If you think that a business making $250,000.00 deserves to be taxed at a higher rate you are crazy unless you are talking about a business that has one employee, THE OWNER!!! First and foremost you have the over head expense that keeps the business running. This overhead does not include the workman’s compensation expense that businesses are required to carry or the taxes they are already paying. So by the time you take all the expenses out and before employees are paid this small business is down to $150,000.00. A person in America today making $30,000.00 is considered to be at the poverty level so let say this business owner hires an employee right at the poverty rate. He can hire 3 to 4 employees and still have enough to keep himself just above the poverty level. This is without out the ability to offer raises at anytime and this is BEFORE, Obama's tax increases or required health insurance. So what is going to happen to this business? You got it another business that has to go out of business. More people jobless, another business folds. This is simple math. But yet Obama supports are quick to call everyone else idiots. I wonder how someone who makes Millions of dollars a year off of the tax payers could even think that $250,000.00 is a lot of money. This is what Obama probably spends on one of his suits.

Just for the record I'd rather have an old, honest Military supporter who has straddled the fence on many issues for many years than an inexperienced Muslim that has to many ties to the terrorist that have taken so many American lives.

Amanda is correct, your gross income does not mean that you are reflect what the owner makes. I own a small retail business that does over 2 million in sales but I have over 25 staff members and I have to pay for my rent, electricity and other expenses. At the end of the year I end up with just enough to support my family. I pay a lot in taxes, but I also benefit from those taxes by having police protect my home, soldiers protect my country, roads to drive on and much more. While I hate paying taxes, I believe that it is my patriotic duty to do so. I also believe that the more money you make, the more responsibilty you have to make this country great, and that takes money. How are we going to continue leading the world if our education system goes backrupt. Joe, if you really net 250 thousand, good for you, but please pay your share.

I assume not the first one. Perhaps the 2nd, which is usually stated as the "love of..." certainly the 3rd one could be debated, as he was crucified for being a threat to the regime.

Right. Just so you know, the $250k limit is AGI, after expenses, credits and adjustments. So, a business that makes $150k after those deductions would get a tax cut under Obama's plan.

And those that do make over $250k AGI? Well, they get a whopping 3% increase from 36% to 39% on the money earned over $250k -- not on the whole amount. So, a business earning $260k gets a net increase of $300. Over an entire year.

And, frankly, it continues to amaze me that people advocate for Sarah Palin, especially at a time like this. This is someone who lived in an extremely isolated small town for virtually her entire life, with no interest in national or international politics. Nor does she have any intellectual aptitude -- she bragged she got a "D" in the one community college economics course she took. And don't tell me she'll solve it all with smart advisers. Her appointees in Alaska are predominantly high school buddies -- her attorney general, for example, was a small town lawyer, way in over his head. There is simply no track record, no preparedness.
