Team Obama On Palin: "Written By George Bush's Speechwriter"
Barack Obama's campaign responds to Sarah Palin’s speech:
“The speech that Governor Palin gave was well delivered, but it was written by George Bush’s speechwriter and sounds exactly like the same divisive, partisan attacks we’ve heard from George Bush for the last eight years. If Governor Palin and John McCain want to define ‘change’ as voting with George Bush 90% of the time, that’s their choice, but we don’t think the American people are ready to take a 10% chance on change,” said Bill Burton, Obama campaign spokesman.

How come Palin did not say anything about current economic crisis? Not a single word?
She talked about cutting taxes. Were you not paying attention?
What Commie wrote Obama's speech?
One word for Obama:
wah.
Obama is a socialist. Under dopes like him we have less freedom.
Go ahead, vote for less freedom, idiots.
That's a pretty weak response, Camp Obama. (And you don't "vote with George Bush"; presidents don't vote in Congress.)
Ummm... because there IS no current economic crisis? Yes, there are economic *issues* to be dealt with, but growth in the last quarter was 3.3%, and around 2.something percent in the previous quarter.
Despite a lot of naysaying from the Left and the media, the economy is actually doing relatively well DESPITE the rise in energy prices, and the mortgage-industry implosion... which is a tremendous testament to just how strong this economy IS.
Funny. Most of Bush's speaches have always avoided being devisive, and when it's policy he has always invited opposing views and other ideas. It's the Dems that always came out swinging the partisan sword.
Wow, Barry...very profound! And who writes your speeches??
very childish on behalf of obama. palin played a major role in the speech as well. she writes her speeches back home.
by the obama campaign mentioning this it shows they were out done. just like at saddleback when mccain did better and obamas response was 'he cheated'

Oil is the only economic crisis right now. She spoke very strongly about our economic crisis.
And what speech writer wrote Obama's speech? We sure can tell when he gets away from a script.
What current economic crisis? the economy is growing albeit at a slower rate. The housing crisis is just gamblers that lost betting that housing prices would always go up and never fall. 5.7% unemployment? what other economy our size has full employment? High fuel prices? Democraps keeping it high by not doing anything so they can use it as an election issue.
Americans are tired of rhetoric. Bush bush bush! Is not going to work. Sarah spoke to the true issues and the Obama campaign is clearly scared that the bottom of the GOP ticket is more competent than the top of the Dems.
Well, Barry got his ass handed to him on a platter. And all they can say is she didn't write the speech. How sad and how weak. Bet Barry is out writing another book...HA
Nothing about housing crisis.
Palin does not care about average Americans, she owns 3 houses while McCain owns 12 houses.
Well, Barry got his ass handed to him on a platter. And all they can say is she didn't write the speech. How sad and how weak. Bet Barry is out writing another book...HA
Didn't Obama steal several lines from "The American President". Oh yea, that's different
Geez, they're really grasping for straws!!! It's very funny listening to some MSM commentors reacting to her speech.
National Enquirer has come with a breaking story about Palin's affair with her husban's business partner. If true this would force her to drop out.
Now McCain is threatening to sue the National Enquirer about the story:

WOW!
I write all of obamas speeches..and marching orders!you idiots!
Ultra conservative Byron York chides Palin and McCain for celebrating Bistol's teenage pregnancy by bringing the father of the baby on stage.
Quoting York:
"Perhaps I'm focusing on an irrelevant issue, but the presence, or non-presence, of Johnston on the stage tonight strikes me as important. It's one thing for delegates to be understanding and compassionate about the fix these two teenagers have gotten themselves into. It's another to actually celebrate it. And, given what we've learned in the last few days, if Johnston is up on stage with his girlfriend and the Palin family, and Republicans are wildly cheering, it will certainly look like they are celebrating this situation.
I don't usually engage in these scenarios, but I'll do it here. If the Obamas had a 17 year-old daughter who was unmarried and pregnant by a tough-talking black kid, my guess is if that they all appeared onstage at a Democratic convention and the delegates were cheering wildly, a number of conservatives might be discussing the issue of dysfunctional black families."
wow! Palin is the real deal and connects with blue collar types in a way that Biden and Obama only dream.
Palin has energized the base, reached out to independents and will make great inroads with many of Clinton's supporters.

Can't take credit for this but just read this at LGF...
"Mrs. Smith and Wesson goes to Washington!"
May Day! May Day!
This is O-Force 1. I'm going down!!!! Crash and burn!
Haha. Is that what Camp Obama's retort is??? ...and when did Bush give a good speech?? Hahaha, that was a laughable response. Your boy Letterman mocks Bush's speeches every night and Camp Obama comes back with that response. Hahaha. Funny.
Palin did a wonderful job. Obama has said some pretty stupid things but his response to her speech was pretty idiotic. She took him and his supporters to task about his pathetic record. How did he make it as far as he did? The people that follow him are no better than sheep. As an African American, I think, therefore I will vote for McCain/Palin.
//Well, Barry got his ass handed to him on a platter//
No, he didn't. That was a pretty sorry set of speeches tonight, and on delivery and substance not one of them compared to Obama's speech, not even close.
Good luck carrying independents and moderates with this chum for the base, especially given the cynicism and scandal that McCain has brought upon himself.
Peggy Noonan and Mike Murphy caught on live mic today calling Palin a B*LLS*IT choice:
The full transcript:
Murphy: ...because I come out of a blue swing-state governor world. Engler. Whitman. Tommy Thompson. Mitt Romney. Jeb Bush. And I mean, and these guys, this is all like how you win a Texas race, just run it up. And, IT'S NOT GOING TO WORK.
Noonan: IT'S OVER.
Murphy: Still, McCain can give a version of the Lieberman speech and do himself some good
Chuck Todd. [Unintelligible]... think the Palin pick is insulting to Kay Bailey Hutchinson?
Noonan: ...saw Kay this morning.
Todd: [sounds like 'she's not comfortable talking about it????]
Murphy: They're ALL bummed out
Todd: Is she really the most qualified woman?
Noonan: Most qualified? NO. I think they went for this, excuse me, political b*llsh*t about narratives.
Todd: yeah, they went to narratives.
Murphy: I totally agree.
Noonan: Every time Republicans do this, because that's not where they live, and that's not what they're good at, they blow it.
Murphy: You know what's really the worst thing about it? The greatness of McCain is "no cynicism" and this is cynical.
Todd: And as you called it, "gimmicky"
Palin takes pride in lying about Bridge To Nowhere
Palin in her speech:
I told the Congress "thanks, but no thanks," for that Bridge to Nowhere."
The FACT:
According to Ketchikan Daily News 9/2006
“Palin said Alaska’s congressional delegation worked hard to obtain funding for the bridge as part of a package deal and that she ‘would not stand in the way of the progress toward that bridge.”
Quote: “Palin said Alaska’s congressional delegation worked hard to obtain funding for the bridge as part of a package deal and that she ‘would not stand in the way of the progress toward that bridge.”
Well, she voted for the bridge before she voted against it. Suck on that.
This Palin chick is a angry woman who is opposed to abortion even in cases of rape and incest.
I do not want her anywhere close to the WH.
She is against everything that a woman should stand against.
I loved it cant believe how scared the O camp is. Let me say I think this and that are off limits but my surrogates will run out and slander this woman . Obama is a bum, no more taxes no socialism!!!!!!GOD BLESS AMERICA. why didnt anyone pay attention to all the scandals involving this man. but they can attack this woman all they want, thats fair right ? you bums
If Obamas daughters were pregnant do you really believe they would know who the father was? They wouldn't be pregnant for long, he wouldn't allow then to have such an inconvenience
Dr. Laura hates Palin.
According to her:
I'm stunned - couldn't the Republican Party find one competent female with adult children to run for Vice President with McCain? I realize his advisors probably didn't want a "mature" woman, as the Democrats keep harping on his age. But really, what kind of role model is a woman whose fifth child was recently born with a serious issue, Down Syndrome, and then goes back to the job of Governor within days of the birth?
I am haunted by the family pictures of the Palins during political photo-ops, showing the eldest daughter, now pregnant with her own child, cuddling the family's newborn. When Mom and Dad both work full-time (no matter how many folks get involved with the children), it becomes a somewhat chaotic situation. Certainly, if a child becomes ill and is rushed to the hospital, and you're on the hotline with both Israel and Iran as nuclear tempers are flaring, where's your attention going to be? Where should your attention be? Well, once you put your hand on the Bible and make that oath, your attention has to be with the government of the United States of America.
If Obama's daughters got pregnant it wouldn't be for long, remember he would never allow such an inconvenience.
That's it? That's how they're going to take her on? Boy, I guess they think the entire country is made up of Kos Kids.
Palin's career highlights:
• Palin is under investigation for ethical violations.
• Pailn is closely tied to Alaska's corrupt politicians.
• Pailn loves pork.
• Pailn supported the bridge to nowhere.
• Pailn turned your town's budget surplus into a deficit before you moved on.
• Pailn has close involvement with indicted Senator Ted Stevens.
• Pailn's carwash business was shut down by the government for failure to comply with regulations.
• Palin and her husband were member of a radical political party that advocates secession from the United States.
• Palin tried to hide the fact that her teenage daughter was pregnant.
AP's story on the speech.
Attacks, Praise Stretch Truth At GOP Convention
ST. PAUL, Minn. — Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her Republican supporters held back little Wednesday as they issued dismissive attacks on Barack Obama and flattering praise on her credentials to be vice president. In some cases, the reproach and the praise stretched the truth.
Some examples:
PALIN: "I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending ... and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress 'thanks but no thanks' for that Bridge to Nowhere."
THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a "bridge to nowhere."
PALIN: "There is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform _ not even in the state senate."
THE FACTS: Compared to McCain and his two decades in the Senate, Obama does have a more meager record. But he has worked with Republicans to pass legislation that expanded efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to help destroy conventional weapons stockpiles. The legislation became law last year. To demean that accomplishment would be to also demean the work of Republican Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, a respected foreign policy voice in the Senate. In Illinois, he was the leader on two big, contentious measures in Illinois: studying racial profiling by police and requiring recordings of interrogations in potential death penalty cases. He also successfully co-sponsored major ethics reform legislation.
PALIN: "The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars."
THE FACTS: The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama's plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain's plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.
Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.
He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise.
MCCAIN: "She's been governor of our largest state, in charge of 20 percent of America's energy supply ... She's responsible for 20 percent of the nation's energy supply. I'm entertained by the comparison and I hope we can keep making that comparison that running a political campaign is somehow comparable to being the executive of the largest state in America," he said in an interview with ABC News' Charles Gibson.
THE FACTS: McCain's phrasing exaggerates both claims. Palin is governor of a state that ranks second nationally in crude oil production, but she's no more "responsible" for that resource than President Bush was when he was governor of Texas, another oil-producing state. In fact, her primary power is the ability to tax oil, which she did in concert with the Alaska Legislature. And where Alaska is the largest state in America, McCain could as easily have called it the 47th largest state _ by population.
MCCAIN: "She's the commander of the Alaska National Guard. ... She has been in charge, and she has had national security as one of her primary responsibilities," he said on ABC.
THE FACTS: While governors are in charge of their state guard units, that authority ends whenever those units are called to actual military service. When guard units are deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, for example, they assume those duties under "federal status," which means they report to the Defense Department, not their governors. Alaska's national guard units have a total of about 4,200 personnel, among the smallest of state guard organizations.
FORMER ARKANSAS GOV. MIKE HUCKABEE: Palin "got more votes running for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska than Joe Biden got running for president of the United States."
THE FACTS: A whopper. Palin got 616 votes in the 1996 mayor's election, and got 909 in her 1999 re-election race, for a total of 1,525. Biden dropped out of the race after the Iowa caucuses, but he still got 76,165 votes in 23 states and the District of Columbia where he was on the ballot during the 2008 presidential primaries.
FORMER MASSACHUSETTS GOV. MITT ROMNEY: "We need change, all right _ change from a liberal Washington to a conservative Washington! We have a prescription for every American who wants change in Washington _ throw out the big-government liberals, and elect John McCain and Sarah Palin."
THE FACTS: A Back-to-the-Future moment. George W. Bush, a conservative Republican, has been president for nearly eight years. And until last year, Republicans controlled Congress. Only since January 2007 have Democrats have been in charge of the House and Senate.
As posted by APnews | 09.04.08 12:35 AM
The AP is joking, right? Did they seriously compare the number of votes Palin got in a race for mayor of a small town with the number of votes Biden got while campaigning for president!?!?! HAHAHAHA...not only is this desperate it also goes to prove how much the MSM is in the tank for the Obamassiah!
Well of course Biden got more votes than Palin would and to make such a comparison is moronic especially since Huck was obviously being over thr top in his statement to get a laugh! The only thing more moronic than making such idiotic comparisons is the fact the AP (and whoever posted this tripe) actually thinks the information is significant!
Oh and the Obambi camp's response is pathetic and only shows they're scared of Sarah'cuda Palin!
wow...nice response from Obama and his legion of complete morons
who is the retarded infant again?........I forget.
BTW.....interesting how the Brookings Institution concluded that raising taxes will INCREASE after-tax middle-incomes. Sigh....I guess its too much these days to ask any liberal to actually READ something. Read it again. That's not what it said, genius
If parrotting things several good ol' boys have already said in their attacks on Obama is change,
and people actually believe it is, I'd be shocked. By the way, you can talk all you want about Dems wanting to raise taxes, the bottom line is that we have a record debt that amounts to a $75,000 loan per each individual tax return. Rather that pay as you go, the Repubs have given tax breaks that have caused the largest debt in American history, one someone has to pay for at some point. Bill Clinton is the only President a long time that actually reduced the debt. Tell me, you lower tax proponents, Bush's tax policies put us all in great debt, how are you right wing fools going to get rid of that debt? Remember, a lot of the money we owe is to communist China. We're paying them a lot of interest. How is that good for our economy? Seems good for Chinas! How is the devalued dollar good for our country? Seems better for China. Now tell me again about National Security when we owe so much money to a Communist country.
And you can blame the Dems all you want with your tax and spend rhetoric, but Bush had the checkbook and the Dems couldn't do anything without his signature. Ask again why the Dem. controlled senate didn't do anything? They couldn't because Bush would never do anything but veto an idea from the other side.
By the way, the imature, ignorant comments above from the hateful and exclusionary right, show just what kind of morals you people have. You claim Jesus as your Lord and Savior, but your actions speak volumns regarding your inability to walk in his footsteps. You extremists are sick and dilusional.
Country first. Leahy Amendment 3292 McCain voted no. Contractors first. Said because he was a good man at one time.

Well, we know where all the "bitter" people are.
What a shamefully juvenile display. If they had any dignity whatsoever, they'd be ashamed.
They displayed everything that the American electorate is tired of.
I guess some day they'll get around to the issues, right?
McCain can say he will follow bin laden to the gates of hell now, but we should have finished business in tora bora. before going into Iraq.
And don't forget what they did at one point. I think the Senate was tied and one of the Repubs. changed to become an independent. If anyone really thinks that gave the Dems. a majority, it did, but only technically. I guarantee that person continued to vote with the Repubs. so was it really a majority? NO!
McCain can say he will follow bin laden to the gates of hell now, but we should have finished business in tora bora. before going into Iraq.
McCain can say he will follow bin laden to the gates of hell now, but we should have finished business in tora bora. before going into Iraq.
Obama will be finished in the debates.
I think this country have one more shot to get it right.
Hey liberty or death. If you say it, it's open for criticism. Huck said a stupid thing and for you to blame it on the AP is equally as stupid. The problem is that the Repubs are constantly spinning facts and statistics, so even when doing so in a joking manner, it will stick in peoples minds and down the road they'll think some of these lies or mistruths are actually true, but of course the Repubs. know that. That has been their M.O. for a long time. Remember the flip-flop and swiftboat lies the current misleader propagated? Say it enough and it'll be true. So how is this method of campaigning any different than what the good ol' boys have been doing all along? It isn't, and that isn't change! You righties sure are afraid of an intelligent black man, aren't you?
She wrote it, the speech writers "tweaked" it. Get your facts straight for a change, "journalists". We are sick of your pathetic reporting. Always WRONG.
Now, Palin has shown her skills. She's just reading from the script written by someone and with no conviction in what she's reading so what's all the hype about?
It wasn't even a smooth reading like you got from an audio story.
Cutting taxes will solve our economic issue? We've cut taxes the last 8 years during that time there has been 2 rescission's.
She said nothing of why Americans should give GOP 4 more years and why the last 8 have been good for America.
All I heard was one liners from the Republicans on how bad the media, liberals, and Obama are. When the fact is GOP are corrupt from Washington to Alaska.
If Al Qayda is looking to attack us then blame Bush for taking his focus off Afganistan; how is that Obama's fault. Yes, Rules of Law even apply during time of war; no torture and due process is what makes us different from them.
How are we going to pay for the wars? We might have to sell some Red States to pay off our debt to China. :) Ooh cr*p I'm in a Red State...
palin is as stupid as MCAIN.
REPUBLICANS ARE NOT UNITED AMERICANS AS THEY SAY THEY ARE.THE WHOLE CROWD WAS WHITE.NO HISP,EUROPEANS,AFRICAN AMERICAN,ASIAN.ETC.HOW CAN U SAY WE ARE AMERICANS.AMERICA IS ONLY COMPLETE IF YOU INCLUDE THOSE OTTHER PEOPLE LIKE,BLACKS,HISP,ASIAN,ETC.
AT THE DNC CONVENTION.YOU CAN SEE THAT THEY ARE DEFINITELY FAMILY.
BUT WE REPUBLICANS ONLY CARE ABOUT REPUBLICANS, WHICH IS STUPID.
I WILL DEFINITELY VOTE FOR OBAMA/BIDEN
At least Palin used words to fight back. Democrats start riots, attack delegates, vandalize property, punch police officers and preach they are pacifist's and against war?
Do you know why you don't see Republicans rioting and protesting daily in the streets? We have jobs to go to!!!
Another point. How can invading Iraq be wrong when Iraq violated numerous security resolutions and Congress voted for military action yet Obama's plan to invade Pakistan (who is a US ally, sovereign nation and a nuclear power) if they don't cooperate, be the right thing to do?
I guess for Obama giving good speeches and identifying with the 20 something crowd is more important than actual passing laws or being "present"?
DOUBLE STANDARD
Obama delivers a speech and NOBODY mentions his speechwriter.
They did not name the speechwriter of any MALE speakers.
Why is it they have to mention that SHE did not write the speech alone?
BECAUSE IT IS A WOMAN?
What, a man like OBAMA is allowed to have a speech writer, but a WOMAN cannot?
HOPE-O-CRISY!
I do not understand how my fellow Americans can be so blind to weak attacks and media bias. Mr. Obama is correct, it's the same old song and dance we've seen the past 8 years. Same agendas, and mud-slinging. When it comes down to it, the GOP thinks they are quite clever at this convention. Sadly, Palin (whom has caused more controversy and doubt towards her party) is simply a weak attempt to make the GOP seem in touch with the American people. All her speech proved tonight was that she has no idea about the economy nor foreign affairs. However, it did prove that she follows the recent republican formula of the past decade.
Wow!!! Palin has won me over! What a smart ticket this has turned out to be. And, I am a registered Democrat of 42 years. McCain/Palin gets my vote. Obama, you should find an alternate by becoming a preacher or TV commentator.
Obama, you are a poor loser, in all senses of the word. McCain has demonstrated his character, courage and leadership by not leaving his men while a POW. Obama would have been crying while he called Oprah to buy the country so he could get out. I have no doubts he would not have waited for anyone else to get out. After all, he has important speeches to rehearse.
McCain demonstrated his ability to unite us, beginning with Joe Lieberman, a Democratic VP candidate endorsing him. McCain showed guts in picking a strong capable woman for the VP position. Make no mistake, Obama has a self-serving agenda, made clear in Iowa when he said, "When America gets a cold, black America gets pneumonia." Gee, maybe he could have included other races, by saying "poor". Michelle Obama showed her true sentiments by saying "For the first time, I am proud of America", because they nominated her husband for President.
The media and press are Obama's lackeys spreading the mud slinging by attacking a teenage girl who is pregnant and unmarried. Attacking Ms. Palin's family shows a lack of manners, civility, and character on their part. Ms. Palin, you hit a home run tonight! Not only am I going to VOTE for the McCain/Palin ticket, I am signing up to work for their campaign. A daunting task, considering I live in LA, the land of the Obamatronic masses. For once I am inspired!
WOW! Obama got served tonight! His supporters should have obeyed him when he ordered them to leave family alone. If McCain had selected another geezer from the GOP I was definitely thinking of giving Obama a chance. But now that Palin's on board she has really solidified the Republican party as one. Warning to the media: Focus on the issues, demand details of Obama's plans and stay away from attacking Palin personally...because you have to be crazy if you think she hasn't been through political b.s. mudslinging before!!!
I don't care who wrote it, Palin delivered it and she meant it.
Obama talks about cutting waste line by line in the budget to fund his programs for everyone. C'mon, who's he kidding and Palin called him out on it. Obama will raise taxes. McCain and Palin will cut taxes.

Michelle Obama showed her true sentiments by saying, "For the first time, I am proud of America", because they nominated her husband for President.
Sorry for the multiple posts, but it's also for my 3 friends here. We are all going to vote the Republican ticket now!
FUNNY!!!
Palin says Obama isn't fit to lead, and Obama says she's using Bush's Speech Writers! GOOD ONE!!
Maybe Obama should hire George Bush's speech writers! Oh, he should also hire someone to read the speeches to him (via ear piece) so he can make some eye contact with the audience instead of just staring at teleprompters. He couldn't tell you his own address if it wasn't on a teleprompter. Are there ANY questions he can answer without coaching?
Hey, Mangolynn
This says you can't make defamatory statements about anyone. That's exactly how BO feels. He thinks Republicans are "mean" ... but of course, at the DNC, they PRAISED George Bush and John McCain... right? They did, didn't they? Reaaly. I'm SURE they did. They would never be, uh, what was the word? CONDESCENDING... would they?
Like Obama writes his own speeches?? I thought that was Bill Ayers job!
Obama proved it did not matter who writes a speech when he delivered his famous "Just Words" speech that his friend Patric DeVol not only wrote, but gave before him. The "One" has a female counterpart that proved herself to be equally capable at reading a teleprompter. Not to mention that when she was Mayor she basically had the same duties as Obama when he was a community organizer except that she had actual responsibilities. The Dems sent their weakest candidate and Sarah will not have to go easy on him like Hillary did because Sarah does not have to worry about offending the Dem party.
How sweet, the socialist/leftist big money machine of George Soros and his meat puppets are being brought to wreck and ruin by a back woods hockey mom and her pregnant 17 year old daughter. I could watch B. Hussein Obama and Joe Rodham Biden squirm all day long and only break for more popcorn.
Now it's the speech writers fault? Who goes through the Obama meat grinder next? Sarah Palin's garbage man? Dog Catcher? Maybe her son's platoon leader is to blame? When is the lost left going to figure it out: Obama's got nuttin.
I haven't been this fired up about voting for a republican since 1980 and I'm going to pull that pride and a very loud HUZZAH!
Once again, although I'm sure "unintended," the Obama campaign responds with yet another sexist attack on Palin. When was the last time a male politician gave a speech and immediately after its well-received delivery the speechwriter becomes the story?
If it was a horrible speech, Palin wrote it, but if it's a great speech, someone else wrote it for her. We all know that politicians don't write their own speeches, but don't make it seem as though someone else had to write it for her because she's a woman. Yet another example of the hypocrisy and sexism on the left. Terrible ...
So a key witness in Troopergate just withdrew. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
I can't deny that Republicans are very powerful people. Palin was put forth as a substitute for Hillary Clinton (which i think is actually a disgraceful act) to appease women, but she just does not match up. She seems nice, but it's kind of obvious she was not vetted. I bet if they did, they'd have thought twice. Troopergate, earmarks, DUI, seccessionist and she didnt even know what a VP does (Youtube it)
I hate to be the one to say this, but all politicians have speechwriters. Why is this a controversy? Zero didn't write his own speeches either.
But I have to say, there was a whole lotta Sarah in that speech. She was perfect last night from start to finish.
Homerun. Out of the park.
The speech was stunning. One could not hope for a better performance and message.
Palin will appeal to women all across America who can identify with her and see that they do the same thing of juggling the family and job as her.
The Democrats are the man's only party now. (Are there any women even involved in the Obama campaign???)
Palin will be the first woman President of the United States.
I think that we can all agree that all things change. Our country is no different. Also, reasonable minds cannot differ on the fact that the demographic make up, economic prowess, and global influence of our country is changing. Likewise, reasonable minds cannot differ on the fact that these changes bring new challenges that we all must face together.
The republicans speeches last night, including Governor Palin’s, demonstrate that Republicans are out of touch and have no answers to the issues that face America. I watched the RNC with hopes of hearing new ideas on how the country can come together and tackle the monumental issues that we face, but all that was presented were attacks.
Republicans friends:
How do you intend to bring people together to face our challenges with attacks on community organizers, people who not relying on a handout from BIG GOVERNMENT (as you describe it), but who are taking it upon themselves to make a difference?
How do intend to address the unemployment and homelessness that so many Americans face, when many of you are not even willing to admit that our country is facing an economic crisis?
How do you intend to change our country’s diminishing influence in the world, without being willing to talk and reason with nations who have a different view of the world?
Here's the thing about last night's speeches:
For many independents and democrats, they wreaked of lack of respect for the other side. I had never seen so much grade school belittling ever. There has not been one policy plan yet in the last two days of the convention and they have been seriously misleading people on Obama's policy plans he layed out last week.
The worst of all was taxes, but was the tip of the iceberg. She grilled him about raising taxes on the average joe and people without jobs. Hello?? The average joe and people who lost their jobs make 250,000-650,000 a year or more? Because anyone making below 250,000 gets a fairly large tax decrease. Ill be fair, the 250,000 dollar income people and above pay the majority of taxes. However, there the ones who can afford to do so the most.
Also, attacking community organizers? Portraying basically volunteers who help the down and out all over the US in all walks of life as some type of hippie activists? This is the message they want to put out? The fact is the Obama campaign has been more than respectful towards the McCain camp and a lot of peope saw last night that they won't return the favour after McCain promised to stay away from personal attacks. I guess that doesn't include attacking someone's patriotism, family, or their motivations.
I don't like seeing people play on other's ignorance about issues. You can take on character all you want, but if you can't take on the issues, you shouldn't be running for office.
I am a proud American...Americans scare me. We make our decisions based on media input. Journalists have opinions. They're not supposed to be biased in their reporting, but they are. Do some research and learn the facts. All politicians are speakers. They say what they need to say to get where they need to go. It's what they don't say that we should remember sometimes. I have to admit, politics has always frustrated me. I guess I'd call myself a repocratendent. I like something about all the parties and dislike something about all the parties. What really gets to me when I'm listening to people speak and comment is our blindsightedness. Clinton helped the economy by getting rid of the national deficit; however, my family and I have been better off in the last 8 years. We moved from a republican state to another republican state. I don't believe it was a party who made life better, but the person in the party. I also remember an attack on the World Trade Center in 1993 and remember that as a time when Clinton was in office. I don't think Bin Laden's training and planning of attacks on America began after Bush took office. I don't believe he is attacking a "party," rather a country. We are a country of many different cultures and beliefs. No one person, or even two, will have ALL the same agendas, beliefs, etc...We must try to choose the people to run our country who we feel we can trust. This, of course, is the hardest part of all. How many politicians have made it to office and been able to follow through with their promises? One person does not make all the decisions...there's a whole congress, senate et al. who make decisions. Speaking to some of the comments here...I don't know yet who I will vote for. I refuse to make a decision based on party politics. I will listen and learn. BUT, I do believe that when Thompson responded to a First Lady hopeful who says she will be "proud of her country for the FIRST time," it was a much different stab at the family than someone judging a 17-year old who got pregnant. That happens to people in every walk of life and in many different situations. I'm not against abortion, but I don't believe it should be used as a form of birth control. At this point, I'm leaning towards McCain/Palin because they seem more trustworthy to me (and that is all relative to the other people running and not to how I live my life). I can hope that if they win, some of the "life" issues will be handled differently than some of the "country's" issues.
I love how the point flew over so many heads. THE SPEECH WAS PLANNED BEFORE SHE WAS EVEN PICKED. A few bits were edited to adjust to her story. She had NOTHING to do with the writing process and NO control over what she said. Her big accomplishment of the night was successfully reading the teleprompter, that's all.
That's why she was UNABLE to address any issues outside of what was already planned for her to say.
Pitbull with lipstick? More like puppy dog with lip gloss.
Creationism? Duh...my kids are too smart to buy that. It would never go over in Westport, CT. We are used to thinking.
Freedom? Is she serious? Is she for personal freedom when it comes to abortion legislation?
Gays as human beings? Where was that in her speech?
Member of the NRA? So she has fun using a gun. Hope it's not near me.
Obama's presidency of the Harvard Law Review and his strentgh of character far outweigh her vile moral insuffiency. She should stick to beauty contests.
Hope (From a Conservative Friend),
It's NOT the governments job to "bring people together", that's one of the problems!!!! Exactly what attacks on community organizers are you talking about?
The next part is almost laughable..."Facing an economic crisis"? OK, a crisis??? Are YOU actually being seriuos?? Umemployment is at near record lows. During the 70's,unemployment was over 7% and on average over 6.5% That's nearly an entire percentage point and we're in a crisis???
Interest rates were OVER 10%, TWICE what they are today and you honestly thing we're in a crisis? A bit of history would be helpful because many people only know their history from when they're born. It's honestly laughable that we're in a crisis.
As far as our country's diminishing in the world, stop reading the medias talking points. Both France and Germany elected pro-US leaders who have sought to rebuild alliances with America. Take a look at Sarkozy's speech to Congress months ago and tell me that we're not respected. Oh wait, you didn't see it because the media didn't report it.
Kurt there is no housing crisis. There are houshold crises caused by people who made poor choices like making only $40K and applying for $400K houses or choosing to get an ARM. It's just people who like liberals want the gov't to take care of them when they screw up. Barbara you need to go to www.drdino.com and use that empty head to find out the truth about evolution, but of course as all liberals, you'll think you are to smart to address facts. As far as freedom, where is the unborn child's freedom? You are a baby killer worse than any soldier in any war that you liberals like to protest, plus you are a racist for support Margaret Sanger and Planned Parenthood because that is what abortion is all about, but you'll never let the facts get in your way of your narrow mindedness. Obama has no experience plain and simple. The only bill he has sponsored, with none getting accepted, is to send $845 Billion overseas to crooked governments "for their poor". He isn't even qualified to carry a service members rifle much less command them. He has no character being friends with Ayers, Wright, Pfleger, Rizko, etc. He is a common socialist thug who shouldn't be in Congress yet has convinced people like you, who are too stupid to recognize him for what he is, to drink his Jim Jones Koolaid, and lie for him. You say Palin has vile moral insufficiency, which it took you a while to find in the thesaurus, but as with all liberals, you give no examples. Barbara you are a liar and a deceiver whho also is a coward because like Obama, you stand for nothing but immoral items. Isaiah 5:20 - Woe unto those who call evil good and good evil.
I was waiting for the crowd to start shooting guns in the air, and throwing their cowboy hats around. It was scary to watch.
DRILL !!!! DRILL !!! DRILL !!!! YEEEHAWWWW!!!
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Sorry I missed the speech. I was out inflating my tires and changing my oil. Today I do a tune up.
Energy crisis solved according to Obama. Geez, first campaign reform law should be: No lawyers are allowed to run for ANY political office.
Oh yes, one thing about her "vile moral insufficiency" that somebody wrote.
There are many on the left (and right) who talk the talk but don't walk the walk.
I'm glad to see that she does and that's what character is all about.
My dear Ozark,
This empty head was valedictorian of her high school class. Where did you stand? You may have had to use a thesaurus, but not me.
I think my freedom is more important than a two month fetus. What makes you the judge?
People really do exist overseas and many are suffering.
Biblical threats are for the uninformed and ignorant.
Palin's speech was so amazing....oops, I just threw up a little in my mouth.....
Palin's speech was so amazing....oops, I just threw up a little in my mouth.....
Am I missing something? Weren't we all a two month fetus at one time? But then I am not a laywer, so what do I know.
The Republicans have proven, again, during this convention that they are as incompetent as Dan Quayle trying to teach grade school students how to spell. For the two days they have been on national stage to make their case, they have done nothing but spill negative attacks on the Democratic nominee.
What is even more pathetic is their new twisting about the Palin girl pregnancy - "she's pregnant for the boy she's going to marry" The qualifier to distract you and suck you into all the stupidity is "going to marry" Who cares if she's going to marry him? Does it then make it Ok? If you brain dead people were actually paying attention, you'll realize they're using that to take away the irresponsibility in the act itself. Mistakes happen and the Palin girl will not be the last teen to get pregnant, but the Republicans using this as a tool to get sympathy votes is pathetic.
To Palin herself, I cannot believe that Americans can actually considering putting somebody who is so incompetent and does not even sound authentic and genuine a heartbeat away from the presidency. McFool has portrayed that he is really McSinile. President Reagan was already suffering from Alzheimer’s when he was in office and you want to entrust the leadership of this country to a 72year old in these challenging days. Think about all the 70+ year old people you know and tell me how many of them are willing to change from their old ways. Do you believe McZealot is any different?
Palin came across like someone giving a motivational speech to kindergarten kids, with that voice and style of hers, and the Republican kinder-kids all rose in unison any time she blotted any line and the American press comes up with "she hit it out of the ball park" phrase. What nonsense
From afar, I had a lot of respect for this country, but having lived here and seen Americans brain washed into putting a bumbling clown in the oval office for eight years, I'm beginning to wonder if Americans are really unsophisticated brain dead fools who would be suckered into putting a man who is past his prime and a woman who does not have what it takes to stand up to world leaders in the white house.
The time is now if you care for the state of the economy and the treat you face in the world today. You need a leader the world can trust so people stop hating you and get on your side again. You need someone that can motivate for the right reasons like Lincoln and Kennedy did. Vote for your future and not the status quo; the die is cast and this is your time to free yourself from the shackles of self-enslavement.
Overall her speech was unimpressive. I wanted her show me that she understood the issues facing America, not that she could tell a good joke. She’s not from the lower 48 states, so I was giving her the benefit of articulating something of substance about the economy, about rising inflation, and perhaps about foreign policy. I am glad she just got her passport last year, and hopefully after that speech the State Department will take it from her. She shouldn’t be allowed to travel internationally with that mouth. We don’t need another bully on the world stage. Our image with our allies and the world is already at a weaken state.
I also found it interesting how she defines the word crisis. She says Obama has not dealt with a crisis. Well I’ve been to Chicago, I’ve lived in Detroit, and unlike Gov. Palin I have walked the streets of urban American, and guess what there’s a crisis. It’s called the urban crisis and it taken the lives of more Americans then any foreign war. So Sen. Obama has dealt with a crisis, perhaps the most severe crisis America has faced to date. Did you know you are probably more likely to be killed on the streets of urban America then you are to be killed by a terrorist attack???? But Gov. Palin would know that if she had EXPERIENCE or if she ever left Alaska.
But what concerns me the most are the out right lies from this convention and the twisting of the facts. Factcheck. org:
# 1. Lieberman said Obama hadn't "reached across party lines" to accomplish "anything significant," though Obama has teamed with GOP Sens. Coburn and Lugar to pass bills enhancing government transparency and curtailing the proliferation of nuclear and conventional weapons.
# 2. Thompson repeated misleading claims about Obama's tax program, saying it would bring "one of the largest tax increases in American history." But as increases go, Obama's package is hardly a history-maker. It would raise taxes for families with incomes above $250,000. Most people would see a cut.
#3. Lieberman also accused Obama of "voting to cut off funding for our American troops on the battlefield." But Obama's only vote against a war-funding bill came after Bush vetoed a version of the bill Obama had supported – and McCain urged the veto.
Let's also think about these contradictions:
Rove on Gov. Kaine:
"With all due respect again to Governor Kaine, he's been a governor for three years, he's been able but undistinguished," Rove said. "I don't think people could really name a big, important thing that he's done. He was mayor of the 105th largest city in America."
Rove on Palin:
"This is a positive thing for McCain. It's a bold move, but it's also a smart political move."
By the way, Obama camp, please say things like the above, don't talk about her speech writer. We really don't care.
republicans are so delusional its not even funny
Urban crisis. Too bad residents of cities cannot take care of their own problems like the people who live in midwest and Alaska small town USA. I guess we just need to vote for the Democrats so they can fix the urban crisis by dumping billions of dollars into the failed welfare state. Duh! Like this works.
When I talk to a Democrat I feel this need to keep a hand on my wallet at all times. Sure we do not need a bully in the white house, but a worse choice is some one like Jimmy Carter, a nice guy who wanted to be loved by our enemies. Our enemies should fear us, our allies should respect us. Obama wants to sit down and talk to our enemies, who by the way would rather kill all Democrats and Republicans. I know for a fact that there were some of each in the World Trade Center.
I am a moderate. I am pro choice, support gay rights, and do not believe in creationism. However, a left wing liberal Obama administration scares me a lot more than a conservative McCain administration.
Hey Craig. "Republicans are delusional"? And what of Democrats' delusion that Barak Obama offers anything other than pixy dust, sunshine and rainbows for the masses? He arrogantly attacks the credibility of Sarah Palin's experience, and Palin responds with FACTS: Obama's "experience" ammounts to two memoirs but not a single major law or even a reform, not even in the State Senate. Please, for the record and all who are on this blog: PLEASE - name ONE...JUST ONE true accomplishment Mr. Obama has delivered that qualifies him to lead the free world. We're all waiting...
Since the DEMs keep big mouthing about Senator McCains 90% vote (10% change) with President Bush, I'd like to point out that Obama has voted 95% of the time with Harry Reid and the left-Wing Democrat Party. So I reckon that his change for the sake of change is only a 5% CHANGE! Isn't 10% more than 5%?

The speech was really not that good of a speech. Average at best a "C". Now I ask you what did she say that was so important. Can't come up with anything, Right?
All these "Palin is the real deal" comments are hilarious.
Why? Because she made talked tough and made fun of the other party?
She said absolutely nothing about her own qualifications, what her plan is, etc. Great, you're a mom. Great, you sold a plane on EBay.
Give me a break. This was a joke of a speech.
James. Lower taxes for EVERYONE. Hmmm, this seems fair.
Energy independence. Sounds like a good idea.
Oh darn, that reminds me I have to put more air in my tires.
LOL at the republican convention. They had more whites than a KKK rally. Out of over 2300 delegates only 36 black?? wtf???
Furthermore, can someone inform Sarah Palin that next time she should deliver a speech that has some congruency with her real record and not parrot back everything Bush/McCain thinks.
Poor thing, I cant wait for the debates.
She wont be allowed to have her Bush/McCain flash cards available then :|
She does not need flash cards or anything else like obana. I have a statement then a question. With obama's admitted drug abuse he is not qualified for any branch of the armed forces. How can he be Commander in Chief? Does not make sense do it?
PEOPLE I DON'T CARE HOW YOU VOTE BUT BE CAREFUL!!!
Just for clarificaion:
The Vice President of the United States[1] is the first person in the presidential line of succession, becoming the new President of the United States upon the death, resignation, or removal of the president, serving out the balance of that presidential term no matter how much or little time remains in it.
**As designated by the Constitution of the United States, the vice president also serves as the President of the Senate, and may break tie votes in that chamber.**
Lets put something on the table rarley talked about:
Currently there are
49- Republican Senators
49- Democratic Senators
2- Independent Senators (1 being Lieberman?)
While the position may to the public have no real power, what happens in a tie? And who is acutally going to make the decision the Vice President or the party that is controlling the Vice President?
Remember there was a Republican President and Republican controled Sentate during all but 1 year of the Bush administration.
And congrats to those who prospered during the last 8 years but what does that say about you, you brag about doing well but in the mean time your neighbors, freinds, and family members suffer. Is really for self or country?

With John McCain's fact of cracking under pressure (defecting to the Vietnamese after 4 days of torture, while most men went weeks longer and did not crack)
Is he ready to be Commander in Chief of our armed forces and ready to deal with real pressure?
likewise, that's a statement not a question

FACT: Obama has helped author legislation fighting nuclear weapons trade overseas - with a republican senator, nonetheless, coburn, i believe. FACT: Obama authored various ethics reform legislation. FACT: Obama, while in the Illinois state senate, authored legislation against racial profiling. FACT: That's not his entire record. FACT: Your/Palin's fact that Obama hasn't authored anything but memoirs is fiction.
Obama's experience is a legitimate issue, I'll grant that. But, it's funny how the Rs like to use various criteria for measuring this. It used to be general political experience, which the selection of Palin made an impossible to make with a straight face. So, now, the Rs say executive experience is all the rage. Well, then, McCain is just as unqualified as Obama. And, it's not exactly the case that Palin has extensive executive experience, either. Forgive me if I don't think being mayor of a town with 7,500 people and governor of one of the least populated states for 1 1/2 is extensive executive experience.
Though, in her defense, she does have the political game down pretty well. I voted against the bridge to nowhere after I supported it. I fought pork barrelling after I sent a lobbyist to Washington to fight for more money for Alaskan pet projects. I'm all for reform, but I'm under investigation and have close ties to an Alaskan senator under indictment ... and on and on

I'm all for reform, but I'm under investigation and have close ties to an Alaskan senator under indictment ... and on and on
"Hey Craig. We're all waiting..."
Republicans may not have it all together and they may be shaking Obama and the Democratic party to see what they are really clear of their ideas for change? You can bet the agenda is to overturn everything we have worked hard for will be overturned in a single pen stroke to change and overthrough what this country orginally was won for freedom which no one has paid the price more than our 1st presidert George Washington and the forfathers would have died for this country and Washington was shot full of holes in the back of his uniform But God protected him because he depended on God, not man. He didn't believe in a politacal party and spoke what would happen if this country goes to this which it has. our country is suffering the curse of a broken covernant with God The Creator. President Clinton and the scandels he went through will be nothing compared with opening the door to more earmarking of the Democratic politics and the agenda to socialize and give this country away. President Bush looks bad and may have made mistakes, but who wouldn't. What is not said how the democrats and lobbist working together with payoffs and pushing agendas tearing down moral standards and structure of America is an abamanation. The Muslems see Obama as one of them or a formal one, not a christian. Why should any canadate need to make himself a mediator of those who do not support America and America's causes. The democrates have placed the Republicans and Bush in a corner to stop every good work to be done and Bush is a fighter to do the right things and not given lots of choice to get the job done, but done in his own power. We do not need to stab Bush in the back with our critism, but appaud him, suport him and pray to God for his wisdom. Now we are challenged again to put a canadate in office McCain to hold on to the values which will keep America free. He may not be perfect, but who is? Who gave the politicians and the press to act as god and judge and scruntize anyone who opposes them and their agenda? This division of parties and their structure is really not about them, but right and wrong. It's Christ verses the antichrist spirit. Politics will not solve the issues. The only solution is to get on you hand and knees, pray and fast to God almighty and repent of our sins. Then we will be spared. Give your life to Christ Jesus and not judge the adventgelicals. There is no other way. You must vote. Ask God of wisdom. Vote the Bible, not a party.
Frank that's funny because I get tired of rich people and farm bail outs myself. Corporate welfare is the biggest welfare- $70 billion asset-for free annually. The endless tax loopholes that riddle our tax code, and the endless sea of corporate handouts have created an underground welfare system for the rich. Don't get me started on all the farm subsidies you small towners either.
I am talking about basic infrastructure that is used by everyone. When oil spikes because of national infrastructure failures it impacts everyone from the farm in Idaho to the guy sitting on the 15th floor of a New York skyscraper. When un-employment goes up its not urban problem its problem for the farmer with surplus of beef on his hands, and it’s just as much a problem for Ford and GM who find surpluses of cars on their dealer lots.
When will we get it, we are all in this together. This is global economy and this nation sinks or swims based on everyone’s role in our democracy.
Do you believe that the Party Conventions are stagemanaged? Do you believe that they serve to introduce the candidates in the best possible light...paint the opposition in the least favorable light...set forth a platform that will address issues of import to a majority of the American People? Well....do you?
Do most politicians tend to over promise and underdeliver, not so much because they are deliberate liars, but because the dynamics of our system and world circumstances do not enable our government to achieve its stated goals in a most open and straight forward way.
Over a decade ago the leader of a potential 3rd party suggested we hold our Government Accountable
by having it report to us just what it had accomplished in clear and specific terms. In a format resembling that used by corporations to report to their stockholders. The idea of using charts and graphs as well as other illustrative summaries was exemplified. Where we have been lax is in not having our leaders define our objectives in various complex projects with sufficient clarity and detail along with the proper budgeting of resources to achieve the desired goals.
Good management isn't as much about personality as it is about skills and ability. Some of these may be innate some learned along the way.
In his very popular program on another network Jim Cramer has stressed that the route to successful investing involves a certain amount of homework to
ensure that the companies you choose are on track to meet their operational and earnings goals, which in turn will meet YOUR investment objectives. He suggests about an hour a week for
up to a maximum of about 15 companies.
Your city, your county, your state, and the USG are in effect non-profit organizations for the most part, but may also have profitable components
which are run like for profit businesses.
What if Americans chose to make the effort to demand clear and concise periodic reports from each level of their various government bodies and then made the effort to study and understand those reports because they invariably affect the common 'weal'fare? Could we not find 4 hours a week, even
4 hours a month?
Might such behavior, facilitated by the
web, not begin to ratchet up the quality of and achievements of all government regardless of which
parties held which offices?
Might we then better understand how to return the leavers of power back to the people instead of entrusting them to those who eventually end up serving "other interests?"
Sarah Palin's biographer indicated that in her view Sarah does seem to be the kind of politician who would give us hope that she will act in support of the common good, which may or may not be aligned with her personal views and beliefs. Isn't that the way we would like all our elected representatives to act and think?
The office of VP has often turned out to be a kind of official PR job helping to project the
platform of the party, the official presence of the USA, and the policies of the sitting president. I believe that that was what
John McCain may have had in mind along with a
multitude of other considerations in making this particular choice. Let us see how this plays out
in Peoria as well as the White House if the voting
public decides to give them that opportunity.
I do not envy the job of the Secret Service in
keeping tabs on all these good people, both before and after the election.
Good on you Caty Couric. I liked the way you handled yourself and this task of reporting from

Pace. I actually live in an eastern urban area. Grew up in a small midwest farm town. Corporations provide jobs. Farmers and ranchers feed us. Spend some time on a small farm or ranch, no one in the country works longer hours, works harder or for less money than farmers. For a farmer one bad 15 minute storm and a whole years work is gone. One lightning flash and thousand of acres go up in flame. Farm subsidies to help these people? You bet!
As far as corporations, Palin does not mind having corporations pay their fare share. Everyone one should pay their fare share. My income barely qualifies as middle class.
I pay for my own health insurance and have done this for 20 years. What irks me is people who drive nicer cars or have a nicer house but complain they cant afford health insurance. I believe one should not expect government hand outs. Rich elitest conservative Republicans expect people to work. Rich elitest Democrats expect me to help pay people who choose not to work. However, in defense of rich people, I have never had a rich person stick a gun in my face. Yeah we are all in this together, problem is neither the rich or poor people get it. The rich prefer I pay and the poor expect me too.
Palin=lots of untruths, no guts (especially without her gun of course), no family values (maybe she should fund sex ed and her daughter would have learned a little something), will fall during the debates (can't wait), no match to Hillary (you don't really think this will make women choose McSane). Put on your thinking caps folks, surely they feel there is no economy crises because they are the rich and famous and not in touch with the real world at all. (too many houses to choose from I guess).
The future son in law...I bet he was saying what the h#ll did I put my D*ck into this time)He looked like he was the least bit interested in Bristol. Oh that's where the gun comes in again...SHOT GUN WEDDING!! I get it.
Now Sarah's husband seems to have NO contact with that child...WHY??? (Maybe it's his friends and not his) Family values again. Don't let these folks pull the wool over you eyes people.
Unlike Palin I'm ready for your comments. Go for it.
Frank you do not get it; rich people stick a gun in your face everyday. It’s called exploitation. When you work for their companies and perform those services that they cannot perform and they reward you by paying you peanuts to stick it to you, what do you think it is? When they bankrupt your 401k and are rewarded with millions of dollars in severance, what do you think that is? When they marginalize you by exploiting all the necessary loop holes in the tax system, what do you think that is? I could care less if the government taxes them to death because, as a matter of fact they do not care about the hard working people that work for them. All they care about is adding an additional foot to their yacht. I know your response will be something like “you envy successful people” and no I do not, but someone needs to make them accountable and more compassionate. Most of them are selfish, self-absorbed egotists. These are the ones that John McSame wants to work for and the government should be for all people regardless of status quo.
Anna. Last time I heard high school kids who are taught sex ed and receive free comdoms can still get pregnant. High school kids get pregnant regardless of income, or location of the school.
This seems to never change. Also, why shouldn't parents teach their children sex ed, why does it have to be the schools? Seems more appropriate. One thing about Palin's daughter, I would say she will not end up on the welfare roles. And yes, Hillary supporters will support Palin. I am and so will others. Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton are moderates. Obama is a rich, left wing, socialist. Once elected McCain will become more more moderate, just like Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan. Obama gets elected it will be open season on the US. And yes, I may even have to buy a gun.
What a pathetic attempt by Obama.
Sarah did wonderfully even though the teleprompter was not working. If it would have been Obama we would have heard a lot of uhs, uhs, uhs, uhs.
I was a Hillary supporter and now am a McCain/Palin supporter. You little scared Obots should come to HillaryClintonforum.net or Noquarterusa.net/blog and see the thousands of former Hillary supporters that are now for McCain/Palin.
Like Susan Estrich, former campaign manager for Dukakis said, she fully expects 30% of former Hillary supporters to vote for McCain/Palin. That's why the stupid Obamatons are running scared.
McCain/Palin will win the WH in November.
Uche, The corporate gun is scary, but it will not kill me. I do not have a 401K and have to pay for my own health ins. I work hard, pay my bills, pay my taxes and try to have a little fun. I have three children in college. They are all working and paying their own way just like I did.
However, when corporations have to pay more tax. I just end up paying more for all goods and services. Just the way it is. Now Obama wants me to pay more to pay for billions of dollars worth of social programs. Forget that! With McCain/Palin, I know my taxes will not go up and there is a better chance my living expenses will at least stay the same. I learned a long ago, the lower middle class always gets screwed. No freebies for us, including health insurance. My income group always get stuck with the bill! With Obama the bill will just be much higher! No thanks!
Did anyone else make the connection of Gov Palin from Alaska, and Monty Python comic Michael Palin singing of the rugged life in British Columbia, in his Lumberjack Song? For Gov Palin it could go something like this..
I'm a hockey-mom and I'm ok.
I sleep all night, I work all day
(She's a hockey-mom and she's ok.
she sleeps all night, and works all day)
I cut your taxes, I build pipelines;
The jet went on eBay.
On Wednesdays I go shooting
and have mooseburgers my way
(She's a hockey-mom and she's ok.
A card-carrying memb'r: N-R-A)
I kill the bridge, I keep the dough;
I don't believe in science.
I put on feminist clothing,
then insist on abstinence.
(She's a hockey-mom and she's ok.
Says "yes McCain" to no Fair Pay)
I'd drill Anwar, stay in Iraq,
remove the right to choose.
I wish to become a failure,
just like my dear George Bush.
(She's a hockey-mom and she's ok.
She's a right-wing nut, in the extreme way)
