Palin On The Attack
JACKSONVILLE, FL - Sarah Palin made light today of Barack Obama's claim that he doesn't know the background of former radical Bill Ayers, suggesting the Democratic candidate may cite limited knowledge of other world issues.
"You know, what's next? Claiming that he didn't know two of his biggest supporters were running Fannie Mae, the sub-prime mortgage giant?" Palin asked several thousand supporters at Jacksonville Landing, overlooking the St. John's River. "And since he got called out on his plans to meet unconditionally with terrorist state leaders like Ahmadenijad, will he now claim he was unaware of his radical backgrounds?"
Palin, who will be in North Carolina during the second presidential debate, said tonight's town hall forum will showcase the contrasts between the two candidates.
"We'll see the difference between a politician who puts his faith in government and a leader who puts his faith in you," she said. "The difference between inspiring words and inspiring deeds. And you're gonna see the difference between a politician who observes and analyzes us, and a leader who understands us. In short Florida, it's gonna be the difference between a guy who makes big promises and a guy who gets things done."
Palin also reiterated John McCain's message of economic recovery, saying a Republican administration would impose a spending freeze on government.
"It will cover all but the most vital functions," she said. "We have to do this because we have to get in there and review every federal agency, every part of federal government, and improve those parts that need improving and eliminate those parts that aren't working for the American people."
She said, too, that McCain would reduce the national debt.
"We will confront the 10 trillion dollar debt that the federal government has run up and that we're gonna be handing off to our children unless we do something about it today," she said. "We will balance the federal budget."

The USCWF was founded in Phoenix, Arizona in November 1981 as an offshoot of the World Anti-Communist League. The group was, from the onset, saddled with the disreputable reputation of its parent group. The WACL had ties to ultra-right figures and Latin American death squads. Roger Pearson, the chairman of the WACL, was expelled from the group in 1980 under allegations that he was a member of a neo-Nazi organization.
The U.S. Council of World Freedom claimed to be cleansed of these elements. The group's director, retired Major General John Singlaub, said he had purged some of the more "kooky" members, including a Mexican chapter that "blamed everything on the Jews," and "even accused Pope John Paul of being a Jew."

It's really a shame that our election had to be diminished by Palin. There is no serious argument to be made that she is a qualified candidate, and McCain has made a mockery of the process. My guess is Palin will be so ridiculed by the time the election mercifully ends that she will have no serious political future left. Justice, of sorts, I suppose, but the culprit it McCain, not Palin. McCain's justice is that Palin seems to be pulling him down.

She may be the one person in our country more insulated than Bush when considering knowledge of world issues. She can't name a reputable news source she has read, in fact she couldn't even lie and just name one. At least she could have said FOX news, and it would make sense to the voting public.
Her characterization of Obama as 'palling around' with Ayers is her interpretation of a New York Times article which stated Obama had no real substantiative connection with Ayers. She is banking on the idea that Americans don't read literature, that Americans are still voting scared, and that if she attacks enough that people will ignore her woeful short-comings.
I don't agree, but can understand how people would vote McCain, and especially 3rd party, before they voted for Barack, but Sarah Palin may be the most uninformed, uneducated, and most despicable person to ever run for either the president or vice presidency in the last 50 years.
(Though she has a point about Fannie and Freddie, but I'm sure someone else told her to point this out, and this is the reason I think she would be an enormous failure in national office)
As a veteran and a working American, I find it hard to believe that all of these people are flocking to Obama. I work for a living, I pay my bills and I don't need or want anything from the government. Where I am from we work, we don't set there hoping that some left wing liberal will pay our way. To all of you; get a job and get a life.
Why does everyone have these views of Iran? As a Jew, I despise Ahmadenijad's position on Israel, and I might not mind if he 'disappeared,' but as an intelligent and educated person I realize that Ahmadenijad is just mirroring the views of the religious clerics and in particular the ayatollah. It is so ironic to me that right wingers call for the destruction of Iran, because our country is so much like Iran. A powerful right wing government which doesn't listen to the more liberal leanings of the majority of the country, especially the younger generation, 30-35 and under. Our government is calling for them to stop enrichment of plutonium because our government says that they will use it to build nuclear weapons, while they consistently say it will be used for energy production. Meanwhile, we commend India for their nuclear work, and back the one Middle Eastern country which does have nuclear weapons, Israel. In fact, Iran is able to do the work they are now doing, by law, within the nuclear proliferation treaty. If they are building a nuclear device, it would seem just as justifiable that they have it for defensive purposes.
Too often in the past, we as Americans have taken our leaders at their word, believing pretty much anything they had to say, but if each person educates themselves, and looks at things from the other's perspective, and not just rah-rah America, then we can see the reality of the world. Wake up America! Do the math!
What is it about being a veteran and working American that baffles you that people would vote for Obama? Are you under the impression that Obama has some sort of communist/socialist policy set up and in waiting for when/if he became president? Do you think that all Obama voters have no jobs? I'm guessing the majority of people who write for Obama in these blogs are students whose schedule allows for time to blog.

Actually, Mr. American, we're all trying to have a life with jobs and families and such, but the George W. Bush, John Sidney McCain III Economy is kind of putting a slight damper on, oh, everything.
Oh, maybe you haven't heard! Silly me. We are in a deep recession! Didn'tcha know? You betcha!
