Wash Post/ABC Poll: Obama Up 10
Nuggests from the Washington Post/ABC News survey out today:
-- Barack Obama leads John McCain, 53% to 43% among likely voters, and for the first time in the general-election campaign, voters gave the Democrat an edge on tax policy and providing strong leadership. The last Wash Post/ABC News poll, released 9/29, showed Obama up four percentage points, 50% to 46%. McCain last led 9/7, 49% to 47%.
-- In the latest poll, Obama's favorable rating is 64%, compared with McCain's 52%.
-- President Bush's approval rating is at a dismal 23%.
-- More than half of all voters, 53%, said that the economy and jobs are the most critical matters influencing their choice for president. And Obama is winning these "economy voters" -- 62% to 33%.

This is a historic time. In the next 5-10 years history will decide whether the US will remain a world leader. We need an unusually smart President to steer the country, a visionary and someone who could re-unite the Americans and re-unite America with the World. John McCain, with all the respect, is old school, and his time has passed. He perceives the world through his mind that still in the 1960s. This is not what we need. The "shoot first ask questions later approach" does not work. His selection of the VP was very disappointing - working on emotions, forgetting competence.
It is not true that Obama is a Muslim and terrorist. What is true is that he is extremely effective communicator and will be listened to in Europe, Asia, Africa - and in here America. Having his unusual background and superb education, he knows how to deal with all sorts of people. The question remains if Obama is THE right man for the job, the job being so difficult. Particularly, the economic challenges - globalization, baby-boomers retiring, environment, health, etc. But Obama/Biden is clearly more competent team than McCain/Palin.
