Palin On Stevens: "A Very Sad Day For Alaska"

From the tarmac at Richmond Airport, Sarah Palin issued a statement about the guilty decision in the Ted Stevens corruption case:

"Thanks for your patience there. It's a sad day for Alaska, and a sad day for Senator Stevens and his family. The verdict shines a light though on the corrupting influence of the big oil service company up there in Alaska that was allowed to control too much of our state. And that control was part of the culture of corruption that I was elected to fight. And that fight must always move forward regardless of party affiliation or seniority or even past service. And as governor of the state of Alaska, I'll carefully monitor now the situation, and I'll take any appropriate action as needed. In the meantime, I do ask that the people of Alaska join me in respecting the workings of our judicial system, and I'm confident that Senator Stevens, from this point on, will do the right thing for the state of Alaska."

As she climbed the stairs to her plane, she ignored a reporter's question about how she'll vote next week in her state's Senate contest.

Why is there not a law to bar convicted felons from serving or running for Congress? That is a disgrace.

Yea right! The worlds two most renowned convicted felons are Democrats Bill Clinton and George Soros. These bums should not be allowed to campaign nor participate in our presidential election process.

In a real world the entire Senate Banking and House Finance committee members including their leaders Chris Dodd and Barney Frank should've been removed from those positions immediately after this Fannie Freddie fiasco was identified.

Joe Biden is a "walking conviction" just waiting to happen. This guy is dumber than a bag or rocks.

OK, both parties have crooks in them, in fact, IMO all elected office holders are crooks. But what really burns me up is even after they are found guilty, they get to keep their pension and health care benefits.

Any taxpayer that isn't a elected office holder will lose his social security (if drawing) when they are convicted. Veterans lose their pensions, VA disability is gone also if convicted.

But the elected crooks, HELL NO, they get to keep drawing their benefits!

Right, Scott. Do you recall the name Abramoff? Selling Congressional influence for literally millions of dollars to Indian Casino owners. That a real badge of honor for the Republican party whose motto is " I got mine."

Um, Scott....what was Bill Clinton convicted of that makes him a felon??

BIRDS-OF-A-FEATHER-FLOCK-TOGETHER!

Sarah Palin doesn't look to happy today; as she normally does smearing Obama, does she?

It just might be because her "first dude" and his buddies built the Palin house on promised contracts--such as those for the sports arena!

Gee, maybe some of those "big oil" revenues she passes on tax payers in Alaka are some of the corrupt influences she's talking about!

So happy to see that the "Anchorage Daily News" endorsed Obama before their headlines read: Ted Stevens convicted--"PALLING AROUND" with "BIG OIL" company!
Wonder if Sarah will give a stump speech...I read today in the Alaska Daily news that Alaska's REPUBLICAN State Senator Ted Stevens has been convicted of 7 felonies for "palling around" with big oil company--my "first dude" and I are so embarrassed--hope they don't find my and Ted's e-mails!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
