Ongoing ACORN Discussion, Nuts?
John McCain campaign manager Rick Davis released a statement this afternoon about the FBI's investigation of ACORN:
"Given the fact the FBI has launched a nationwide investigation into the questionable voter registration practices of ACORN, it is imperative that Barack Obama's campaign cooperate fully with this important investigation. To date, in public announcements including last night's debate, Barack Obama has attempted to conceal and distort his and his campaign's relationship with a group that is currently engaging in systematic voter fraud. Barack Obama's campaign must fully disclose the true nature of his association with ACORN, including:
· The total disclosure of all funds, including $832,000 from Barack Obama's campaign to ACORN and ACORN affiliations like Citizens Services, Inc.
· Any and all information the Obama campaign has related to ACORN's database of registered voters compiled during this election cycle.
· The total disclosure of coordination between Barack Obama's campaign, ACORN, and ACORN affiliations over the entirety of this election cycle.
· The truth behind ACORN's hiring of get-out-the-vote workers on Barack Obama's behalf in Ohio during this election cycle.
"In the spirit of a fair election Barack Obama should assist in this process prior to Election Day," Davis said.

This is PRECISELY WHY you're not allowed to pursue a political investigation in advance of political elections.
A last gasp at halting an almost certain Obama win.
"PRECISELY WHY"? You don't really mean fraud should be allowed to happen and then try to clean it up after an election? That's nuts. ACORNS even. That worked really well in 2000.
Yes, what they did at the FBI used to be a violation in the DOJ Election Crimes Manual, but a Karl Rove operative had that part REMOVED before the US Attorney Purge Scandal blew up in Alberto Gonzales' face.
""""this sort of release likely would have violated the traditional principles stated in the Department's Election Crimes Manual, such as the requirement that prosecutors "must refrain from any conduct which has the possibility of affecting the election itself," and that "most, if not all, investigation of an alleged election crime must await the end of the election to which the allegation relates," but those provisions were removed by the Department in May 2007 as the U.S. Attorney controversy was unfolding and it was learned that former U.S. Attorney Brad Schlozman had apparently improperly brought enforcement action against ACORN volunteers during the run up to the 2006 national elections.""""
This is the TRUE strategy to commit voter fraud.
Not fraud by employees of ACORN itself.
This is: George W. Bush, Karl Rove, Alberto Gonzales, Kyle Sampson, the politicization of the Department of Justice... The attorney purge, where Bush fired Republican attorneys who WOULD NOT go after these fake claims of voter fraud.
Remember them? All of your Republican buddies? THEY are the ones that caused this country to veer off a cliff. THOSE guys are the ones behind the ACORN "scandal" and the USA Attorney Scandal.
The Republicans went after ACORN in 2006. The Republicans have committed voter fraud in EVERY ELECTION in recent memory. This is not about Barack Obama. This is out-and-out voter fraud from the criminal syndicate of the GOP.
One last attempt to steal power before they are finally -- mercifully -- kicked out of office so the Democrats can FIX THIS COUNTRY'S PROBLEMS, FINALLY.
Thank God Americans are done with this nonsense and will be voting for Obama in THEFT-PROOF numbers.
ACORN should be investigated, and Obama's long history of working with this organization in Illinois should be exposed too. He lied last night, dismissing questions about his association with ACORN saying that he only worked with the Motor Voter law case. In fact, he ran Project Vote, which is an ACORN affiliate, and his campaign gave over $800,000 in "donations" to ACORN during the primary. Perhaps those accusations that Obama's people were bullying Clinton's campaigners was actually true! Who knows! But we know this much...Obama will do ANYTHING to win.
Ethan, please lay off the kool-aid and put down your copy of "Spare Change".
Questioning ACORN is the patriotic thing to do. When someone or some group tries to subvert the one-person-one-vote principle, they should be chased to the ends of the Earth.
>>>When someone or some group tries to subvert the one-person-one-vote principle
And your evidence that ACORN is violating the "one-person-one-vote principle" is WHAT?
Um, none.
How do you know who has "subverted" that principle until all of the votes are counted (after the election)?
Um, you can't.
Does it make sense to investigate voter fraud before the supposed fraud has even taken place?!?!
Um, no.
This is basic Common Sense, people...
And that is why -- as I stated -- the DOJ Elections manual doesn't investigate voter fraud IMMEDIATELY BEFORE an election.
So partisan fools like you and Rick Davis don't try to disrupt the Democratic Electoral Process.
But what is most shocking is what BC is really saying:
NEVERMIND that Republicans have been prosecuted and the Attorney General forced to step down because of VOTER FRAUD...
NEVERMIND that Republicans have complained about ACORN every - single - recent - election and nothing has been found to be improper...
NEVERMIND that the Republican ideology has ruined this country...
...Let's listen to the Republicans!
Gimme a break. Who's drinking the Kool-aid again? Haha.
At the end of the day, this election is about AMERICA and our ECONOMY. Period. Barack Obama is on top of it, smart, skilled, thoughtful, bringing the CHANGE we need. McSame is just a Bush 3rd term -- same people, same smears, same policies. The choice for AMERICA couldn't be clearer.
