George Bush has tarnished in every way possible the Republican Party’s standing with the public to such an extent that Barack Obama will have to try really hard to make himself unelectable for the second term in 2012. Even if he keeps playing golf with his buddies every day of the week or spends all his waking hours, in emulation of his presidential role model, Bill Clinton, in more pleasurable amorous pursuits in the Oval Office, the economic situation in the country will ceratinly improve from its present abysmal level even without any efforts on his part. His re-election for second term, therefore, is 100 per cent certain and Sarah Palin can bet her bottom dollar on it. She will do well not to throw away another and, probably, her last chance but try, instead, for a U S Senate seat and spend the next six years in hobnobbing with the Washington DC beltway crowd and learn something more about the other 49 states in the union. She must concentrate on honing up her admittedly meagre knowledge of various issues, both domestic and international and erase from the electorate’s mind, to the extent possible, the impression of being a superficial, dim-witted, un-informed ignoramus that she had created during her short stint as the vice-presidential candidate.

It's unbelievable that this lady is such a point in US. Looking over her interview I could already see Frey telling what she said and it's a scream, you can just laugh with tears. She talks like a Miss: you know, energy, you know, peace, ah, you know, kids with disabilities (It resonated well throughout the campaign!!). The attacks continue, and if she is silent, she is simply allowing others to define her. Now that she is back in her comfort zone, she has the freedom to test her positions and learn the things she now knows she needs. It's all about the base; she got one in an eruption of sudden emotion, but it was immediately eroded and attacked. Now she has to solidify, rebuild, and expand that base if she wants a future. But she can't do that if others are controlling her narrative, without some pushback.

As you know, modern politics requires active pushback to counter monomaniacal media focus, the talking heads and the screaming bloggers. Notice that the haters on both sides still consider her a fair target for anything and everything, real and imagined. That's not the battleground; the real fight will be over the hearts and minds of moderates and other, less-immobilized voters. Neither McCain nor the remainder of his campaigners is going to protect or assist her. Since there's no one else to do it for Palin, if she wants to have any national political future, she has to do the pushing herself.

Right now, it's national media still focussed on her. The real test will come when the spotlight shifts to the lower media levels. At that point, she can continue the same tone, at which point it becomes over-exposure. Or she can use the opportunity to lay the groundwork that all successful politicians do when the glare dims. That won't be over-exposure; it will be a measure of whether she was a one-hit wonder or someone with potential.

Bottom line: she has to build a base from what she suddenly got three months ago. If she communicates effectively to solidify, build and expand that base, it's not over-exposure. If she stalls or her base begins to shrink, then she's been in the sunlight too long.

Please...do I have to continue to read about her? When are the GOP's going to find someone I, as a democrate, can trust? It certainly won't be her. Do they think she can come up against Obama in the next election and win? She needs to go home, take care of her family, read some books on grown up politics (not hockey mom style)and come back and try for the Presidency when Hillary does. Calm down, vultures. The reality of Gov. Palin is that she still MAKES news and even critics see her involvement in the future. I cannot think of anyone who has been in her position so far that has THAT kind of potential future. With the right coaching, a strong marketing strategy and learning she can and most likely will be a force few will easily combat sucessfully against.
