear is often disgusting. A lot of people don't try to hide it at all. So much for "code". I have asked several folks who have expressed such repugnant language if they have anything against Obama besides his color and they are often tongue-tied, and it becomes clear that really is the only issue as they sputter about.
I am caucasian, and I have to say, I am somewhat ashamed.
We are hoping that the largely cell phone-only crowd, who are not part of the polls, the 18-34 year olds, are enough to balance it out a bit.
The democrats and the liberal press are making a bunch of hay out of Bill Clinton's endorsement and predictions for Obama ... but, everyone knows that in reality, Bill Clinton doesn't like Obama for playing the race card against him, discrediting Clinton's legacy, and trashing HIllary in the primaries. Everyone knows that due to DNC political pressure, Bill and Hillary are compelled to support Obama, to insure their own political futures. Therefore, any endorsements, or predictions about Obama by Bill, or Hillary should be taken with a grain of salt, at best. Personally, it saddens me to see Bill Clinton put in a situation where he has to put party above country.
Greetings from Chicago where it has been raining for several days. Kind of reminds me of movies where characters say things like - "some day a strong rain is gonna come and wash these streets..." Maybe we can begin that day of washing away the streets by calling out the McCain camp for the lies and misinformation that they perpetuate in their ads and in stump speeches. But then again maybe stump speech is code for stumped - which is what I am when it comes to someone supporting McCain given his inability to utter cogent comments about the economy, about battling fundamentalist terrorism, about sensible environmental plans, about codifying equal pay requirements for women, and about resolutely defending personal reproductive choice, and about a health care plan that will be a first line of defense for the vast multitudes of folks in this country who are unprotected. Wow, sounds like I just made a campaign pitch for Barack Obama. Actually, the pitch comes from the fact that Barack has a plan and McCain is a doddering hothead looking to sustain his irascible flyboy image for the next generation. It is time to move on!
