I am a Florida resident and former Republican. I cannot support this ticket. They are toxic and so negative. The fact is Sheriff Mike Scott was in uniform. When a officer is in uniform he should be unbiased. This is my point Betty.

I was shocked to see a uniformed official make a blatant political statement like this. I'm wondering if there are legal ramifications. He represents the taxpayers when he is in uniform - and his actions imply the police department endorses a political candidate. Can we, as taxpayers, file suit? Barrack is obviously NOT ashamed of his middle name, otherwise, he would have changed it, and he isn't whining. The people who should be ashamed, and the whiners, are those that are trying to drag it though the mud and trying to use it to smear him.

The people who are claiming this obviously know that the intention, by the way it was used, was meant as a racist smear. Don't try to fool yourselves or anyone else that the intent was anything different. I come from rural family who has eye holes cut into their sheets too – but those are all kept in the closet these days. They usually only discuss their personal beliefs - and hatreds - around the kitchen table with other like-minded friends and family. Nevertheless, having grown up there, I know the subtle and often less-than-secret form of racist speak that they use.

Smear tactics like this are the last acts of desperate people and some racists, who know their guy is going to loose.

There are too many stipulations about what we or the media can or will say about Barak Hussein Obama without someone from his camp or party crying foul. If it's a fact, deal with it! If you want to be President, be honest with all Americans on all accounts. Answer a question that's been asked once in a while instead of whatever you'd like to spew out there at the moment. Today we had someone call into a KC Radio show (KCMO)in our city saying there will be riots like we've never seen if Barak Hussein Obama is not elected president. These types of scare tactics won't work.

John McCain says there is no reason to be afraid of an Obama Presidency. I disagree. There should be much concern if not outright fear over what Obama and his backers will do to the First and Second Amendments. After the Obama team dismantles them, what freedoms will be left? Could not happen here? Think again. That is what they said in Germany as the Fascists and Nazis assumed power and imposed tyranny all the while starting within the law of the time

With respect to the First Amendment, Obama and his backers seek to use libel laws to criminalize and shut down any criticism of Obama in St Louis. Obama and his backers seek to ban NRA ads from the air waves. Obama and his backers seek to impose a Fairness Doctrine on conservative radio but say nothing about the radical left wing media who proactively advocate his candidacy through their outlets in print, broadcast and the Internet. And now they send federal prosecutors after a Sheriff in Estero Florida. Sheriff Scott, as a pre-rally speaker for Gov Palin, said the following: "On November 4, let's leave Barack Hussein Obama wondering what happened." Following that simple statement, officials with the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, using the weak rationale that he was in uniform when he did this, apparently are investigating the Sheriff under the question of "did he use his position as sheriff to influence an election? If so, he could be in violation of a federal election law called the Hatch Act." Interestingly no elected democrats who publicly for advocate Obama have ever been questioned. What about those elected officials in St Louis using libel threats against conservatives? You do not see conservatives and backers of McCain and Palin using these tactics. Nor do you see them bashing windows and slicing tires of veterans who have McCain stickers on their cars as the "unhinged liberals" do here in Colorado Springs.

With respect to the Second Amendment, Obama campaign ads tout that he is for the rights of Gun Owners and he even claims to have an NRA member supporting him. There may be one, but I doubt it. There are also a few military who support Obama. A recent study shows that they are outnumbered 3 to 1 by those who support McCain. But Obama's record clearly shows that his true beliefs are not what he now states. The laws he supports in Illinois for instance place extreme restrictions on the rights of gun owners to protect themselves through limitations on that right and high taxes on what they are, for now, willing to leave as a pacifying vestige of that right. For instance, the following add demonstrates the cost issue: "ALL orders placed from or shipped to Illinois, MUST be placed by the FFL Gun Dept. by calling 1-800-237-4444 ext 132; available Monday-Friday 7am-9pm and Saturday 8am-5pm (Central Time)." You cannot simply get ammunition at a reasonable price with ready availability in Illinois. Ted Kennedy first noted that if you cannot ban the guns then getting the ammunition makes guns of no value. Obama wants legislation that bans right-to-carry nationwide, Obama wants to ban all hunting ammunition (so much for the awareness of hunter in the campaign add). Obama supports the NY Mayor Bloomberg tactic of predatory lawsuits against gun manufacturers. Obama voted to criminalize the actions of a homeowner who shot a violent intruder that threatened his family in his own home on two consecutive nights. (That homeowner should have shot the intruder the first night.) Obama served on the Board of Directors of the Anti-Gun Joyce Foundation which provided more than $18 Million in grants to anti-gun groups

John McCain, you are wrong on this question. We should be wary of the impact of an Obama Presidency will have on our country. Everything from loss of rights to enormous taxation are facing us under a government controlled by him and his allies in the Congress. Remember the consequences to the world resulting from the naive belief of many before the Nazi Party clamped down following legitimate political victories based on progressive ideas and tremendous civil discontent during severe economic times. Note that Mayor Bloomberg, a staunch Obama supporter and obsessive gun control advocate wants to suspend term limits in NY so he can run for a third term as Mayor. Think about it before you vote for an Obama presidency. You future and that of this country depends on it.

Anytime anyone tries to "shut down" comment whether it is a sheriff at a rally or a St. Louis public official, it should send a wake up call to all who value their freedom of speech and the right to be free. The first thing dictators try to get control of is the communication of people between people - i.e. all media outlets!
