Palin 2012, One For All And All For Ethanol

With reports out today from Politico and others that all's not well between the John McCain and Sarah Palin camps and that Palin is going "rogue" because she's frustrated with how she's been managed, here's one sign that the Alaska governor is pondering her future fortunes.

Stumping in Iowa today, she broke with McCain on ethanol. He has never supported subsidies. But here's Palin:

Her full quote, per NBC/NJ's Matthew Berger:

"Now, that is nonsense, because we have the domestic solutions here, and John and I will adopt the all-of-the-above approach to meet America's great energy challenges.Yes. Those hundreds of billions of dollars being re-circulated here in America, that means harnessing alternative sources like the wind, and the solar and the bio mass and the geothermal and the ethanol, and we'll develop clean coal technology. And we'll drill for the billions of barrels of oil that we have right now warehoused underground included our resources offshore. We will drill here and drill now, and now's when you chant, 'Drill, baby, drill.'"

Jennifer, no where in Palin's quote does she mention subsidies. McCain isn't against ethanol per se; he's against subsidies and tariffs. Big Difference. I'm looking for where she comes out for subsidies and I can't see it. It really seems like you're reaching for controversy here where there is none.

i've always known that she has the brains under all that hoopla...and i was mad at obama when she came out of the woodwork, coming to the foolish conclusion that his pride was his downfall...
how wrong was i? totally and ignorantly so...coz as it turned out,by the end of the day, gov. palin is not that much different from me...a harried housewife who turns into a shrew when things go wrong...damn the torpedoes...let's just throw the kitchen sink and the chandelier so nobody would notice the stink and the dismal state of our own household.

This is why McCain would have to watch his back if he were to become president, which he won't. She wants to be president as soon as possible. If Palin and her pushy husband found that McCain wasn't dying fast enough, I believe they wouldn't have a problem helping him along, as it were. If they bullied the Chief in Alaska why would McCain be different? They know he is old and sick. If something happened to him no one would be surprised. She and her husband are treacherous and as much as the people in Alaska sing their praises I can't help believing that there are many in Alaska who can't wait for them to depart. She has used God to her advantage and captured the Evangelicals. But I notice Pat Robertson has said very little on the subject of Palin. Perhaps he is not as happy with McCain's choice as people think he is.

I don't care what anyone says, I think Sarah Palin is awesome. I would be thrilled to see her as our Vice President, and I am convinced she would do an awesome job. I also think she has the potential to be a very good President one day. No, I don't agree with all of her beliefs or opinions, but I like so much else about her that it doesn't matter.

The only one who needs to watch his back is Obama, because he is gonna win, and then he is gonna be a target, first black prez and all...

i think that McCain is getting exactly what he deserve. he should of known that she was no HILLARY, and that if he wanted to win, then that was not the way!!!!!..... SO OH WELL.......SEE YOU IN 4.......LOL

The only person who got anything wrong here was the reporter............trying to stir up controversy..........McCain is for ethanol.......he has made that clear (I guess the reporter doesn't read the real news) he is against subsidies......for ethanol and for gas and for oil and lots of other things.

Maybe this is a perfect example of what Garrison Keillor once said, "The relationship between the truth and the newspaper (media) is the same as the relationship between the color green and the number seven"

McCain is getting exactly what he deserves for picking someone that he thought would pull all of the Hilary supporters over to him. Why and how, it escapes me. Palin is obviously over her head, but she has no intention of going back into the bottle. She aspires to be the president, and heaven forbid if McCain should win, he had better stay away from staircases and keep his eye on her. By purchasing all of those high-falutin' clothes for her, he has created an out-of-control monster who tranformed from a Chatty-Cathy-like, off-the-rack wearing "hockey mom", "Jane six-pack" drinking puppet that has taken on a life of her own.

Wow, double/triple/quadruple post much?
Hint: hit submit/post ONCE. Have patience.

On topic: Palin's going "rogue", so the "reporters" and "news" are jumping on anything that might be construed as fitting those categories.

Why? Because it's important to be first. Just as people post crap like "f1rst P04st" at the start of an internet thread. It doesn't add much to the discussion, but if something proves insightful later (like winning the lottery), the reporter will receive accolades/recognition.

Don't count on that FunkySauce. That is not going to happen to Obama because unlike the others that got killed, Obama is not an adulterer. God likes that.

It's Hotline's fault. It's absurd that that after all of these years they can't implement a solution to their multiple posting problem. Any sophomore IS student intern could fix it for them.

I wonder how many readers they've lost over the years because their commenting system?

By others I mean JFK, RFK, MLK.

By others I mean JFK, MLK, RFK.

ummmm - the underlining problem in the McCain is that everyone is being childish and playing the blame game. All of rhetoric about who lost the campaign is too soon, it's only the 26th. They have 8 more days and a lot can happen in 8 days. I have read reports that McCain has already decided not show up to his own victory party, that is straight up foolishness. He's spent all this $$$ now decides to bury his head in the sand when the victory doesn't look certain. If this is the type of president you people decide to put into office, the God help us all...

You people are ranting about Palin's wardrobe, while an anti-American Socialist / Marxist racist is about to highjack our government, with the help of voter fraud, and a corrupt biased media. You'd better wake up ... or, this country is about to experience an ugly 4 year long nightmare !!!

Starting November 5th I will start working to make sure Sarah palin is the Repbulican Party nominee for 2012 whether or not McCain wins. She clearly is a Conservative Republican in the best sense of the word not an Amnesty Loving, Pro-Free Trade, Pro-Globalization type like Romney, Huckabee, Giuliani, etc. She is the best candidate since Fred Thompson.

McCain made statements against ethanol several months ago in Iowa, which wa not a popular thing to say in Iowa. McCain probably told her to say it. I doubt she would have known the importance of ethanol in Iowa, which McCain is desperate to win.

Alaska's major newspaper endorsed Obama. They said most people that worked with Palin said she was not ready to be a heartbeat away for being President

The major newspaper in Arizona has not endorsed anyone. Obama has more than a 3 to 1 lead in newpaper endorsements. Several have never endorsed a Democrat and some had never endorsed or had not endorsed for a long time.

Many papers listed Palin as a major reason. Others listed Obama's cool and calm, intelligence, repairing our world image, and his outstanding campaign strategy.

Kerry had a small lead in endorsements in 2004

I keep hearing how so many people keep coming to hear Palin. I'm convinced if you polled the audiences, you'd find most of them see her as a curiosity & belittle her old way of thinking. They're not supporters, they simply want to see what the attraction is! I'm also sick of hearing, because I'm on a fixed income, that I don't pay taxes. Every time I go to the grocer, buy a shirt, fill the tank or purchase aspirin, I pay taxes. And so far, the trickle-down theory has left me feeling peed on. The first thing we have to change is our thinking.

What is wrong with this country. Is every one blinded by their fears implemented from the last 8 years to see whats going on? Sure having your grand-pa in office seems comfortable and secure but do they not realize on the other end we have a vp nominee who is waiting to put a hatchet in his back and sell this country out to the highest bidder? I smell b.s. from a mile away..shes as qualified to run any office im sure....thats why she was in Alaska and not a state that has enough size or wealth to matter. i trust her as far as i can throw her....hopefully the worst doesnt come

She is the best candidate since Fred Thompson.

I will certainly agree that they are in the same league.
