Readers -- Does this help John McCain stop the bleeding in the polls?

Market is still down a thousand or more.
Plus, it's not like the market is the only reason people left McCain. He's been acting like a ping pong ball in an earthquake lately, and people don't get a good vibe from that.
Not only that, the economy is still shedding jobs like crazy. Almost 1 million this year. This economic recession is NOT a function of Wall St, duhh, it's the other way around.
Well it's better for McCain than another massive drop, but at this point it's not going to matter. He's toast. It's just a question of whether he saves face by carrying IN, NC etc.
I like the line "John McCain has been fighting for the United States since he was 17!" Oh really? You mean at 17 when he was partying, and even according to his own admission in earlier stories, was a pretty womanizing kind of guy? Or do you mean when he was having so much fun at the naval academy that he landed the 5th from the bottom position in his class? Was he fighting for America then? That would have put him at age 22. So, just when did he start fighting for us? Whenever it was, 17 is a big stretch of the imagination. People who knew him say that's the understatement of the year. There are some things the McCain ticket tells about him that are true, but there's a lot that's false.
It's nice for McCain to tell the woman in Minnesota, "who had heard that Barack Obama was a terrorist, and read it somewhere...."..that....pause, think, pause, think, "Uh.....no, m'am, he's not an A-rab." That WAS a nice thing to do, considering that Palin stoked up the crowds with all her HATE RHETORIC about palling around with terrorists. McCain and Palin both have gotten angry mobs to their feet yelling all kinds of terrible things, and by the way, they BOTH have had their own share of friends that were less than desirable. Senator McCain should also have set the woman in Minnesota straight about hating Arabs. Not all Arabs are bad, not all Arabs are Muslims...and not all Muslims are terrorists! How would you feel if you were born into a Muslim family? Have any of us chosen into which kind of family we were born? Where is the Christian charity and the love for our fellow human beings?
And after the many days of HATE-MONGERING, we, the stupid public, are now supposed to forget all that? Then the McCain campagin whines about the liberal media being mean to Palin and too kind to Obama? Watch the news, and tell me to whom they are being too kind? Who is Glenn Beck favoring? How about Lou Dobbs? (Lou Dobbs is the answer to that one.) Fox is no contest. And the commentators.
If you guys all want a hothead in the White House, then vote McCain, by all means. We've had 8 years of dumb and dumber, and it's going to get dumber yet. And once McCain passes on, we've got the queen of sarcasm and her "Howdy Partner" first dude to deal with. Might as well go for World War III. She believes Armagedon is coming soon, don't-cha know? Why, she's the messenger of the Lord, according to many of her followers!
How long do we have to be ashamed of leaders who do not read, are of mediocre intellect, and have about as much intellectual curiosity as a turtle?
Wake up, America, before it's too late, and you've passed by someone who is brilliant, and who will assemble the BEST minds, and restore America's dignity in the world, just because he has a latte looking skin!!!! Lay aside any stereotypes you might have, and despite his name, (which he didn't give himself!) please, please give Barack Obama a chance!
